Chapter 915 Fighting Ghosts 15 (2/2)

They looked at each other.

"That's terrifying."

"You tricked me again!"

The two were talking on completely different wavelengths.

The Taoist priest walked slowly until he reached the crooked tree. The hanging ghost was surprised to see the few of its kind who had gone to the He family earlier following behind a strange Taoist priest, but out of fear, it gradually disappeared. Curiosity was not as important as life, even though it was already dead.

But the Taoist priest merely glanced at it, flicked his whisk, and the branch that had bound it snapped with a crisp sound. The hanged ghost found itself able to move again.

“Follow behind, someone will pay for your soul.” The Taoist’s tone was indifferent, leaving no room for argument. He tossed the money bag in his hand and muttered to himself, “Consider this your appearance fee.”

The hanging ghost sensed something, its body trembled, and the ghost was instantly terrified, so it obediently followed behind the group.

The Taoist priest suddenly stopped, turned around and asked Mei'er, "How did you come to know that... Taoist Master?"

Mei'er didn't understand what the Taoist priest meant, but she answered his questions in detail. The Taoist priest then asked the starving ghost behind her, and then the ghost who died unjustly from being hit by falling rocks. Finally, he suddenly laughed.

"Is this the one who changed my fate?" He looked into the distance and muttered to himself, "That stinky monkey really wasn't lying. Does that mean I'll have to lose another pot of wine to him?"

"When did I trick you?" Xiao Hei shouted.

"That guy you just saw was a god! A god! The kind that could scare you to death! Why didn't you say that?"

"How should I know? He didn't do that in the original story!"

"you...."

Xiao Bai suddenly turned her head, her face full of reluctance.

Fang Zhiyi rolled her eyes at him, temporarily stopping her argument with Xiao Hei: "What? You've actually developed feelings for them?"

"After all, I'm used to reciting scriptures for them every day..."

"Should I take you down too? It'll be quick."

"Forget it, Master... I suddenly don't think about them as much anymore."

He Yuling never expected that He Chusheng would risk his life to save her, and she never expected that he would be willing to give up his relationship with that vixen and return to Jiangzhen with her.

This moved her deeply, completely oblivious to the calculating glint in He Chusheng's eyes.

When she returned home, she found the house empty, as if her whole family had left in a hurry. This left her bewildered, and He Chusheng was also caught off guard.

If Old Master He isn't here, then all the plans will fall through.

The two of them didn't know what to do. They asked around but found nothing. The He family had moved away overnight and was located outside the city, so no one knew what had happened.

The two had no choice but to stay there temporarily.

He Yuling quickly adjusted her mindset. She felt that it was a good thing that her father was gone, as it would allow her to be with her lover openly and honestly.

He Chusheng thought about it more deeply. He found the shop belonging to the He family and learned that, for some reason, the He family had temporarily moved to their old house in the countryside.

He Yuling didn't care about anything else. She just wanted to get married as soon as possible while Grandpa He was away, so that she could make it a fait accompli and her father wouldn't be able to do anything about it when he came back.

However, He Chusheng didn't think that way. His original plan was to come back and swindle the He family's property so that he could have capital to propose marriage to his enemy. Now that the entire He family had moved away, it disrupted his plan.
