Chapter 916 Fighting Ghosts 16 (1/2)

He used to see He Yuling as charming and beautiful, but now that he has seen the world in the provincial capital and met a lively girl like Qiu Qing, He Chusheng looks at He Yuling with disgust.

What kind of refined lady is she? She's just a country bumpkin!

He Yuling was clearly unaware of this, and was busy preparing for her wedding. She even ordered those who rented her shop not to spread the word that she was coming back, determined to make everything official before her father found out.

Seeing her joy, He Chusheng felt no happiness at all. He thought of the time he had agreed upon with Qiu Qing, and after much deliberation, a wicked plan came to mind.

Jiangzhen was much quieter at night, and Old Tang, the night watchman, was still doing his usual work.

However, he is much bolder now, after all, he has a yellow talisman that his wife got for him to protect him, and he heard that the young Taoist priest is very powerful.

But tonight seemed a little unusual. When Old Tang was about to go home after circling around, he saw a small stall with an oil lamp lit on the previously deserted street. He was startled and couldn't help but think of the legend.

Old Tang wanted to pretend he hadn't seen anything and hurry home, silently chanting Buddhist mantras in his heart. But after taking only a few steps, he felt his body was no longer under his control, and he stumbled towards the stall.

Old Tang was terrified. He felt the yellow talisman he wore on his chest getting hot, but that didn't stop anything.

When he finally reached the stall, Old Tang felt his heart was about to jump out of his chest. Behind the simple stall stood a paper figure!

Her face was pale, with a circle painted on her cheek with peach-pink paint, and her lips were bright red.

The paper figure turned its head slightly, its face showing great joy, but to Old Tang, the smile was utterly chilling.

The stall was filled with food: glistening, fatty meat, whole chickens, and a large pot of porridge bubbling around inside.

Old Tang's gaze gradually became unfocused, and the yellow talisman on his chest gradually lost its heat.

Just as he reached for the bowl of meat, a sound behind him startled Old Tang awake.

"Get lost."

His senses returned instantly, and he turned around abruptly. He saw two people standing behind him, one tall and one short. The tall one was a young man, and the short one was dressed as a Taoist novice. When he turned his head again, he felt a wet touch on his hand. Old Tang looked closely and saw that the fat in his hand had turned into sticky mud, with insects crawling around in it.

He yelled, threw down the dirt, and ran away.

The paper figure looked at Fang Zhiyi, who had ruined its plans, its pale face filled with resentment.

To everyone's surprise, Fang Zhiyi didn't waste any words. He directly pulled open his clothes, looking just like a pirated CD seller. Underneath his robe were all sorts of talismans, and the golden light emanating from them was so bright that the paper figures could hardly open their eyes.

"What are you standing there for? Today is your internship."

Little White nodded repeatedly, then mustered his courage and shouted, "You, you, you bad guy!"

Fang Zhiyi was stunned, and so was the paper figure.

"No, who the hell taught you to talk like that?"
