Chapter 8 Aunt Jun took it all for me

"Whatever you want!" I said and was about to leave when my aunt suddenly sat on the ground and grabbed my pants.

"Everyone come and see! This brat has forgotten his roots!"

When my aunt shouted, everyone looked over here and many people came over.

"His grandfather is sick, and this brat doesn't care at all! How can we country folks come up with 60,000 yuan?"

"He wears designer clothes and lives in the city, doesn't spend a cent, and won't even show up!"

I looked down at my new clothes.

This was bought by Aunt Jun for my college entrance examination. Everyone else’s had theirs checked, so Aunt Jun wanted to buy one for me too.

But a set of clothes costs thousands of dollars, and I can’t bear to part with them. They are just ordinary new clothes, which cost less than two hundred dollars a set. Are they brand names?

But this doesn't stop people from pointing fingers at me.

"This child is unfilial. His grandfather is sick, but he doesn't have the money to even go see him?"

“Children today no longer have that kind of fine tradition.”

“Unfilial!”

Even if we didn't know the people who were talking about me, Aunt Jun and I felt embarrassed. They didn't understand the situation at all and just listened to my aunt's one-sided story.

"That's not what she said at all." Aunt Jun wanted to explain to them, but my aunt continued:

"Don't explain. You must be helping that heartless little bastard. You two are in the same group."

"You!" Aunt Jun was so angry that she wanted to hit him.

"They are in the same group. I am his classmate, so I can talk to him, right?" Pan Duoduo appeared out of nowhere:

"We went to the same school together. His name is Zheng Yang. He was raised by his aunt next door since he was little. We are not related by blood."

"His grandfather's family never took care of them. Now that the old man is sick and needs money, they found Zheng Yang. If you were him, would you take care of them?"

After Pan Duoduo finished speaking, several parents of our key high schools also said:

"We also understand the situation of this classmate's family. He was indeed adopted by this girl, and we have never met anyone from his grandfather's family."

"This child has it hard! He eats and clothes very frugally, and his grades are still top-notch. You haven't raised him for a single day, and now you're asking him for money? Do you have any conscience?"

"Stop embarrassing yourself, you shameless thing."

Now, everyone started to denounce my aunt, and she was completely at a loss. She sat on the ground, not knowing whether to leave or stay.

"What are you looking at? How can he exist without his grandfather? No matter what happens to us, he has to take this money."

She was right, which made the people around her angry. They came up and scolded my aunt for being unreasonable.

"Zheng Yang, Aunt Jun! Let's go. Don't bother with this kind of people."

Pan Duoduo's mother also came and we got in her car together.

"Zheng Yang! Call Aunt Wu!" Aunt Jun refers to Pan Duoduo's mother.

I shouted and Aunt Wu smiled at me.

Then he sighed again:

"Child! Your Aunt Jun really had a hard time. When you went to high school, you needed a household registration book. It was Shao Jun who found your grandfather's family and gave them 5,000 yuan to transfer your household registration."

"Who knew they remembered your home address? When your grandpa got sick, they came looking for him."

At that time, Hei Pi and Xu Yiting had made our house a mess, so Aunt Jun borrowed Aunt Wu's house to live in.

Aunt Wu and Rosacea were getting divorced again, so I helped Aunt Wu investigate Rosacea.

I remembered that the night before going to the bar, Aunt Jun was probably calling my grandfather's family.

During the days of preparing for the exam, Aunt Jun made phone calls without telling me. She must have been contacting my grandfather's family.

It was Aunt Jun who took it all on for me.

"Aunt Jun! I'm sorry for putting you through this." I didn't know what to say, tears welled up in my eyes.

Aunt Jun patted my head and said, "Silly child! Are you still like this with Aunt Jun?"

"I didn't expect they could find this exam center. How shameless!"

"Zheng Yang! Are you sure you don't recognize them as a family?"

Aunt Jun knows me. Every Chinese New Year and other holidays, when I see other families reunited, I always force myself to smile, even though I don’t say anything.

"I'd rather not have such relatives."

"Alright, Zheng Yang! Let's not talk about this anymore. You and our Duoduo have finished your exams, I'll take you to celebrate."

Aunt Wu had booked a restaurant long ago and she took us all there.

The opening remarks were of course congratulations on our successful graduation, and I drank alcohol for the first time.

I didn't find the beer very tasty, it tasted like horse urine.

After just one sip I switched to juice.

Actually, I am not very enthusiastic about Aunt Wu. After all, it was she who asked Aunt Jun to go to places like bars.

But since Aunt Jun is around, I can’t show it.

I didn't talk much, I just listened to Aunt Wu and Aunt Jun chatting, and of course they were talking about how jerk Rosacea was.

Instead, Pan Duoduo came over and whispered, "Zheng Yang! I don't think we can rely solely on your Aunt Jun to check. After all, she doesn't understand accounting."

"How about you help me check it out?"

I didn't take it seriously. Now that I've finished the exam, I'm only thinking about how to make money by selling cheats.

"How can I help?"

Pan Duoduo opened his small bag and took out an account book:

"Look at this."

I took it and looked at it, and it was all data on purchases, inventory, daily consumption, income and tax declarations.

I just took a quick look and found the problem:

“This should be the account that was made, right?”

After I finished speaking, even Aunt Wu looked over:

"Can you see the problem?"

Aunt Jun also looked over.

"You see, although the income, expenditure, and tax declarations all match, the purchases, consumption, and inventory are clearly wrong."
