Chapter 1448 Acquaintances

The Kingdom of Chaolang was too far away to ask for help, but the Kingdom of Izumo was not far away. So, the King of the Sand God Kingdom sent his eldest prince to the Kingdom of Izumo in person.

As a result, before the eldest prince could even leave the territory of the Sand God Kingdom, the Zhou army launched a surprise attack in the middle of the night.

Gu Hui, Princess Jinghe, and He Sanniang joined forces and captured the eldest prince of the Sand God alive. The alliance between Sand God Chuyun and the Sand God was over before it even began.

Gu Xin, on the other hand, had already crossed the snow-capped mountain, but she had fainted from the cold.

They just lay there in the freezing snow.

"Prince, there are people over there!" A loud voice rang out in the early morning. Gu Xin heard it vaguely, but she couldn't move her body. She didn't even have the strength to pick up a jade bead to eat.

Then she heard a somewhat familiar voice.

"Gu Nian?" The prince, dressed in a padded jacket and carrying prey on his horse, exclaimed in surprise upon seeing Gu Xin's face.

"Prince? You know this person?" the subordinate asked in surprise.

This was their first time traveling east to visit Lange Kingdom, and they hadn't seen many people. Yet their prince knew someone.

When Gu Xin heard the name Gu Nian, she mustered her last strength to sit up and look at the person on horseback. Her pupils contracted, then she smiled, closed her eyes, and realized it was someone she knew!

“It’s not her. She looks like someone I met a few years ago.” The prince said, dismounting, walking to Gu Xin’s side, picking her up, putting her on his horse, and riding away.

His men didn't dare ask any more questions and followed him.

...

When Gu Xin woke up again, she was in the desert at night, with a campfire burning nearby, and she felt a little hot.

"Kid, you're awake! You're really lucky. You wouldn't even drink the water I offered you before!" The person taking care of Gu Xin exclaimed in surprise upon noticing her movement.

Gu Xin looked around but didn't say anything.

"Hey kid, look at your lips, they're as dry as tree bark. Let me fetch you some hot water!" The man said, scooping up a bowl of water from the fire and running over to give it to Gu Xin.

Gu Xin still felt weak, but it was much better than when she came down from the snow mountain; she could still catch the bowl.

She brought the bowl to her lips, discreetly placed a jade bead into it, blew on it gently, and slowly sipped the water.

After sipping the hot water, Gu Xin finally felt much better. She suddenly remembered the face she had seen before losing consciousness and quickly looked into the crowd again, but she couldn't find that person.

"Young man, what country are you from? You look refined, like you're from Langge, but your clothes make you seem like you're from Shashen. Our prince is on his way, and it wouldn't be good to leave you on the snowy mountain, so he took you with him." The person next to her asked after she finished drinking the water.

Gu Xin remained silent.

"Hey, you're mute, huh? Then I'll ask you a question, will you nod?" the man said again.

Just then, a jingling sound came from behind. Gu Xin looked over and saw that the thing carrying people was not a horse, but a camel.

Where is she?

People from Langge who came to Kuncheng to do business said that there is a desert to the west of them, and people travel in the desert by camel, not horse.

Has she already passed through Lange?

As they approached on the camel, Gu Xin didn't have time to think. She hadn't been mistaken before she fainted; it was Brother Jin, Xiao Yu's brother Cheng Huaijin, who looked exactly like Xiao Yu.

Cheng Huaijin had already seen Gu Xin wake up. He dismounted from his camel and walked over, looking at Gu Xin and asking, "Young master, are you feeling better?"
