Fortunately, Gu Xin was always lucky, and she didn't encounter any wolves until dawn. However, she was completely lost.
After the sun came out during the day, it wasn't so cold anymore. Gu Xin hugged her blanket, ate two jade beads, and regained her energy.
She sat on a large rock, looked around, and saw no one, but there was a small grove of trees in one direction.
After the stars disappeared, she was completely disoriented. She decided to head towards the grove of trees, in case the Sand God King discovered her disappearance and came looking for her. On this vast grassland that could be seen in one glance, she had nowhere to hide. In the grove, she could at least find some shelter.
Gu Xin has jade beads to eat, but she only gets ten a day. She doesn't dare to eat them all the time, so she still has to go into the forest to find some wild fruits or game.
As they walked into the woods, Gu Xin cursed Yin Yueli to death.
It doesn't look far, why do we have to walk so far?
She almost cried.
She didn't understand why Yin Yueli was treating her this way, and even using Xiao Jin's information to deceive her.
She learned a lesson: if you care about someone or something, don't show it too obviously, otherwise you might be taken advantage of by someone with ulterior motives.
Her legs were about to give out when Gu Xin finally reached the edge of the woods. From a distance, she spotted people in the woods.
She pretended to be stupid again and sat down on the ground with a thud.
In the forest lived a man dressed as a citizen of the Sand God Kingdom. He had a braided hairstyle, wore a fur-trimmed coat, and had jewels hanging from his braid.
He paused for a moment when he saw Gu Xin, then emerged from the woods: "Third Miss Gu?"
Gu Xin stiffened for a moment, staring blankly at the man. She had a strong memory for people, but she didn't remember ever seeing this man before.
The man chuckled: "Miss Gu, I saw you being taken to the royal tent a couple of days ago. How did you end up here? If you say you're stupid, no one will believe you!"
Gu Xin stood up, took out a short knife, and took a few steps back, looking at the man in front of her warily: "Who are you? How do you know me?"
The man smiled and said, "I am from the Kingdom of Sand God. I know that a young lady has come to the royal tent. She is the third daughter of the Gu family in Kuncheng. I saw you being brought in."
Gu Xin pursed her lips and said, "Brave warrior, show me a way back, and I'll reward you! Whatever you want, as long as I can do it, I'll absolutely satisfy you."
The man shook his head: "I'm sorry, Miss Gu. In all my life, the farthest I've ever walked is from the royal tent to here. There are many other places I don't know. As you can see, I came here all alone, without even a guide."
Gu Xin looked at him without saying a word. She wouldn't easily trust someone she didn't know.
Suddenly, Gu Xin sniffed. Wow, it smells so good!
The man laughed even harder: "Miss Gu, I just hunted some wild game and I'm starving. I'm roasting it and eating it now. Would you like to join me?"
Gu Xin hesitated. She was a little hungry. She had been walking for several hours and had only eaten two jade beads. Her stomach was empty.
Jade beads can quench thirst and refresh the mind, but they really can't fill your stomach!
The man turned and ran into the woods, then quickly came out with a roasted chicken skewered on a branch. He tore off a piece and ate it himself before handing it to Gu Xin: "See, I dare to eat it, it's not poisoned. Don't worry, they made sure you had enough to eat and drink in the royal tent, they didn't let you go hungry, why would I poison you?"
Gu Xin asked, "Are you from the Sand God King's court? The king's son?"
