Chapter 1492 Encounter

Bai Er regained his senses, looked around, and frowned, saying, "General, we've almost run out of firewood. We need to find a new place tomorrow."

Lu Zheng nodded: "Okay, let's speed things up tomorrow. Get some rest now. I've sprinkled insect repellent around here; this pack of wolves probably covers everything in the area tonight. Everyone, get some rest!"

Bai Er continued, "General, the water we brought, if we drink it sparingly, will probably last us ten days. Within ten days, we must find a water source, otherwise..."

Lu Zheng nodded: "Understood."

Afterwards, everyone gathered around the fire, covered themselves with thick blankets, and went to sleep.

Not long after he fell asleep, Lu Zheng heard the sounds of fighting and sat up abruptly.

They left and we didn't find them all day, but now there are people here.

He quickly woke up Bai Er and the others, put out the fire, and got everyone onto camels. Bai Shi had difficulty walking, so he rode on a camel with Bai Ba.

Both of them were quite thin, and although they weighed quite a bit together, it was within the camel's carrying capacity.

The sounds of fighting came from the east, the same route they had taken. Lu Zheng picked up a few more wolves, strung them together, and hung them on the camel that had been carrying firewood. He also hung a few wolves on the camel that Bai Shi had been riding before, before continuing westward.

They didn't know how long it would take to find a populated area. Running out of water was terrifying, and running out of food was terrifying too, so they took as much as they could.

As it turned out, they hadn't gone far when they saw light behind them.

Lu Zheng looked back and saw that it seemed that several people were chasing someone and were coming in their direction.

"You surnamed Peng, you can't escape!"

Suddenly, Lu Zheng heard someone laughing, and Bai Er and the others heard it too.

The group stopped, dismounted from the camels, and hid behind them, intending to wait and see what would happen.

Hearing someone with the surname Peng at this critical juncture makes me feel like they know each other.

Sure enough, a group of people caught up with their camel caravan in no time. By the light of their fire, Lu Zheng recognized Peng Ze.

Peng Ze only brought a sword, which Lu Zheng found unreal.

"Bai Er, give General Ze some water!" Lu Zheng shouted, then told Bai Ba, whose hand was uninjured, to draw his bow.

The other side gave them a chance to make a living shot; this was practically making them a sitting duck.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Three of the opponents fell at once, leaving only one.

"call out!"

The last one was also shot dead by Bai Ba.

Peng Ze filled a water bag with water and let out a long breath.

"I didn't expect to actually catch up with you guys!" Peng Ze patted Lu Zheng on the shoulder.

Lu Zheng turned aside; his hand was injured, so he couldn't take the picture.

"Zhou Yuan, we've found our third sister. She's already written home!" Peng Ze said, pursing his lips.

Because of Peng Liulang and Yin Yueli, the Peng family hasn't been able to speak with the Gu family recently. He doesn't blame them; if his own child were harmed by the Gu family, he would probably feel the same way.

"Really?" Lu Zheng was stunned for a moment, his voice becoming somewhat hoarse.

“Really. Let’s leave here first and talk when we’re in a safe place,” Peng Ze suggested. “I’m being pursued by Lang’s army. I stole their map. Let’s go, I know where it’s safe.”

Lu Zheng didn't bother to ask anymore. In his previous life, Peng Ze had always been brave and resourceful. It was just that Yan Mo hadn't died in this life, and he had been tricked by Yan Mo twice.

But Lu Zheng never underestimated Peng Ze; otherwise, Peng Ze would not have been able to escape while being chased by the Lange army.
