Chapter Ninety: Blood-Red Talisman Paper

His boss just gave him a dressing down on the phone, blaming him for taking Xiao Zhang to such a dangerous place. Xiao Zhang's fate is now unknown, and he feels terrible and incredibly guilty.

"Okay, then go out and take a taxi. Let me know when you get home."

After Li Zhiyi left, Jiang Yu and Officer Li got busy again. The previous case was still unsolved, and now Xiao Zhang had disappeared again. Jiang Yu really stayed at the police station all night without closing his eyes.

After Li Zhiyi left the police station, she realized that she had forgotten to mention that the ghost she saw looked exactly like Zhu Jiayin. Could it be that the female ghost saw Zhu Jiayin's appearance and temporarily imitated Zhu Jiayin?

But she always felt something was wrong, because the female ghost didn't look like an imitation, but rather like her own true appearance.

So who exactly is Zhu Jiayin? And what is her relationship with the deceased female ghost? She doesn't believe there are people in the world who look so alike!

Just then, her phone rang. She saw that it was Zhu Jiayin calling her. What could Zhu Jiayin want so late?

When Li Zhiyi answered the phone, she heard Zhu Jiayin sobbing: "Sister Zhiyi, where are you? I'm so scared!"

"What's wrong, Jiayin? Tell me slowly, don't rush me."

"Sister, after I got back to the dorm, I felt very cold. My roommate thought I had a fever, so she took me to the hospital. Now my roommate has left, and I'm the only one left in the hospital getting an IV drip. But I just fell asleep on the hospital bed for a while and I had a strange dream. I dreamt that someone who looks exactly like me was coming to take my life."

"Don't worry, which hospital are you in? I'll come over to you now."

"I'm at the First People's Hospital, on the left side of the nineteenth floor. I'm waiting for your sister."

Li Zhi hung up the phone, hailed a taxi, and arrived on the nineteenth floor ten minutes later. Following Zhu Jiayin's instructions, she went to the left. At this time, there was no one in the corridor, only the faint light from the small nightlights in the corridor.

It was already 2 a.m., and everyone in the hospital should be fast asleep.

Li Zhiyi stood outside each ward door, peering inside, because each door had a transparent glass panel that allowed a view into the room. Finally, she saw Zhu Jiayin sitting on the bed. Zhu Jiayin had also been staring at the door, and upon seeing Li Zhiyi, she happily waved and said, "Sister, I'm here!"

"Why are you in the hospital?" Looking around, I saw that Zhu Jiayin was the only one living in the room.

"After I went back from that haunted building, I felt cold all over and kept shivering. My roommate took my temperature and took me to the hospital. When I woke up, the nurse said my roommate had gone home. I was scared, so I called you. I didn't bother you, did I, sister?"

"No, are you feeling better now?"

"Hmm, but my dreams were so strange. I felt like I was being haunted by something evil. Sister, is it true that you can catch ghosts?"

"Yes, why would I lie to you? But I don't see any yin energy around you right now. You're probably just frightened. Staying here for one night will make you feel better."

Hearing Li Zhiyi's words, Zhu Jiayin felt much more at ease. She nodded. It was too late to go back to school now, and besides, she didn't want to go back to school; it was too unlucky.

As Li Zhi was speaking, she started to doze off. She had been under a lot of tension all night, and now she really felt sleepy.

"Sister, are you sleepy? Why don't you lie down on the hospital bed next to me? There's no one here anyway."

Li Zhiyi glanced at the time; it was already 2:30 AM. She knew she wouldn't be able to sleep much longer, so she agreed and lay down on the hospital bed fully clothed, quickly falling asleep. In the middle of the night, Li Zhiyi vaguely sensed someone standing at her bedside watching her. She opened her eyes and saw Zhu Jiayin alone at the door.

She followed her, "Zhu Jiayin, where are you going?" Li Zhiyi followed Zhu Jiayin all the way to the third basement level of the hospital.

Li Zhiyi felt she shouldn't have come to this place, but her legs wouldn't obey her and she followed Zhu Jiayin to the innermost part of the third basement level.

Li Zhizhi suddenly remembered where he was. Wasn't this the hospital morgue? There were cubicles like drawers where corpses were kept. No wonder it smelled so bad.

"Zhu Jiayin, wake up quickly, don't go in."

Zhu Jiayin walked to a freezer marked number twenty-two, opened the freezer and lay down inside. The freezer then closed automatically.

Li Zhi hurriedly tried to pull open the freezer containing the corpse. It took her a lot of effort to open it. She knew that only the dead would go into this freezer, and she was very anxious to rescue Zhu Jiayin.

As Li Zhiyi pulled open the refrigerated cabinet, the body slowly slid out of the compartment, but Zhu Jiayin's face was covered with a white cloth, the kind used to cover the dead.

Without thinking, Li Zhiyi ripped the white cloth off Zhu Jiayin's face. "Ah!" Li Zhiyi was so frightened that he staggered and almost fell to the ground.

Because what I saw wasn't Zhu Jiayin, it was clearly myself!

Li Zhizhi reached out and chanted an incantation before throwing out talismans. The talismans floated in the air, and only then did Li Zhizhi realize that all of these talismans were blood red, just like the talismans used by that evil sorcerer Fu Xiu last time, and not the yellow talismans she usually used.

At this moment, all the blood-red talismans turned around and faced directly at Li Zhiyi. The blood-red talismans were still dripping blood silently. A drop of blood dripped onto Li Zhiyi's eye. Li Zhiyi reached out to wipe it, but the more he wiped, the more blood flowed.

Li Zhiyi looked at his hands covered in blood, his body ice-cold. The talismans surrounded him like they were besieging bad guys.

Li Zhi turned to leave, when a familiar voice rang out: "Sister, don't go."

"One of you, one of you stay with me!"

"Miss Li, Miss Li, please help me..."

"Sister-in-law, save me..." More and more voices reached her eardrums, and these voices were all familiar to her, making her head throb with pain, but she knew in her heart that it was fake.

Li Zhizhi had a headache and felt nauseous. He squatted on the ground, repeatedly telling himself that it was a hallucination, a hallucination.

However, the blood-red talismans in front of her completely enveloped her. There were so many talismans that they covered her entire body, and Li Zhiyi felt that her mouth, nose, and eyes were almost covered by the talismans.
