Chapter 26 Fire Ants
There just happened to be two incubators in Mo Fei's space.
Both machines are home models and can hatch about 20 eggs at a time. They have automatic egg turning, automatic temperature control, and automatic lighting functions.
Song Yi and Mo Zhicheng were very interested when they heard about hatching eggs, and took the initiative to say that they would be in charge of the two incubators from now on.
Mo Fei was happy to have some free time, so he turned around and went into the room to prepare hot pot.
Hotpot base is the soul of hotpot. Mo Fei did not use the common hotpot bases on the market, but chose to make his own.
What satisfied her most was that this magical big iron pot could automatically adjust the temperature according to what Mo Fei wanted.
The pot is heated when it should be heated and cooled when it should be cooled. Only then did Mo Fei feel that there was nothing wrong with calling it the magic pot.
After the iron pot was dried, Mo Fei threw a piece of butter in. After the butter started to smoke in the pot, he let the temperature cool down slightly, then threw in the prepared onions, scallions, ginger, and garlic, and simmered them over low heat.
Once these ingredients are boiled dry, it's time to add the chili sauce, bean paste and wine.
Sichuan pepper, rock sugar, chicken essence, dried chili peppers and boiled water are added last.
Considering that the two little ones cannot eat spicy food, Mo Fei also prepared a mushroom soup base.
A double-boiled pot is ready.
"The food is served!" Mo Jiayue ran out of the kitchen wearing a small chef's hat and a pink apron with clouds printed on it.
Song Yi and Mo Zhicheng were waiting at the dining table. They first heard their granddaughter's voice, and then saw their grandson pushing a dining cart out.
Mo Jianian introduced in a serious manner: "Today's hot pot has meat dishes such as tripe, spicy beef, pickled pepper beef, marinated beef rolls, lamb rolls, curry chicken, duck intestines, shrimp balls, squid tentacles, and Basa fish fillets."
"Then there are vegetarian dishes, including cabbage, Chinese cabbage, bean sprouts, potato chips, enoki mushrooms, kelp, yuba, vermicelli, and thousand sheets!"
"So many kinds? Can we finish them all?" Song Yi was amused when he heard his grandson name the dishes and teased him.
But Mo Jianian hadn't finished speaking: "There's more."
Mo Jiayue shouted anxiously: "It's my turn to speak!"
"Okay, okay, go ahead." Mo Jianian made a gesture of invitation helplessly.
"Mom also made snacks! Braised chicken feet, crispy pork, and pumpkin pie!" Mo Jiayue shouted.
The three-story food cart was filled with meat, vegetarian dishes, and snacks, all served on rectangular plates. It looked exactly like a hot pot restaurant.
Mo Fei placed his phone on the stand next to him and went into the kitchen. "It's not over yet. There's still dessert. I made these based on the best-selling desserts in the popular hot pot restaurant."
For dessert, she made strawberry snowberg ice, red velvet milk ice, taro ice dumplings, fruit ice jelly, and sour plum soup.
The family sat together, eating hot pot, enjoying the air conditioning, and watching the classic movie "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" projected on the screen.
Smoke was rising from the hot pot and the room was filled with laughter.
In another villa far away, Lin Jiyuan had just finished a set of boxing. When he stopped sweating profusely, his nose suddenly twitched and he vaguely smelled the aroma of hot pot.
The feeling of hunger in the stomach came at the right time.
If it were someone else, they would touch their stomach helplessly to comfort themselves.
But Lin Jiyuan looked down at his body, his eyes as sharp as a knife. After the hunger subsided a little, he expressionlessly tore open the package of a pack of instant noodles and threw it into the gurgling boiling water.
Song Yi was the only one in the family who paid attention to chewing his food slowly, and he also ate the slowest.
When she finished eating, Mo Jianian and Mo Jiayue had already finished eating for a while, but they did not leave and kept waiting by the side.
Song Yi put down her bowl and chopsticks and said, "You two are so nice. You stayed with me to finish the meal."
Mo Fei glanced at the two kids.
The two kids understood what he meant and immediately stepped forward and started to clean up the leftovers on the table.
The two of them worked together, one cleared the bowls and wiped the table, while the other wrapped the unfinished dishes in plastic wrap and put them in the refrigerator, all in an orderly manner, without a single complaint.
The only thing was that the electric hot pot was a bit heavy, so Mo Fei took it away to wash it himself.
Song Yi walked to the sink and said to Mo Fei, "They are still so young, I will do the dishes and pots from now on."
Mo Fei: "Mom, you didn't spoil me like this when I was a kid. You told me to do my own things every day."
Song Yi choked: "Did I say that?"
"Yes. You say it every day." Mo Zhicheng passed by with a cup of freshly brewed tea.
Their education methods for Mo Fei were completely opposite.
When Fei was a child, Mo Zhicheng was the kind father and Song Yi was the strict mother. When Mo Fei grew up, Mo Zhicheng became the strict father and Song Yi became the one who doted on her daughter.
Song Yi rolled her eyes at Mo Zhicheng and said, "What does it have to do with you if I talk to my daughter?"
"Hmph." Mo Zhicheng sat on the recliner next to him and closed his eyes to rest.
Even though she rolled her eyes, Song Yi was still worried about her husband's old waist, so she walked over with a waist pillow and said, "Put this on top!"
"Put this on the cushion!" Mo Jiayue followed suit and shouted to Mo Jianian.
After cleaning the kitchen, Mo Fei found the Chinese text on the iPad and asked Mo Jiayue to study on her own first. If she didn't understand something, she could ask her brother.
After instructing his two children to study on their own in the afternoon, Mo Fei put on his sun protection clothing and pushed a lawn mower out of the villa.
Mo Fei had only moved in for a few days when he discovered that the weeds outside the villa grew as fast as the light and were almost as tall as a man.
The sound of the villa door opening was not small. Mo Jiayue ran to the window and looked in, and asked, "Why didn't Mom take us out?"
"Because you are not even as tall as the grass. If you go in there, Mom and I won't be able to find you."
Mo Jianian replied while staring at the computer screen.
"..." Mo Jiayue was deeply shocked. She couldn't help but run to her brother and jumped up on the spot: "I will grow taller too."
"Yes." Mo Jianian replied. His computer screen was filled with the emergency survival materials that Mo Fei had copied to him earlier: "Have you finished the text? If you have, I will dictate it to you."
"..." Mo Jiayue didn't want to talk anymore. She held up the iPad and changed direction so as not to see her brother's face.
Mo Fei looked at the weeds 20 meters away from the villa. The weather was still hot, but the weeds that should have died in the sun were growing wildly, so dense that the mountain road was almost invisible.
I really don't know if if left alone, they will one day grow taller than the villa.
The lawn mower that Mo Fei bought is a rechargeable one. It is portable, but a bit laborious to use.
After cutting for about five minutes, Mo Fei managed to clear the one-meter area around the gate.
Ten minutes later, another two-meter area was cleared.
"It's itchy." Mo Fei's left arm suddenly felt numb, and then a wave of itchy pain came.
Mo Fei couldn't help but drop the lawn mower in his hand and checked it with his arms folded.
There were several red ants as big as fingernails lying on the sleeve of her left hand.
Mo Fei looked closely and saw that they had two scissors-like things on their heads, which should have evolved from their tentacles.
The scissors' tentacles were extremely sharp and directly cut through Mo Fei's sunscreen shirt and sleeves and penetrated into her skin.
Mo Fei clapped his hands vigorously and jumped around in the same place.
After confirming that there were no red ants on her body, she rolled up her sleeves to look at the wound.
A purple-red wound came into view.
"You are allergic to formic acid. If you don't treat it in time, it will turn purple first, then blister, and finally the whole piece of skin will die."
Someone spoke not far away, his voice was slightly low and a little cold.
This sudden sound shocked Mo Fei more than being bitten by these strange ants.
She looked up suddenly and found a person standing in the space she had just cleared.
He was wearing a grey sun hat, a grey sun-protection shirt, high boots, and carrying a pesticide spray box on his back.
It was him. Mo Fei thought of the man who shot and killed the strange bird that day.
What shocked Mo Fei was that this man was simply elusive.
When did it approach her villa, and what approached her? Could it be that after being bitten by the red ants, she had no awareness of the surrounding movements?
"Who are you?" Mo Fei asked vigilantly, thinking of the fact that this man was holding a gun before.
As long as the person's answer is slightly wrong, she will immediately take out the baton and brass knuckles in the space.
The baton is long enough and hard enough, making it the best choice for dealing with unarmed bad guys.
Brass knuckles are worn on the fingers. Once a bad guy gets close to you, someone like Mo Fei who has not received much training can unexpectedly give the opponent a fatal blow to the eyes and temples.
As if seeing through Mo Fei's guard, the man did not come forward, but just threw a bottle of medicine out of his pocket: "Lin Jiyuan, live there."
He pointed in the direction he came from, which was the villa with lights on that Mo Fei had seen before.
Seeing that Mo Fei was still looking at him and didn't pick up the medicine, Lin Jiyuan spoke again: "That's anti-allergic medicine. Wash your wound several times with soapy water, apply cold compress, and then take this medicine, and your hand will be saved."
Mo Fei doubtfully used his toes to move the bottle of medicine to his feet.
"You don't have to look at me like that. The medicine is not given for free." Lin Jiyuan said coldly.
"Hmm???" Mo Fei was still doubting whether the medicine was real or fake, "What do you want?"
The man in front of him looked at the villa behind Mo Fei with a gloomy expression, as if he didn't know how to start.
After a while, Mo Fei went into the villa and came out again.
Lin Jiyuan retreated far away as Mo Fei requested and stood under a dried tree.
His eyes were empty and his expression seemed even more indifferent. He stood as straight as a tree trunk with the medicine box on his back.
"This dead fish face is standing guard there." Mo Fei said inwardly.
She put the lunch box on a stone on the ground and shouted, "Come and get it yourself."
Then she stepped back to the door, putting herself at a safer distance.
Lin Jiyuan just picked up the lunch box and left without looking back.
He already smelled the aroma.
Spicy braised chicken feet, hot crispy pork... He knew what was inside as soon as he smelled it, and he knew it tasted better than all the fast food in his basement combined.
Mo Fei heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that the man really took the food and left.
In this world, you are not afraid of what others want from you, but you are afraid of others not wanting anything from you. That is what is scary.
This man exchanged medicine for food, which made Mo Fei relax a little.
At least it shows that although this neighbor has a gun, he is not the kind of vicious person who would rob people with violence.
"Damn, it hurts." Mo Fei's thoughts were brought back to reality by the pain in her arm, and she rushed back home to soak in soapy water.
