Gu Yan entered the forest because he had a strong premonition that a secret was hidden there.
As for having Gu Liyan accompany him into the forest, it was entirely because he thought he could get to know Gu Liyan's true nature through interaction. However, after interacting with Gu Liyan, Gu Yan realized he was wrong; this guy was a complete scoundrel!
"I'm tired, can I rest for a bit?" Gu Liyan asked with a wronged expression, and without waiting for Gu Yan's consent, she sat down under the tree to rest.
Gu Yan turned to look at Gu Liyan sitting there, and said angrily, "You've rested four times on this journey, isn't that enough?"
“But I only rest for less than a minute each time…” Gu Liyan said with a bitter face.
“You bastard…” Gu Yan glared at Gu Liyan.
Gu Liyan smiled, leaned against the tree trunk to rest while looking at Gu Yan. Gu Yan felt uncomfortable under his gaze, and soon said impatiently, "Alright, alright, get up and let's go!"
Gu Liyan's eyes widened. "Look, I really only rested for less than a minute."
"Stop talking nonsense! Let's go!"
Gu Liyan stood up but felt dizzy and quickly grabbed a tree next to her for support.
Gu Yan noticed Gu Liyan frowning. "Are you alright?"
Gu Liyan experienced a ringing in her ears and didn't hear Gu Yan's words clearly for a moment. Then, she swayed...
"Hey!" Gu Yan saw Gu Liyan start to sway and hurriedly ran over to support him.
Gu Liyan, panting heavily, leaned against Gu Yan's chest and smiled weakly, "Your embrace...it's so warm...I miss you so much, I want you to hold me forever..."
Gu Yan almost pushed Gu Liyan out. Why was this guy suddenly talking so emotionally? He's not a woman!
Gu Yan shoved Gu Liyan to the ground in an annoyed tone, saying, "Stop daydreaming! I'm not a woman! Get up!"
Gu Liyan fell to the ground, his face covered in cold sweat, and he felt a strange sense of nausea, his expression one of discomfort.
Seeing this, Gu Yan helplessly helped him up. "Are you alright? Don't try to scam me, I'm not falling for it!"
"It hurts so much...it's so painful..." Gu Liyan's eyes welled up with tears, her face full of pain.
Gu Yan sneered, "If you know it's uncomfortable, why don't you get up! Isn't the ground cold?"
Gu Liyan curled up in Gu Yan's arms, murmuring softly, "It's so cold...please hug me...please..."
Gu Yan frowned as she looked at Gu Liyan's trembling body, a sharp pain piercing her heart. "This guy..."
Gu Liyan's clothes were damp, and his body was like a block of ice; no wonder he was so cold. Gu Yan frowned, thinking that Gu Liyan had been walking at the back of the group in such a physical condition, which meant he was also walking behind him…
Gu Yan thought for a moment, then hugged Gu Liyan and snorted, "Hmph, you little fox are such a nuisance! I knew I shouldn't have brought you along!"
Gu Liyan spoke in a daze, "Father, why... don't you believe me?"
Gu Yan was slightly taken aback by Gu Liyan's words. "What?! What did you call me?!"
Gu Liyan didn't speak again and fell asleep in Gu Yan's arms.
Gu Yan looked at Gu Liyan with a furrowed brow and asked, "Father?"
Gu Yan had many questions about Gu Liyan's father; this wasn't the first time he had heard the word "father" from his mouth.
"What secret do you have?" Gu Yan stared at Gu Liyan, his heart unable to calm down for a long time.
Gu Liyan didn't know how long he had slept, but he felt his body temperature gradually return to normal. He then slowly opened his eyes and was surprised to find himself leaning against Gu Yan's chest. He immediately took a few steps back.
Gu Yan looked at Gu Liyan's terrified expression and sneered, "Why weren't you so discreet when you were sleeping together?"
Gu Liyan looked around at her surroundings, pursed her lips, and asked, "Was I...asleep?"
"What do you think? Look! You've drooled all over my clothes!" Gu Yan pointed to the drool stains on his chest.
Gu Liyan awkwardly began, "I'm sorry, I... I didn't mean to..."
Gu Liyan secretly glanced at Gu Yan and cautiously asked, "Um, I didn't say anything I shouldn't have, did I?"
Gu Yan squinted at Gu Liyan. "What? Do you have some secret?"
"No, no, no, I didn't, I didn't!" Gu Liyan waved his hands in a panic.
Gu Yan looked at Gu Liyan with a doubtful expression and asked, "Really not? For example..."
Gu Liyan felt a chill run down her spine under Gu Yan's gaze and subconsciously swallowed.
Gu Yan snorted coldly, not continuing, but patting his behind and saying, "If there's nothing else, let's move on."
Gu Liyan nodded. "Okay."
Gu Liyan followed carefully behind Gu Yan, keeping her distance.
Gu Yan suddenly stopped and turned to stare at Gu Liyan without saying a word.
Gu Liyan blinked, looked at Gu Yan, then looked behind her, and asked in confusion, "Wh-what's wrong?"
“You, walk alongside me!” Gu Yan said, enunciating each word clearly.
Gu Liyan was puzzled. She said "Oh" but followed Gu Yan and walked side by side with him.
After walking for a while, Gu Yan suddenly asked, "Do you want to kill me?"
Gu Liyan was taken aback. "Why would I kill you?"
Gu Yan squinted at Gu Liyan and said, "You've already won half the battle by killing my demon race."
"I don't..." Gu Liyan was about to speak when he saw a faint green light suddenly appear not far behind Gu Yan, and hurriedly said, "Be careful!"
Gu Liyan lunged at Gu Yan, who tried to push her away but suddenly felt a surge of fear. Forgetting to react, she fell into a mud puddle with Gu Liyan with a "plop"!
