After treating the wounds of the three patients, Gu Liyan came out of the room and found Zhang Wei and the others waiting outside. Gu Liyan knew that the reason why Zhang Wei was still there was because he wanted to recruit her into Chuhefang.
Looking at Zhang Wei, who was in the lead, Gu Liyan immediately said, "Let's go to the next room to talk."
The group entered the next room, and Gu Liyan looked at them and said, "I have indeed heard of the Chuhefang organization, but I will not easily join your Chuhefang until I am sure whether it is suitable for me."
Upon hearing Gu Liyan's words, Zhang Wei frowned but remained silent, instead looking at Wang Wen.
Wang Wen pursed his lips, adjusted his glasses, and said, "Brother Mo is right. However, if Brother Mo is interested in joining, you can come to Wangcheng, to the Iron Man Pawnshop. That's our base. Once you go there, you'll understand what kind of organization we are."
Gu Liyan gave Wang Wen a deep look, and began to have some doubts: Why does it seem like Zhang Wei listens to Wang Wen?
Just as the group was talking, Huo Tong ran in and said, "Brother Mo, breakfast is ready."
Gu Liyan nodded, stood up, and said to Zhang Wei and the others, "Let's go. We've been fighting all night and need to replenish our energy."
Several tables in the courtyard were already set with steamed buns and pickled vegetables, but the only thing that looked luxurious was the table with soy milk that had been prepared intentionally.
"Come sit here!" The busy young woman saw Gu Liyan coming over and hurriedly pointed to the seat with soy milk.
Gu Liyan walked over and sat down without ceremony, but as soon as he sat down, Wang Qi plopped down next to him, making Gu Liyan look disgusted. "What are you doing sitting here?"
Wang Qi chuckled, "We're partners, so naturally we'll sit together!"
Gu Liyan rolled her eyes. Who told her about her partner?
Before anyone could see, Wang Qi took a big gulp of the soy milk from the bowl.
Seeing this, the young lady put her hands on her hips and shouted, "Whose girl is this? So ill-mannered! Is this for you to drink? Aren't you afraid of choking to death!"
Wang Qi put down the soy milk, stood up, and, hands on her hips, shouted, "Who are you calling ill-mannered? You put it here for people to drink, right? Why can't I drink it?!"
Just as the young lady was about to get angry, Gu Liyan said, "Forget it, young lady. Anyway, she'll leave after this meal, so there's no need to argue with her."
Hearing Gu Liyan's words, Yao Niang was relieved and said to Gu Liyan with a beaming smile, "I'll prepare some more for you at noon."
Wang Qi angrily pointed at Gu Liyan and shouted, "Hey! What do you mean? Are you trying to kick me out?"
Gu Liyan ate a steamed bun and looked at him, saying, "Weren't you going home? It's so dangerous here, it's better to go back sooner rather than later."
"You..." Wang Qi was so angry that she couldn't speak.
Gu Liyan turned to Zhang Wei and the others and said, "After you finish your meal, escort this young lady back."
Zhang Wei and the others exchanged glances. Seeing Wang Qi's resentful expression, Zhang Wei whispered to Gu Liyan, "Brother Mo, it's not that I'm trying to help you, but this girl has quite a background. If she doesn't want to go back, I'm afraid we won't be able to escort her..."
After Zhang Wei learned Wang Qi's name, he guessed her identity.
Gu Liyan frowned and glanced at Wang Qi. "Hey, when are you going back?"
Wang Qi pouted and said angrily, "I'm not going! I'll spend the rest of my life here, what can you do to me!"
Before Gu Liyan could speak, Yao Niang angrily scolded, "You little vixen, there's no place for you here! Get back to where you came from!"
Wang Qi looked at Gu Liyan with a wronged expression, but Gu Liyan remained unmoved and continued eating his steamed bun.
"Since you don't like me, I'll leave!" Wang Qi said with a glint in her eyes, wiping away her tears as she ran out of the courtyard.
“Brother Mo, this…” Zhang Wei said worriedly.
Gu Liyan finished the last bite of her steamed bun and stood up. "I'll go take a look by myself. You guys continue eating."
Wang Qi sobbed as she walked out of the village, muttering, "That damned Mo Li, he has no sense of chivalry at all! Just because he's a little good-looking doesn't mean he can bully me! Bastard! He's even worse than that pretty boy from the Liu family! All handsome guys are bastards!"
As Wang Qi walked past, the snake-man hiding in the shadows suddenly jumped down from the tree.
"Ah!" Wang Qi exclaimed in fright at the sudden appearance of the snake-man and sat down on the ground with a thud.
"Heh heh~ It's like finding a needle in a haystack! Little girl, we meet again." The snake-man captain flicked his tongue, his eyes filled with gloom.
The snake-man beside him looked at him with resentment in his eyes. Wang Qi recognized him at a glance. It was the same snake-man that Gu Liyan had cut off with a scalpel.
"What, what do you want?" Wang Qi backed away in fright, looking at them with a terrified expression.
"Don't worry, we won't kill you. Just tell me where the guy who injured its tongue is, and we'll let you go!" the snake-man captain said coldly.
Wang Qi looked at them, suppressing her fear, gritted her teeth, and said, "Although that guy is annoying and heartless, what he did for the patients proves that he is a good person. I, Wang Qi, would never betray a good person!"
Hearing Wang Qi's words, the snake-man beside him said, "Don't bother talking to her anymore. She came from that village over there. That person is also there, he must be staying there!"
Upon hearing this, Wang Qi hurriedly stood up, spread her arms, and said, "You are not allowed to go over there!"
"Heh heh~ You overconfident little brat, looks like I have to get rid of you!" the snake-man captain said coldly.
