Chapter 19 Brother was caught hitting someone

Without needing to send anyone to inquire, Xin Jiuwei knew that Qi Huaiyu's appearance at home was at her father's behest.

It seems that after yesterday's events, Father still trusts Qi Huaiyu more.

Xin Jiuwei knew that this matter could not be rushed. After all, everyone knew that she had devoted herself to Qi Huaiyu. Compared to a daughter who was blinded by love, her father naturally trusted Qi Huaiyu, who appeared to be impeccable on the surface, more.

As Xin Jiuwei left the courtyard, she heard the voice of Xunmo, the pageboy beside Qi Huaiyu.

"Throw all of these out. Young Master Qi doesn't need this rubbish to write articles."

Xin Jiuwei stopped at a distance and asked Wang Qing to ask Xun Mo.

Upon seeing her, Xunmo rushed over with a smile, "Third Miss, what brings you here? Are you here to see the young master?"

Xin Jiuwei didn't speak, so Wang Qing asked on her behalf, "Where is Qi Huaiyu?"

Xunmo smiled and said, "Young Master is preparing a welcome dinner for Mr. Ye. It was the head of the family who gave the order. He just ran into the eldest young master, and they went to talk."

Xin Jiuwei frowned, ignored Xun Mo, and turned to leave.

Qi Huaiyu was never well-intentioned, and Xin Yunzhou never got the better of him.

Sure enough, the two were found outside the courtyard. Qi Huaiyu still had that fake smile on his face, while Xin Yunzhou was furious.

Seeing that Xin Yunzhou was about to fly into a rage, Xin Jiuwei quickly spoke up: "Brother."

When Xin Yunzhou saw her, his expression was not as good as yesterday, and he stubbornly refused to look at her.

But Qi Huaiyu spoke first, "Jiuwei, did you rest well yesterday?"

He smiled, but his eyes were gloomy, and even a casual greeting sounded sarcastic to Xin Jiuwei.

Xin Jiuwei sneered, "I'm not as busy as you, so naturally I sleep well."

Qi Huaiyu resumed his tolerant tone, "Since you're here, why don't you try to persuade Brother Xin? He's not in a good mood. I have other business to attend to, so I'll be leaving now."

Xin Yunzhou was furious, "Qi Huaiyu!"

But Qi Huaiyu ignored him and left quickly.

Xin Jiuwei was about to speak to Xin Yunzhou when he turned his back to her, seemingly wanting to leave as well.

"Brother." Xin Jiuwei walked around to stand in front of him. "What's wrong? Did he upset you again?"

Xin Yunzhou said, "Stop pretending. You'd better hurry up and spend time being all lovey-dovey with your Qi Huaiyu."

Xin Jiuwei found him inexplicable. "Where did I say anything affectionate with him? You are my brother, and you are saying such awful things."

Xin Yunzhou said, "Isn't this always the case? Every time you argue with Qi Huaiyu, it's always the other people who suffer. Others sympathize with you, but then you two make up, and we're the ones who get upset for nothing!"

Xin Jiuwei asked, "Where did you see me and Qi Huaiyu make up?"

"If you hadn't sided with him and spoken well of him, would he have returned so quickly?" Xin Yunzhou said with a face full of dissatisfaction. "And Xun Modou was acting arrogantly and domineeringly, I wonder whose lackey he is!"

Xin Jiuwei said seriously, "I have not reconciled with him, and it is impossible for us to ever do so again."

Xin Yunzhou scoffed, "Who would believe that?"

“It’s true,” Xin Jiuwei said. “His return can only be due to Father’s will. Brother, have you ever thought about why, even though I explained it so clearly yesterday, Father still trusts Qi Huaiyu more?”

Xin Yunzhou said, "Isn't it because you always say good things about him?"

Xin Jiuwei said, "I admit that this was my mistake, so I will try my best to make up for it. But is our father really someone who can be swayed by a few words from me?"

“Brother, Qi Huaiyu is too good at pretending. He not only has to perform well in front of Father, but also has to make Father think that the children of the Xin family are incompetent, and that you are incompetent.”

"If you meet him, you must think it over carefully. Qi Huaiyu is meticulous, you..."

"Enough!" Xin Yunzhou suddenly interrupted her. "Yes, yes, Qi Huaiyu is the smartest, and I'm stupid, so what can I do?"

Xin Jiuwei was slightly taken aback, trying to recall which of her words had offended Xin Yunzhou.

“Brother, that’s not what I meant. I’ve never thought you were any less capable than Qi Huaiyu. It’s just that you didn’t study hard enough before.”

Xin Yunzhou got annoyed by her nagging, "Study, study! I'm not as good at studying as him anyway, why do you have to make me compare myself to him?"

Xin Jiuwei paused, a sense of powerlessness rising in her heart.

But she still spoke gently, saying, "Do you really want to be inferior to him for the rest of your life and hand over our Xin family business?"

"So what if I give it up? So what!" Xin Yunzhou retorted, his words becoming somewhat reckless. "Anyway, none of you look down on me, so what do I need the Xin family name for? If Qi Huaiyu wants it, let him have it!"

Xin Jiuwei looked at Xin Yunzhou and was speechless.

Xin Yunzhou regretted what he said, but couldn't take it back, so he simply left.

Xin Jiuwei let out a long sigh.

The older brother has lived in Qi Huaiyu's shadow for a long time, and his inner conflicts are not as easy to resolve as those of his older sister, Xin Xiyao.

We can only proceed gradually, and we need to consider things more carefully from the father's perspective.

Xin Jiuwei was standing in the courtyard when she saw a green leaf fall from the tree above her head.

She stared at the leaves drifting down, and once again deeply felt how meticulous and calculating Qi Huaiyu had been in her past life.

He drove her siblings to the brink of despair, causing them to feel utterly hopeless and never find peace again, ultimately leading to their tragic deaths.

This grudge will have to be settled slowly.

Xin Yunzhou parted on bad terms with his sister, and feeling frustrated watching Qi Huaiyu at home, he simply went out.

He saw Xunmo when he went out and went back to tell Qi Huaiyu.

Do you know where he's going?

Xunmo said, "I heard it from afar; it sounds like they're going to have a drink."
