Extra 2 (Part 1)
In fact, Jiang Qixin and Xu Cheng'an could not remember the scene when they first met.
After all, she was only about one year old at that time, and he was just in kindergarten.
As far as Jiang Qixin could remember, she seemed to have known Xu Cheng'an.
She was a little late in learning to speak, and her speech order was a little out of place at first. She would throw herself into her mother's arms and ask, "When did you meet my brother?"
Her mother would smile and stroke her newly grown frizzy bangs. "We met when you were only one year old." Then she would pinch Jiang Qixin's nose and correct his sentence order. "You got it wrong again. It should be 'when did you meet your brother?'"
"When did you get to know your brother?" Jiang Qixin repeated her mother's words word by word, counting on her fingers. However, she still didn't understand what was wrong with her word order at that time.
There are actually a lot of children of the same age in the community, but it seems that there are only the two of them in their building, so they have been playing together very well since they were young.
Children always have wild ideas. Many children want their parents to give them a brother or sister. Jiang Qixin also had this thought. When she said she wanted a sister or a brother, her mother pinched her nose again and said, "Didn't your Aunt Ye already give you a brother?"
Jiang Qixin glanced up at Xu Cheng'an, who was helping her build blocks, then ran over to him, hugged him, and called him "brother." However, her foot brushed against a block that had been pulled out of the frame, and she nearly fell over him.
Xu Chengan held her little arm and said, "Don't fall."
At that time, he knew very clearly that he had to protect his half-sister.
Jiang Qixin and Xu Cheng'an's parents only had one day off a week, so Saturdays were often the only ones at home. Xu Cheng'an took on the responsibility of helping her with homework and meals.
It was an ordinary Saturday, the weather was a bit gloomy and it seemed like it was going to rain.
Jiang Qixin sat upright at her desk, doing her Chinese homework of copying new words.
She picked up the eraser to erase the wrong words she had written. When she wrote the last word on the notebook, she could finally put down the pencil. She lowered her head to look at her red fingertips and rubbed them because she had written too hard.
"Brother, I've finished writing. Please help me check it." She pushed the notebook next to Xu Cheng'an's arm.
"Okay." Xu Cheng'an, who was sitting next to her, put down his pen, picked up her homework and checked it. Jiang Qixin's handwriting has been very beautiful since she was a child. At an age when others didn't even have the strokes of a pen, she could write neat and regular script.
"No problem. Have you finished your weekend homework?"
She nodded vigorously.
"Want to watch cartoons? I'll open it for you."
Jiang Qixin shook her head and said, "I'll wait here for you to finish your homework." She pointed to Xu Cheng'an's exercise book, which was full of equations that she couldn't understand.
Xu Cheng'an didn't say anything, just touched her head and picked up his pen again.
She propped up her head and looked at Xu Chengan through the light from the study ceiling. Jiang Qixin suddenly leaned closer to him with her hands and said, "I want a kiss."
Jiang Qixin looked up at Xu Cheng'an's clean and fair skin. His round eyes were blinking, and his eyeballs were focused with two lights, looking sparkling.
"What, what?" Xu Cheng'an subconsciously leaned back, his eyes sweeping over her lips. Because she had just drunk water, her lips looked particularly rosy due to the water.
When Xu Chengan finally realized that she was serious, he said decisively, "No."
"Why?" Jiang Qixin was a little anxious and frowned. It seemed that Xu Cheng'an had never refused her request since she was a child.
"I'm a boy and you're a girl, you can't kiss each other casually." Xu Cheng'an told her seriously, wondering where she learned this from.
"But mom and dad and I can kiss each other." She was a little confused. She loved mom and dad, so she could kiss them. She also liked Xu Chengan, so why couldn't they kiss each other?
Children's love is pure and has no gender distinction. Jiang Qixin just thinks Xu Chengan is like her biological brother, like her parents, so it's natural for them to kiss each other.
"No, you'll understand when you grow up." He tried to reason with her.
Jiang Qixin pouted, "Can I kiss you when I grow up?"
Xu Chengan's fair face flushed, and he looked away, "You'll understand when you grow up."
"But I still have a long time to grow up. I really envy adults who don't have to study." Jiang Qixin looked at the layer of water droplets outside the window and said, "It's raining."
Jiang Qixin didn't know why she liked rainy days like this kind of gloomy sky. She became inexplicably excited.
Her interest came and went quickly. Watching a small ant crawling by the window and listening to the sound of rain getting heavier outside, Jiang Qixin's attention had long been diverted, and she completely forgot her idea of kissing Xu Chengan just now.
Xu Cheng'an lowered his head. The equations before him became a little confusing, and he had forgotten the steps in the equation he had just been solving. In his peripheral vision, he could see Jiang Qixin's swaying figure.
He thought, brothers and sisters cannot kiss each other, but when they grow up and fall in love, they can kiss each other.
Fortunately, they were not biological siblings, but neither he nor Jiang Qixin had expected that they would eventually become siblings in name only.
The death of Jiang Qixin's parents came too suddenly. Since then, she no longer likes rainy days.
Because her grandparents are no longer alive and she has no siblings from her parents' side, there are no close relatives who can take on the responsibility of guardianship.
Xu Cheng'an's parents accepted her as other individuals willing to serve as guardians. Although the civil affairs department agreed, because the adoption procedures were more complicated, Xu Cheng'an's parents only served as guardians, not Jiang Qixin's adoptive parents in the legal sense.
But in the eyes of outsiders, they are no different from their adoptive parents.
In order to take care of Jiang Qixin more conveniently, the ten-year-old girl moved to Xu Cheng'an's home. She was very familiar with this home and quickly adapted to the new life.
Time passed by so quickly that she no longer cried secretly when she saw her parents' old photos. She has grown from a little kid into a graceful young lady.
Jiang Qixin has been growing a lot lately, having grown nearly ten centimeters in one semester. The faster she grows, the more likely she'll get hungry.
Jiang Qixin felt a little hungry just after taking a shower. She wiped her hair that was still dripping with water and walked into the study in her slippers.
A room in the house was specially reserved as their study. There were two long desks in the study, with each person sitting at one, but in reality, sometimes they would sit together while working.
The desk is next to the window. Looking out of the window, you can see the darkness enveloping the city. The stars in the city sky are difficult to see clearly, and occasionally only the brightest Venus can be seen clearly.
Jiang Qixin sneezed while wiping her hair. She sniffed and touched her stomach, as if to feel if she had digested her dinner. "I feel a little hungry."
Xu Chengan turned to look at her while sitting at the desk, then closed his eyes and turned back silently, "Why are you wearing this pajamas today?"
Jiang Qixin looked down at her own white thighs and tilted her head to ask, "What's wrong with this pajamas?"
"It's a bit too short." Even in his voice change period, Xu Chengan's voice still sounds very nice.
"Is it very short?" Jiang Qixin subconsciously tugged at the hem of her pajama shorts. "It's been a bit hot lately, summer is coming soon, but I can't find the pajamas I was wearing before. I washed a lot of summer clothes a while ago, and I rummaged through them for a long time before I found this one."
"The waistband is a little tight and doesn't fit me anymore." She lowered her head and touched the rubber band of her pajama shorts.
"But it doesn't matter. You've seen it before." Jiang Qixin walked behind him, put her hands on his shoulders, and seemed to be completely unaware of his red ears.
Xu Cheng'an had also finished washing up for the day, and his body exuded the same shower gel scent as hers.
But Jiang Qixin didn't know why, she always felt that the smell on his body was different from her own.
Her hair had not been completely dried yet, and the water on her hair was sliding down her hair, wetting her shirt in several places.
Xu Chengan looked up and said, "You'll get a headache if you don't dry your hair."
"I don't want to blow-dry my hair." Jiang Qixin pouted.
"I'll help you blow it." Xu Cheng'an sighed with a smile.
He knew that Jiang Qixin was in the habit of not blow-drying her hair. Sometimes, if he didn't help her blow-dry her hair, she might lie on the table with wet hair and do her homework. By the time she finished, her hair would have been almost dried by the wind from the window.
My head just feels a little cold.
He stood up and pulled her to the dressing table, taking her hair towel from her hand, "Your hair has grown a lot longer."
He lowered his head and wiped her hair carefully. The towel was soaked by her hair, and even his palms were wet.
Xu Chengan combed her hair and began to blow-dry her hair.
There was a buzzing sound of wind in his ears. Xu Cheng'an himself couldn't count how many times he had blow-dried her hair. He was just doing the same thing as before.
He just didn't know why, but he always felt a little confused in his heart.
Xu Cheng'an's eyelashes trembled in a panic, and the action of blowing her hair seemed to pause for a moment.
Jiang Qixin saw him lost in thought through the mirror and asked, "Brother, what are you thinking about?"
His thoughts were pulled back by Jiang Qixin's voice. Xu Cheng'an smiled gently and shook his head, "I'm not thinking about anything."
Jiang Qixin turned to look at Xu Chengan suspiciously, "Could it be that the pressure in high school is too great?
Since entering middle school, Jiang Qixin's brain has completely become a study brain, and he rarely even plays games.
So based on her train of thought at that time, she racked her brains but could only wonder if Xu Chengan was under too much academic pressure recently, which was why he was always distracted.
She looked up at him, her eyes burning.
Xu Cheng'an was forced to look into her eyes and accept her gaze. He stood behind her, in a high position, and his eyes naturally swept downwards.
The pajamas she was wearing were obviously a little small, but because the buttons were not fastened, the skin below her neck was exposed.
Xu Chengan buttoned her hair silently and said, "It's okay, continue to blow dry your hair."
"Oh——" Jiang Qixin turned around.
Xu Cheng'an pursed his lips, thinking that he was probably finished.
