Chapter 3

His wrist was held by Min Xi, and she tried to break free several times but failed to pull it out from his hand.

She gave up struggling and pretended to think.

At this moment, she clearly felt that Fu Yanzhou's grip on her loosened a little, and his slender and powerful fingers loosely circled her wrist.

Min Xi glanced at her out of the corner of her eye. He was looking at her leisurely.

Fu Yanzhou couldn't guess whether she really listened to his advice and decided to explain it to each other so that they could save face, or she was just going to go all out.

The silence lasted a minute, maybe longer.

Min Xi finally spoke in a calm tone: "The reason why I blocked you up is not as complicated as you think. You are handsome, not to mention your photos. If I don't block you up, it will disturb my thoughts and affect my overtime work at night."

Fu Yanzhou was speechless and even wanted to laugh.

Her tone was full of sincerity, and there was nothing to fault with it, but the expression on her face at this moment showed that she had lost all hope in life.

It was hard for her to perform so affectionately and seriously what it meant to say one thing and mean another and to show disgust.

She asked, "Is this explanation not too irritating?"

Fu Yanzhou calmed down and nodded helplessly, saying indulgently: "I'm not angry."

But he felt even more upset.

He wanted to hear her tell the real reason, and if it was his problem after she was honest, he would solve it and avoid it in the future, instead of wanting to hear her pretending to agree but actually disobeying her.

It seemed that she didn't want to tell the truth.

He let go of her hand and stood up from the sofa to make way for her, but Min Xi got there before him, walked around him and passed by the coffee table without seeing him stand up.

Fu Yanzhou's watch was lying on the bedside table in the bedroom. Min Xi looked at it for a few seconds and then looked away. It seemed that he would sleep in the second bedroom tonight.

She and Fu Yanzhou had sex several times, but because they were strangers and had no emotional foundation, and it hurt, the first few times the experience was not very good.

Fu Yanzhou was quite considerate of her feelings. He tried to restrain himself every time, and it seemed that he never enjoyed himself enough.

After that, he went to Jiangcheng on a business trip and she also came to Shanghai. They hadn't seen each other for almost two weeks.

Min Xi touched up her makeup in the mirror and re-styled her hair. After that, she changed out of her white trousers whose hems were stained by rain and found an evening dress that she had never worn before from the cloakroom and put it on.

Min Xi was busy shuttling back and forth in the living room, and her figure flashed past Fu Yanzhou's eyes from time to time. She dressed so formally and grandly to celebrate his birthday, and Fu Yanzhou's unhappiness subsided a little.

He locked his phone and put it aside, with nothing to do, his eyes following her figure.

Min Xi was busy arranging flowers and choosing wine for the evening. The few white roses and white lisianthus in the vase were not as white and bright as hers.

She is tall and has a small frame. She is round where she should be, and she is soft and gentle all over.

The custom-made dress perfectly wrapped her well-proportioned and plump figure, and her soft and smooth back was hidden by her long hair, barely visible.

Fu Yanzhou looked for a while before realizing that she was barefoot.

She relied on her height to be able to match the long dress without wearing high heels.

Min Xi had taken off her slippers and left them in front of the sofa carpet, not far from Fu Yanzhou. After she changed into her skirt, she didn't go to him to get them.

"Xixi," he called to her, "Put on your shoes."

Min Xi picked up a bottle of white wine from the wine cabinet and did not respond to him. Instead, she said to herself, "I want to drink white wine."

"Sure, I'll drink with you if you want." Fu Yanzhou pointed at the pair of mid-heeled slippers and said, "Put them on first."

Min Xi didn't feel her bare feet were cold. She put the selected white wine on the dining table and did as Fu Yanzhou said. She took a hot towel and put on her slippers.

The floor at home had just been mopped an hour ago and was spotless. There was no sign of dirt under her feet. She wiped it carefully with a hot towel and dried it.

Before putting on her shoes, she lifted her left foot and rubbed the sole of her foot on Fu Yanzhou's trousers, then repeated the same action with her right foot.

Fu Yanzhou: “…”

He looked helpless: "What's your mentality?"

What other mentality can there be?

A little fun between husband and wife.

But even if she explained, he wouldn't believe her kind gesture.

Min Xi paused for a moment before shaking her head and answering, "I don't know what's going on in my mind either." She looked sincere, "How about you help me analyze it?"

Fu Yanzhou pressed his forehead, speechless.

Min Xi got up and went to the bathroom, washed the towel and hung it on the rack.

Coming out of the bathroom, Fu Yanzhou said to her, "You have to find something to do when you have nothing to do."

Min Xi gave a fake smile, with a nonchalant expression on the surface: "Your analysis is correct."

She thought about how to make him understand that she was not looking for trouble.

"Then please analyze it again. If a man likes a woman who wipes her feet on his pants, what do you think is the woman's mentality?"

Fu Yanzhou didn't understand what he meant: "Please put it simply."

"Then let me use you as an example so that you can analyze more accurately." Min Xi stated: "If, I mean if you have someone you like." In fact, she knew that he had someone he liked, and he once asked her about the woman's recent situation.

The woman was his high school classmate and graduate school classmate, and he asked her about her under the pretext of caring about his classmate.

Later, she confirmed with Yan Heyu that Fu Yanzhou did like his female classmate.

There were no more than three people who knew about this, and she was one of them.

She and he both have their own secrets, but her secrets are related to him, and his have nothing to do with hers.

Min Xi stopped thinking in time and continued: "If the person you like wipes her feet on your pants, how do you think she will feel?"

If someone you like does this to you, would you still think she is just picking on you for no reason?

Would you make a big deal out of such a small matter?

You won't take it seriously.

You will feel that she is just playing with you.

Just because I'm not the person you like, everything I do will be seen in your eyes as me deliberately making things difficult for you.

Min Xi stared at him, waiting for his answer.

"Xixi." Fu Yanzhou's expression did not change, but his voice became serious: "We are husband and wife, I am your husband, it is inappropriate to give such an example."

"Didn't I say it? Hypothesis."

“It’s not appropriate to assume.”

Min Xi didn't expect him to be so serious.

He has someone he likes deep down, so he is so serious about it.

Of course, there is also respect for her in being serious.

She didn't think much when she gave the example just now, and she didn't have any other intentions. She just wanted him to understand that some of her actions were not to pick on him.

"I was ill-considered in giving this example."

Fu Yanzhou looked at her and said nothing more.

The doorbell rang at the right time.

Min Xi went to open the door, and in came the chef, the kitchen assistant, and Secretary Bai.

The kitchen helper carried two large bags of food, and Bai Shan was holding a birthday cake. Her boss asked her to order a cake. She happened to have a document that needed her boss's signature, so she brought the cake with her.

The cake is only six inches long, exquisite and simple. It is made entirely of white cream, paired with a white rose and a white lisianthus. The only decorative color is the green petals on the flowers.

The boss only told her to order a six-inch cake and let her decide the rest on her own.

A six-inch cake was also ordered for the birthday party at noon today. It was obviously the style that girls would like. The boss ordered the cake that Min Xi liked for his own birthday, so she knew what was going on.

She knew that Min Xi liked white roses and white gentian, so she came up with this cake.

"Thank you for your hard work." Min Xi took the cake with a smile.

"It's not hard, it's my job." Bai Shan went to find the boss to sign the documents.

Min Xi opened the cake and everything from the size to the design and color was to her liking.

She doesn’t like large cakes, prefers fresh and simple designs, and she loves these two types of flowers the most. The one who understood her feelings was not Fu Yanzhou, but Secretary Bai.

Min Xi went to the wine cabinet and took out six bottles of red wine. He put two bottles of each in a special wine bag and gave one to the chef and one to the kitchen assistant. This way, if he gave it to Secretary Bai, she would not refuse it because the gift was too expensive.

"Today is Mr. Fu's birthday. Everyone who sees it will get a share of the good fortune of the rich birthday man."

She gave the red wine to Secretary Bai who was leaving after signing.

Bai Shan had a good impression of the third princess of the Min family. Before Min Xi became their boss lady, she had heard that this princess was aloof and difficult to get along with. However, after several contacts, she found that it was not as the rumors said.

She smiled and took it generously: "Then I'd rather obey than be disrespectful. Thank you, rich boss and boss lady."

Fu Yanzhou glanced at the two people chatting and laughing in front of the wine cabinet, and then looked at the red wine in Secretary Bai's hand. That was the wine he collected from all over the world and gave it to Min Xi as a wedding gift. Min Xi particularly likes wine. He puts some wine in every house in the several cities where she often goes on business trips.

She was so generous that she gave away six bottles in one night. If she continued like this, there wouldn't be enough bottles left.

When he saw the red wine, he suddenly remembered that Min Xi had chosen white wine tonight.

Fu Yanzhou got up and went to the kitchen and told the chef: "The wine has been changed to white wine." He had thought Min Xi would choose red wine.

When changing the wine, the meat should also be replaced with one with a lighter taste.

The chef starts preparing.

Fu Yanzhou went back to the bedroom to change clothes. Min Xi put on a tuxedo for this dinner, so he couldn't look too casual. The shirt he was wearing was a cotton casual shirt, not formal enough.

He changed into a white shirt with French cuffs and slowly tucked it into his trousers.

When he came out, Secretary Bai had already left, and Min Xi was sitting at the dining table taking pictures of the cake.

Min Xi looked up and glanced at him between taking pictures, then continued taking pictures. Suddenly, he felt something was wrong, so he looked up again and fixed his gaze on him.

The shirt was changed.

She liked the pleated cuffs he was wearing now; they had a textured feel and made him look more mature and restrained.

Fu Yanzhou took out a lighter and put it on the table to light the candles later.

He sat down opposite her and leaned back.

The chef was still busy in the kitchen. He said in a voice that only the two of them could hear: "The wine that was sent out tonight is sent out. You can keep the remaining wine in the wine cabinet for yourself."

"Are you heartbroken?"

Min Xi was editing photos when he suddenly lost his mood.

She reminded him, "When we got married, you said that all the wine in the house belonged to me, and I could use it as I pleased when entertaining guests or having small gatherings with friends. If you hadn't said that, I wouldn't have been so tactless as to take the initiative to give your wine away."

Fu Yanzhou's face was calm: "Well, I said that the wine is yours to drink as you like, but it doesn't include giving it to others."

“…”

Min Xi smiled.

What a stealth concept.

"It's my fault for not explaining it clearly before. I don't mean to blame you." Fu Yanzhou paused before saying, "Those wines are my wedding gifts to you. Try not to give them to others."

Min Xi was startled: "Wedding gift?"

She herself was unaware of it.

"Why didn't you say it then?"

Fu Yanzhou: "I didn't emphasize it when I gave it to you because these wines are not really expensive gifts. It's just that the process of searching for them was a bit troublesome. I gave you wine to show my sincerity to this marriage."
