Chapter 343 Chao Ge Escapes (2/2)

He discovered that the merfolk went out hunting every day, and there were only two merfolk guarding the water prison, and they were not very strong.

He was secretly delighted, feeling that his opportunity had arrived.

On this day, Zhou An took advantage of the two fishman guards not paying attention and secretly took out a sharp seashell that he had hidden in his sleeve and began to quietly cut the rope on his wrist.

He moved extremely quietly, afraid of making the slightest sound. Time passed slowly, and finally the rope was cut.

Zhou An was overjoyed. He carefully untied the ropes binding his feet and then lunged at one of the fishman guards.

Caught off guard, the merman guard was tackled to the ground by Zhou An. With all his might, Zhou An plunged the seashell in his hand deep into the merman guard's neck.

Blood gushed out, and the merman guard struggled a few times before falling silent.

The other merman guard was horrified when he saw this. Just as he was about to shout, Zhou An pounced on him and ended his life in the same way.

Having dealt with the two murloc guards, Zhou An quickly opened the water prison and ran straight in.

Seeing this, the other humans all followed him and ran away.

Zhou An didn't care about these people; after all, the merfolk could return at any moment, and he needed to escape as soon as possible.

Zhou An fled out of the cave. Carefully avoiding the fish-man patrols along the way, he finally escaped. Everyone was overjoyed at the moment they saw the light of day again.

However, before they could celebrate for long, a group of merfolk spotted them and quickly gave chase.

Zhou An felt despair. He had already come this far, was he still going to be captured?

Zhou An made a snap decision and plunged straight into the water. Even if he died in the water, he didn't want to become fish food!

The icy seawater instantly engulfed him; he struggled desperately, his consciousness gradually fading.

After an unknown amount of time, a sea breeze carrying a salty smell blew against his cheeks. Zhou An suddenly opened his eyes and saw dark clouds looming overhead.

He struggled to sit up and looked around. All around him were large ships, the roar of waves crashing against the hull echoing in his ears.

Where is this?

Wasn't he chased by fishmen and jumped into the sea?

Why are you here?

A sense of doubt welled up in Zhou An's heart, and he propped himself up.

"Zhou An?"

A familiar voice sounded from behind, filled with surprise.

Zhou An turned around abruptly, his pupils shrinking sharply.

The speaker was tall and rugged-looking. A gruesome scar ran from the corner of his left eye across the bridge of his nose to the corner of his right mouth. His eyes were sharp as an eagle's as he sized up Zhou An.

“Brother Wang…” Zhou An’s voice trembled, incredulous.

The person before me was none other than Wang Ba!

The two not only knew each other in real life, but he was also Wang Ba's subordinate in the previous district. After the districts were merged, they were assigned to different districts. Unexpectedly, they met again here!

Zhou An's emotions were churning, and for a moment he didn't know how to react.

"It really is you, kid!" Wang Ba strode forward, patting Zhou An on the shoulder with his large, fan-like hand. "How did you end up like this?"

Wang Ba's tone was teasing, but his eyes revealed concern.

Zhou An smiled bitterly, unsure of where to begin.

"Brother Wang, what's wrong with you..." Zhou An hesitated, his eyes scanning the surroundings.

"Me?" Wang Ba threw his head back and laughed loudly, his voice echoing across the surrounding area. "I saw you all rolling around in the water, so I pulled you all out."

He pointed to the surrounding ships. "These all belong to the Human Restoration Society!! What do you think?!"

Zhou An was shocked. Wang Ba was still the same Wang Ba! He was doing better than him.

"Zhou An, what's wrong with you?" Wang Ba stared intently at Zhou An. "How did you get captured and made a slave?"

Zhou An didn't have a boat, and a person without a boat is essentially stripped of their autonomy as a human being. Usually, there's only one possibility in this situation: he's been captured! Captured and enslaved!

Zhou An fell silent, Gu Xi's name flashing through his mind. That damned Deep Sea Convention!

A sense of humiliation welled up in Zhou An's heart, and he clenched his fists.

"Brother Wang, this is a long story. I think you'll be interested in someone named Gu Xi..." Zhou An briefly recounted his experience. (This chapter has been read. Please click the next chapter to continue reading!)
