Chapter 27 The Irritable Herb Gatherer, Herb Guide Unlocked (2/2)

She found that since she came here, she had become more prone to complaining and her temper was more easily irritated than before, all because of this lousy game that always comes up with these weird and strange settings.

Fortunately, harvesting dragon's blood root requires cutting down the trees along with the plant, but the increase in quantity is still quite good. The only regret is that we didn't get any dragon's blood root seeds.

After another hour, Gu Xi collected 300 Dragon Blood Roots, but he had more wood than Dragon Blood Roots. He successfully listed another 1,000 pieces of wood for trading, but it was still exchanged for iron ingots.

Gu Xi walked deeper into the woods and soon found bitter grass.

This time, she didn't even need any game hints; she figured it out at a glance.

The reason is simple: this kind of grass is too easy to identify. After all, it's rare to see a withered grass growing amidst a patch of green.

Gu Xi squatted down, intending to pull out a bitter grass, but the moment her hand touched the bitter grass, the fresh and tender touch felt as if she were caressing a delicate flower.

"No, you're called Bitter Grass, and you look quite withered, so it's just that your color is like this! That's so deceptive!"

Gu Xi opened her eyes wide, and with a forceful squeeze, pinched the bitter grass until sap flowed out. The red sap oozed from the injured part of the bitter grass, turned purple upon contact with the air, and then vaporized, forming a skull shape in the air. As soon as the rain stopped, the purple vapor vanished instantly.

Gu Xi, who witnessed the strange changes of the bitter grass throughout the whole process, was dumbfounded. After all, with its color and shape, the grass looked poisonous no matter how you looked at it!

Now she was caught in a dilemma, unsure whether to throw the grass away or keep it. Finally, she swallowed hard and decided to put the bitter grass into her backpack.

[Game Hint: Player Gu Xi has discovered five types of medicine, automatically unlocking the medicine encyclopedia.]

Gu Xi put her hands in the rain and used the heavy rain to wash the bitter grass juice off them before opening the light screen. She found that the main interface of the light screen had indeed added more medicine illustrations.

The encyclopedia entries are divided into those that are lit up and those that are not. Gu Xi found the entries she had lit up, and the first page featured Little Hu Ye. The encyclopedia entry not only provided a super clear 3D image of Little Hu Ye, but also added text descriptions.

Small leaves

A 5-day-old herbaceous plant that produces small white flowers and seeds.

It likes water and shade.

"Sigh, they're being really demanding. The vegetables I planted before didn't have this many problems," Gu Xi muttered to herself, then casually flipped over the bitter grass.

bitter grass

A herbaceous plant that grows for 5 days; its seeds are produced from its rhizome.

It likes water and sunlight, and contains mild toxins.

Upon seeing the word "poisonous," Gu Xi gasped, but then remembered that while the poisonous herb on Earth was indeed poisonous, it was also medicine. With the right formula, it could be a valuable resource.

After thinking it through, Gu Xi found the Dragon Blood Root again. She would return to the Dragon Blood Root forest later to collect some seeds.

Dragon Blood Root

Parasitic vines, which can spontaneously grow from trees.

I like to be near trees.

"Huh? That's right."

Gu Xi looked at it again, thinking she had misread it.

"This plant grows automatically, which means it doesn't have seeds?!"

Gu Xi felt a throbbing pain in her forehead.

"Forget it, let's just leave it at that."

After less than half a minute of frustration, Gu Xi decisively gave up on arguing with the game. She would rather use that energy to dig up more bitter herbs.

Calmly closing the interface, Gu Xi carefully dug up the bitter grass, but her thoughts had already drifted to making life-saving potions. (This chapter has been read. Please click the next chapter to continue reading!)
