Chapter 5 Pork Floss Rice Balls The wind on the rooftop was quite noisy.
"Is it strange to call out like that?" Amamiya tilted her head slightly and blinked her eyes, seemingly not thinking there was anything wrong with it at all.
"Of course it's strange! They called me by my name and added an honorific title at the end..." Gong You didn't know how to explain.
"That's what you called me before. It's strange, but I can barely accept it." Miyaji put an arm around Miyayu's shoulder. After the previous chaos ended, their relationship seemed to have been restored.
"Anyway, I think this name is weird, so let's just call us by our names."
Gong You gestured with his lips, and then, in a very familiar manner, pointed to himself as if he were promoting himself.
...Amaho Akina didn't want to call these two people by their names directly. After all, how long had they known each other? Although they seemed to have reached some strange agreement, they had only known each other for a day or two, right?
She didn't want to call them by their names directly; ultimately, she was probably just too embarrassed.
But it seems we can no longer use that old, somewhat awkward-sounding nickname for her.
“Alright, then, Osamu-kun and Yu-kun, it’s nice to meet you.” So Akina Amaho changed her address.
Gong You was finally satisfied: "That's more like it!"
He patted Miyaji's shoulder hard, and Miyaji's expression turned ferocious again.
-
The next day, Akina Amaho sat in the classroom as usual, and as usual, it was very quiet after class, with no one disturbing her.
At noon, she was about to take her lunchbox to a quiet place where she used to stay when suddenly a golden head appeared outside and knocked on their classroom door.
It was Gong You. He seemed to have run all the way here and was still slightly out of breath.
Amamiya instinctively tried to slip away through the back door, but after Miyayu scanned their class, his eyes lit up slightly, and he walked over to Amamiya's side.
She sighed inwardly; it seemed she couldn't escape it today.
"What does Yu-kun want from me?" It can't be that he's in a hurry to ask me to draw something, right?
To some extent, Akina Amaho did indeed learn part of the truth.
"Let's talk as we walk," Gong You said, not wanting to voice his request here.
What if someone else discovers this and steals this fan with huge potential?
Akina Amaho nodded and walked out, while Yuu Miyagi slightly turned his body and followed her out.
"When did these two meet..." In Amamiya's class, someone whispered among themselves, while another shook their head, indicating that they didn't know either.
-
"Well, we agreed yesterday that I would be a model. I'd like to know roughly when that will be," Gong You said.
The sooner the better, of course; he wanted to receive the painting as a gift as soon as possible.
"Didn't we agree yesterday that I would contact Yu-kun over the weekend?" Akina Amami sighed this time.
As expected, it really is just as I imagined. Perhaps Gong You is quite easy to understand in some ways.
"Yes, but didn't Kita-senpai allow Ama to watch the volleyball team play yesterday?"
Gong You hinted.
He wanted to hear Amamiya make a promise, such as promising to draw him first, and he was certain that Amamiya would say that.
“Hmm…actually, you can become a model anytime you want,” said Akina Amami.
It was obvious to the naked eye that Gong You's eyes lit up.
“But—” Just a second later, Akina Amako’s tone changed.
"But?" Miya Yu blinked twice, subconsciously continuing Amamiya Akina's words.
“But I’m very hungry right now, so I have absolutely no energy. Please let me eat first.” When Akina Amaho said this, her tone had turned completely cold.
Although she used polite language, Gong You subconsciously shuddered, feeling that if they continued to argue, something unexpected would happen.
"Let's go to the rooftop for dinner together. Osamu will be waiting there." Miyako didn't want to grab Amamiya's arm directly, so she could only gesture with her eyes for her to hurry up.
Unable to withstand Miyako's glaring gaze, Akina Amane had no choice but to turn around. Originally intending to go downstairs, she now headed up the stairs, with Miyako cheerfully following behind her.
As for Miyaji being there—of course, that's just him making things up!
It was simply to lower Amaho Akina's guard.
He was trying his best to find some time alone, and he wished that Amaho Akina would draw one for him.
Gong You couldn't explain why he was so obsessed with a painting. He had seen plenty of photos of himself before, and he was tired of looking at those photos that showed his handsome appearance.
Perhaps because it was his first time painting, he felt a rare sense of novelty, and the hastily sketched expression did indeed capture his features, making him somewhat envious.
The two of them went up to the rooftop together.
The wind was a bit strong today, blowing open Akina Amaho's bangs. She frowned slightly, a little uncomfortable, and tossed her hair aside.
Gong You sat down beside her, which conveniently blocked the wind, but the wind also ruffled his hair.
Gong You grabbed a handful of hair, feeling a bit annoyed because her hair wouldn't stop falling.
Akina Amaho opened her lunchbox, looked at Yuu Miyako's expression, and couldn't help but smile.
Gong You looked at her, his expression still showing a hint of grievance.
She coughed lightly, picked up a rice ball from the lunchbox, and handed it to Gong You: "Please have this, You-kun."
Well, so don't worry about her laughing out loud just now. She's still quite grateful to Gong You for sitting there and shielding her from the wind. It would be a bit unfair for her to laugh again.
"Mmm, this is delicious." Sure enough, Gong You's attention was diverted.
He took the rice ball that Amaho Akina handed him, took a bite, and his eyes lit up the next second.
Gong You finished the rice ball in a few bites. He savored the taste of the filling and rice mixed together. Although it had cooled down, it was still delicious.
"Is there any more? Is there any more?" Gong You also opened his lunchbox. Today it was pork chop rice. Normally he would be very happy eating it, but now he was only focused on Tian Suimina's lunchbox.
He saw another rice ball inside—hmm, if he eats another one, will Amaho Akina not be full?
So, will my gift of my painting be delayed again?
He thought of it at the worst possible time, so he didn't touch the rice ball.
Akina Amane reached out and scooped up a spoonful of curry rice, then hesitated, wondering whether she should give the remaining rice ball to Yuu Miyamoto as well.
The rice balls were prepared to eat if she got hungry after school, since she often lost track of time when she was practicing drawing.
So it doesn't matter if I give it to someone else.
At the same time, a voice that both of them recognized came from behind: "What are you two doing here?"
That was Miyaji's voice. Miyayu's body stiffened for a moment, then he turned around and looked at Miyaji with a smirk.
At the same time, Akina Amaho's voice rang out: "Hajime-kun, you're here too? Come and sit down."
Miyako stiffened as she recalled the lies she had told to deceive Amaho Akina.
"Ah, I thought Haru-kun had already come up, but he didn't come for a while." Akina Amamiya had already turned around.
Gong Zhi glared at Gong You; he already knew that it was this guy who brought Tian Sui Ming Nai up here.
After class at noon, he also wanted to go find Amaho Akina, but he couldn't find her. He asked other students in her class and found out that Amaho Akina had been taken away by Miya Yu.
“Please have this, Osamu.” Akina Amaho naturally placed another rice ball in Osamu’s hand.
Gong Zhi's eyes lit up, and he magnanimously decided to let bygones be bygones for the time being.
Gong You pouted, feeling a little aggrieved. If Gong Zhi hadn't come, the rice ball would have been his too, but he dared not say anything.
After all, if Miyaji exposes his words in front of Amaho Akina... then he will never be able to hold his head up in front of Amaho Akina.
Gong Zhi stuffed the rice ball into his mouth, took a bite like it was a treasure, and then put it down. He then opened his own lunchbox, which contained the same pork chop rice as Gong You's.
Gong You didn't dare to say much, he just picked at the pork chop rice in his lunchbox.
Akina Amane was also quietly eating her curry rice. The delicious aroma of the curry rice clearly attracted the twins' attention. Although they were very tempted, they couldn't very well steal the girl's lunchbox.
Akina Ameho is finding it increasingly difficult to ignore the two incredibly intense gazes from either side.
She looked up and glanced to the left. Gong You had already turned his face away and continued staring at the lunchbox, looking somewhat guilty.
Looking to his right, Miyaji took another bite of the rice ball, his eyes slightly narrowed, clearly enjoying it.
...Ah, that look of enjoyment touched Amaho Akina's heart.
Her absorbed state and blissful posture inspired her to capture it in her writing.
Just as she finished eating and regained her strength, Akina Amako pulled out a drawing board from somewhere, seemingly something she always carried with her.
Then, with a few strokes, she sketched the scene of Miyaji eating rice balls. Since it was just a sketch, she finished it quickly.
Gong You happened to yawn because he was full.
He was so excited last night that he didn't get enough rest, and he was drowsy in class this morning, so he just fell asleep on his desk.
If it weren't for the teacher's angry shouts, he probably wouldn't have come to his senses.
That's why Miyako didn't notice Akina Amaho's sketch; if he had, he would have started making a huge fuss again.
Miyaji noticed Amaho Akina's actions.
He swallowed the rice ball in a few bites and asked, "Tian Sui, were you just mistaking me for a model?"
Akina Amako paused, then hurriedly stopped writing.
This is a bad habit; when she has inspiration, she may start painting without considering whether others want to be her models.
"I'm sorry, but I was moved by Osamu's expression just now, so I took the liberty of drawing it." As she spoke, she showed the sketch to Osamu.
...It perfectly captured his enjoyment of food, and Miyaji had to admit that it was another attractive painting.
"You don't need to apologize. Becoming a model is a good thing for me."
Of course, when he was bribed with delicious rice balls, Miyaji generously overlooked everything else.
Miya Yu blinked, his attention returning to the drawing that Amamiya Akina was holding—it was Miyaji again!
He stared wide-eyed, but he couldn't very well grab Akina Ama's shoulders and start shaking her, asking her to give him a few shots.
"You promised that I could become a model anytime I wanted?" He looked aggrieved again.
Turning his head, he began to berate Miyaji again: "And you, if you had eaten the rice ball faster, this wouldn't have happened!"
This seems a bit like sophistry.
"But Yu-kun was dozing off just now, wasn't he? It wouldn't look good to draw him like that."
Akina Amaho's casual remark silenced Yuu Miyako once again.
He gritted his teeth: "I'll show you my handsome figure during volleyball practice this afternoon, so be sure to draw me a lot of pictures then!"
He wouldn't accept that; he only saw Miyaji being used as a model by Amaho Akina.
Akina Ameho had no choice but to nod.
