Chapter 3: I didn't expect it to be a brain problem.

Old Mrs. Wu just went on a tirade, demanding they go back to her for money, but they dare not.

Looking at Huang Mancang on the hospital bed, Huang Xiaoguo had no choice but to let Huang Xiaofu take matters into his own hands and start groping around Huang Mancang's body.

Finally, I found twenty yuan and paid the fee at the window.

"Second son, is Dad really gambling?"

Huang Xiaoguo pursed his lips and after a long while, he finally managed to utter a sentence.

From childhood to adulthood, Huang Mancang left early and returned late, sometimes not returning home for days at a time, but Old Lady Wu never mentioned that Huang Mancang gambled.

While the two remained silent, the nurse came out and said, "Okay, the patient has woken up. Take him home."

Huang Xiaoguo's gaze skipped over the nurse and looked at Huang Mancang behind her. "Dad, are you alright?"

Huang Mancang snorted and said irritably, "I won't die. That vicious woman, your mother, dared to stab me with scissors. I'm reporting her to the police when we get back!"

"Let the police arrest her and put her in jail!"

The two Huang brothers exchanged a silent glance, and Huang Xiaofu blurted out something that struck a chord deep within them.

"Dad, the family still relies on Mom to earn money. With your meager earnings, if she weren't here, we'd all be starving..."

Huang Mancang glared at him, and Huang Xiaofu shrank back, but remembering that Old Lady Wu had already agreed to let him marry Fengying, he still tried to raise his head.

He couldn't let his dad ruin things; he still needed Grandma Wu to step in. "Dad, I didn't say anything wrong. Glaring at me won't do any good."

Huang Mancang had just raised his hand when he felt a sharp pain in his chest. "You brat, you're just like your dead mother, destined for bad luck your whole life."

Huang Xiaofu scoffed, "You're just as unlucky as me. Don't think I don't know what he's done."

"Never mind, Dad, if you're alright, I'll go now. I need to rush to Fengying's house to help her do her laundry."

Huang Mancang's eyes widened in anger, "You!"

"Go outside and argue. Didn't you see the sign on the wall? No loud noises!" The nurse pushed open the door, looked at the Huang father and son sternly, and said with displeasure.

Huang Mancang watched Huang Xiaofu's figure disappear around the corner, but upon hearing the nurse's voice, he immediately bowed and smiled apologetically, "I saw him, I saw him, I'm leaving now."

Huang Xiaoguo, young and hot-blooded, was about to confront the nurse when she became so arrogant, but Huang Mancang grabbed him and pulled him away.

Once outside the hospital, Huang Mancang released Huang Xiaoguo, clutching his chest and scolding him irritably, "What's in your head? Is it shit?!"

Seeing that he was still unconvinced, Huang Mancang took off his shoes, pulled out the insole, and slapped Huang Xiaoguo across the face with a loud 'smack'. The stinky insole landed on Huang Xiaoguo's face in one swift motion, without the slightest hesitation.

"You idiot, when we were in school I thought you were just bad at studying, I never thought you were bad at it."

"Do you even know where you are? A hospital! Do you think you're at home? You dare to cause trouble on someone else's turf, do you think you'll get away with it?"

Huang Xiaoguo was caught off guard and inhaled a strong whiff of Huang Mancang's stinky feet. The stench stung his eyes, and he couldn't hear what Huang Mancang was saying.

Many people were coming and going at the hospital entrance. Huang Xiaomin, who had rushed over after hearing the news, blushed as he was stared at. He grabbed Huang Mancang's arm and whispered, "..."

"Dad, let's go home first. There are people watching over us here."

Huang Mancang, panting heavily, threw the insole in his hand to Huang Xiaomin behind him, jumped down the steps, and left quickly.

Huang Xiaomin covered his nose, pinched the smelly insole with two fingers, and moved it away in disgust. It really stank.

When I got home, it was already noon, and everyone in the compound who was supposed to come home for lunch had already returned.

"Hey, Huang Mancang, you just got back from the hospital?"

"Are you blind? Didn't you see the bandage on his chest?"

"Get lost! Did I talk to you?"

Before Huang Mancang could reply, Old Wang's wife from the front yard and Zhou's wife from next door had already put their hands on their hips and were cursing him until their eyes were red and their necks were thick.

Huang Mancang clutched his chest and hurried across the front yard to his home. The house was quiet. Just as he was about to push open the door, he remembered Old Lady Wu and pulled Huang Xiaomin out from behind. "Open the door and see if your mother is home?"

Huang Xiaomin glanced at him speechlessly, stuffed the smelly insole into his arms, and gently pushed the door open with a creak.

The door wasn't locked, and Grandma Wu was home.

Huang Xiaomin was pushing the door open normally when Huang Mancang suddenly tightened his collar behind him, making his heart race as if he were doing something shameful.

"Not dead?"

A voice boomed like thunder in their ears, startling them all. Huang Mancang's scalp tingled, and he quickly hid behind Huang Xiaomin.

Old Mrs. Wu sneered and pushed the door open, "You spineless coward!"

Seeing Huang Mancang like this, Old Lady Wu couldn't understand how she could have been beaten and scolded by such a person for half her life in her previous life, and yet she didn't dare to fight back.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the two brothers, Huang Xiaoguo and Huang Xiaomin, and gave them a cold look.

Huang Mancang pushed Huang Xiaomin and followed Old Lady Wu into the house. As soon as they entered, an enticing aroma wafted into their nostrils.

A bowl of braised pork trotter noodles was placed on the table. Upon seeing this, Huang Mancang raised his lips and glanced at Old Lady Wu. It seemed that she was still afraid of him, otherwise she wouldn't have made a special dish to apologize to him after stabbing him with scissors.

snort!

Fortunately, the injury wasn't serious, otherwise she wouldn't have been spared for a bowl of noodles!

He had just sat down when he was slapped on the back of the head. He looked up and opened his mouth to curse, but Old Lady Wu leaned closer with a sinister look in her eyes and said, "Did I say you ate it?"

Huh? It wasn't made for him.

Huang Mancang's gaze secretly shifted to the scissors in her breast pocket. He swallowed hard and thought, "Well, a wise man doesn't fight a losing battle. I'll let her off this time."

Seeing that there was only one bowl of noodles, Huang Xiaoguo still mustered up his courage and asked, "Mom, why is there only one bowl? We haven't eaten yet."

Grandma Wu swallowed the noodles in her mouth, and without looking up, told him directly, "There's no food for you today. If you want to eat, cook for yourselves."

Huang Xiaoguo frowned. "Mom, why are you like this?"

Old Mrs. Wu snorted coldly. How could she be like this? In her past life, she took good care of her sons and provided them with compensation, wasn't that good enough? She practically ripped out her own heart and lungs to cook for them, and what did she end up like?

No one can assign her any job in this lifetime!

Grandma Wu ignored them and finished the whole meal while the others were drooling. Not a drop of soup was left.

Putting down her chopsticks, facing Huang Xiaoguo's indignation, Old Lady Wu said indifferently, "I'm not Huang's maid. I helped you find a wife so that you two could live a good life, not so that you could fight and have fun every other day."

"If you can't bring your wife back today, don't bother coming back."

Huang Xiaoguo retorted, "I won't take it. If a woman isn't disciplined for three days, she'll be climbing on the roof and tearing off the tiles. She needs to be beaten!"

The veins on Old Mrs. Wu's forehead throbbed repeatedly, and her anger surged upwards.

Seeing that Old Lady Wu had lowered her head, Huang Xiaoguo gave Huang Mancang a smug look.

The next second, Old Lady Wu grabbed him and slapped him across the face without holding back. Huang Xiaoguo was instantly stunned, his face covered in red slap marks, and he froze.

"I'll make you learn, I'll make you learn!"

"Men who beat their wives are all cowards! You really are a descendant of the Huang family. I'll teach you to learn your father's bad habits!"
