The attendant shook his head: "It's not the second young master's."
"Let me take it in for you."
As Wei Teng spoke, he reached out and snatched the box without saying a word. The attendant held on tightly, but Wei Teng gave a signal to his bodyguard, who then appeared quietly and knocked the attendant unconscious with a karate chop.
The box wasn't locked, and Wei Teng opened it with a tumble of his fingers, discovering inside a jade disc that shone brightly.
The old lady exclaimed, "This is the Wei family heirloom!"
Wei Teng was taken aback.
This was the first time he had learned that the Wei family had a family heirloom.
"This person seems to have returned from outside. Did he have someone take the family heirloom out? What was he going to do with it?"
The old lady's face fell, and she said in a deep voice, "Just ask him."
The three of them carried the jade disc into the courtyard.
Wei Zhenghong was lying on the bed in excruciating pain. When he saw them come in, he didn't want to pay them any attention, but when he caught sight of the jade disc in Wei Teng's hand, his heart tightened.
How did you end up with this?
“I just got it back from the thief in the house.”
Wei Teng replied.
"A thief within the family?"
"They are the attendants who are always by your side."
"Nonsense!" Wei Zhenghong said sternly. "That was the one I gave it to him."
What are you going to do with him?
Wei Zhenghong did not answer.
Wei Teng sneered: "You want to give it to Wei Yan, right?"
Seeing that he had been seen through, Wei Zhenghong didn't hide it anymore: "So what if I want to give it to him? You can inherit the Duke's mansion, but he has nothing. It's not too much for me to give him a jade disc."
"He has already severed ties with the Wei family," Wei Teng said angrily. "Why should you give him the family heirloom!"
Wei Zhenghong sighed.
“Even if bones are broken, tendons still connect them. How can blood ties be severed so easily? Whether he acknowledges it or not, he is still a member of the Wei family.”
"Who said he's a member of the Wei family?" the old woman shrieked. "He has absolutely no blood relation to the Wei family!"
