Chapter 26 Returning to the Su Family



Rong Yan stepped forward and knocked on the door. A thin, middle-aged man, about fifty years old, peeked out from inside. His beady eyes sized up the newcomers: "Who are you looking for?"

Rong Yan: "We're not looking for anyone, we're here to buy things."

Expecting the middle-aged man to open the door, they were instead met with shouts: "This is a residence, we don't sell anything. You've come to the wrong place."

Rong Yan scratched his head sheepishly: "Sorry to bother you."

Before he could finish speaking, the door slammed shut.

Rong Yan counted again and confirmed, "The third one, that's right, the jade shop owner is just bluffing me."

Su Lenghe shook her head: "This is the place, but they need some kind of token to get in."

Just then, a middle-aged bald man came up to the door. He knocked on the door, showed the middle-aged man guarding the door a jade pendant in his hand, and then swaggered in.

Su Lenghe: "Su Xueying must have that thing on her. It seems I need to meet her soon."

Standing at the Su family's gate, the maid opened the door, frowning and looking quite disgusted: "What are you doing back here?"

Su Lenghe: "I forgot to take a hair clip earlier, let me get it."

The maid sneered, "Is your life so miserable? You've been kicked out of the house, and you still want to take such a small thing? I really admire your shamelessness."

Hearing the commotion, the butler came over and said to the maid, "Madam wants to have afternoon tea. Go and prepare it quickly."

The maid snorted and strode away.

The butler approached and whispered, "Miss Su, is there something you need?"
