Yi An looked at Su Yan across from her, who was focused on drinking her coffee and remained silent, and a sense of foreboding flashed through her mind.
He glanced around, feigning ignorance, and asked, "Why did you suddenly decide to invite me here for coffee?"
Su Yan curled her lips into a smile, her gaze becoming enigmatic.
"A customer happened to come here and found the coffee to be good, so I thought I'd let you try it."
She paused for a moment, then continued, "However, I think someone as knowledgeable as you must have tasted the delicious food here."
Yi'an tried her best to suppress the unease churning in her heart, putting on a calm demeanor and even feigning humor.
"You're overestimating me. No matter how knowledgeable I am, it's impossible for me to have been to every store."
He lowered his head, took a small sip of coffee, and praised its deliciousness with admiration.
In reality, he didn't even taste the coffee; he just swallowed it whole, like Pigsy eating a ginseng fruit.
"Didn't you just return from studying abroad? How come you still have clients in China?"
Su Yan's eyes were full of smiles. "Speaking of which, I owe my acquaintance with this client to you!"
"Oh? Such a coincidence."
"The world is vast and full of wonders; whether it's just a matter of chance or not, I don't know."
After Su Yan finished speaking meaningfully, she slowly raised her head and looked directly at Yi An.
"Do you remember what I said when we met for the second time? I don't believe in fate; all coincidences are deliberate."
As Yi'an heard her suddenly bring up the past, her unease grew, and her mind became a jumbled mess.
But he couldn't show any emotion on his face; he had to force himself to appear as if he was listening attentively.
Su Yan's unhurried voice continued.
“I remember you told me back then that you would make me believe in the word ‘fate,’ but obviously you didn’t do it.”
She shrugged in disappointment, but her eyes remained cold.
Yi An's smile stiffened slightly. "What do you mean by that?"
"Do you want me to put it more bluntly?" Su Yan asked with a playful smile.
Yi An remained silent, staring at her expressionlessly.
Su Yan succumbed to his silence and shrugged indifferently.
"Okay, then let me make things clear. Mr. Yi is not only an outstanding leader, but also a superb actor. Mr. Yi probably already knows my true identity—a love expert—right?"
Although the words were asked, they carried an unwavering certainty.
Yi An's heart skipped a beat, and her eyes darted around slightly.
Su Yan watched with satisfaction as the panic on his face was exposed, and slowly continued, "Knowing that I was trying to get close to you, Mr. Yi still pretended to be ignorant and played along with me for so long. You've gone to a lot of trouble."
Yi An remained silent for a moment, then raised her eyebrows and let out an enigmatic chuckle.
"When did you find out? Looks like my acting skills aren't up to par."
Seeing that he was becoming smug, Su Yan's smile faded slightly.
"So, Mr. Yi really did know my identity all along?"
Yi An waved her hand dismissively and replied casually, "Yes."
"Who told you that?" Su Yan continued to ask.
Yi An suddenly stopped talking, leaned out, and slowly approached Su Yan.
"Who else do you think it could be? Of course, it's that silly woman, Sun Yinyao. If she hadn't let it slip, I would have been completely fooled by you!"
Suppressing the unpleasant emotions welling up inside her, Su Yan praised with a forced smile, "Then President Yi really is a complete scumbag!"
