Five years later, a plane landed smoothly in M City.
The once bustling arrival area gradually became deserted after groups of relatives and friends gathered.
There was only one woman, wearing long boots even in the middle of summer, standing there, craning her neck in anticipation.
Just as she was getting so anxious that she was about to ignore the airport security personnel and rush in to find out what was going on.
Su Yan walked out unhurriedly, and as soon as she saw her, her face immediately lit up with a smile.
She warmly opened her arms to the woman who was picking her up at the airport.
"Duan Sisi, I'm back."
Duan Sisi felt a lump in her throat and almost burst into tears.
She ran forward and forcefully pulled Su Yan into her arms.
"Woman, you've finally decided to come out! I thought you were going to do what you did last time, run back after landing!"
Faced with her complaints, Su Yan smiled helplessly.
"There's a reason for this. My suitcase was taken by someone. Besides, you still have Xiaoyu as a hostage. Are you afraid I'll run away?"
“That’s true.” Duan Sisi sniffed. “Oh, right, I brought Xiaoyu along too.”
"Light rain."
She called out and turned around, but the seat where Su Xiaoyu had been sitting was now empty.
"Xiaoyu? Xiaoyu was just sitting here a moment ago!"
Panic instantly filled her entire face.
Su Yan's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately turned around to search her surroundings, but she couldn't even see a trace of her daughter.
She panicked completely and started shouting everywhere in the airport, looking for someone.
"Little Rain!!"
Upon hearing the shouts, Su Xiaoyu remained seated on her chair, engrossed in her painting.
The man sat in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing intently outside.
Suddenly, he felt his sleeve being tugged.
He looked down and saw a small, white hand on his clothes. Following the direction of his gaze, he realized that a pink and tender little girl was standing in front of him.
"Who are you?" he asked instinctively.
Su Xiaoyu didn't speak, but blinked her big, dark eyes and looked at him pitifully, like a lost little animal.
The man then speculated, "You can't find your mother?"
Su Xiaoyu hesitated for a moment, then nodded heavily.
The man suddenly realized and stood up. "Then, Uncle will take you to find your mother, okay?"
Su Xiaoyu reached out her little hand and grabbed his little finger, looking up at him with an obedient expression.
The man felt her soft little hand, and couldn't help but smile. Looking down at her adorable face, his heart melted instantly.
He took Su Xiaoyu to the airport service center, explained the whole story to the staff, and then squatted down to gently remind Su Xiaoyu.
"You just wait here for your mother. Auntie will help you find her."
Su Xiaoyu lowered her eyes, as if she was pondering his words. After a while, she raised her head and obediently nodded.
The man smiled and patted her little head. Suddenly, he felt that having such a sweet and gentle little girl was quite nice.
Just as he was about to get up and leave, Su Xiaoyu grabbed his clothes again.
The man turned around, puzzled.
Su Xiaoyu took out a folded piece of paper from the small bag at her waist and gently handed it over.
The man was somewhat surprised. "This is for me?"
Su Xiaoyu nodded heavily.
The man accepted the package with great joy, and just as he was about to open it to see what was inside, his cell phone rang in his pocket.
"Hey, Mr. Yi, the car's parked at the entrance. When are you coming out?"
"immediately."
The man uttered two simple words, patted Su Xiaoyu's head affectionately again, and then reluctantly turned and left.
The secretary, who was waiting anxiously at the door, hurriedly opened the car door as soon as she saw the man come out.
"Mr. Yi, you've finally figured it out."
As soon as the man got into the car, it started immediately and sped away.
The man sitting in the car then slowly unfolded the paper in his hand.
A simple drawing is on the paper. Although the brushstrokes are immature, they do not detract from the beauty of the drawing.
The man's lips unconsciously curled up, and his eyes were overflowing with doting affection.
The secretary noticed his unusual expression and quietly peeked over.
Upon seeing the painting, he felt inexplicably that it looked familiar.
He hesitated, stroking his chin, and tentatively asked, "Isn't this... the limited edition butterfly pendant that you brought back from abroad this time, Mr. Yi?"
The smile on the man's face suddenly froze.
"...?!"
He sprang up suddenly, frantically searching his fanny pack, but couldn't even find a trace of the butterfly.
"That little brat!!!"
At this moment, the butterfly pendant was being held in Su Xiaoyu's small hand.
She examined the pendant from left to right, her lips curving into an uncontrollable smile, her eyes practically overflowing with joy.
She was just about to carefully put the pendant away when her arm was suddenly grabbed, and the next second, she was pulled into a warm embrace.
"Little Rain!"
Holding the tiny body she had lost and found again, Su Yan felt a lump in her throat, and tears almost welled up in her eyes.
Su Xiaoyu was stunned, and the hand that was holding the butterfly pendant slowly fell down.
Duan Sisi breathed a long sigh of relief, "I was so scared! I thought I had really lost Xiaoyu!"
She turned to the staff and thanked them profusely, saying, "Thank you so much, I'm so sorry to have troubled you!"
Su Yan explained the lost suitcase to the staff and registered her information before leading Su Xiaoyu out of the airport.
