"I did it."
Gwen looked in the direction of the voice and saw that it was Victor.
When she heard Viktor say that he did it, she naturally believed him.
After all, Victor's reputation as a third-tier mage was quite prestigious, and dealing with these bandits would be a piece of cake for him.
What are you doing here?
Gwen turned her head away, wondering why Leah had called her over if Victor was there.
She picked up a crystal that shimmered with iridescent light and leaned against Lia.
The color on the crystal gradually faded, and Victor noticed that Lydia also had one on her waist.
The two of them communicated with each other through this magic crystal, which functioned similarly to a telephone with two-way connectivity.
Viktor maintained his stoic, poker face and explained unhurriedly:
“My family’s caravan is near the capital. We’ll come to meet them and take care of these bandits while we’re at it.”
Hearing his explanation, Gwen had no doubts and turned to the Knights, giving them her orders:
"Take a look at those corpses. See if you can recognize any of their faces. Conduct an identification check and then report back to me."
"yes!"
Upon receiving the order, the Knights immediately sprang into action.
"Lia, be careful. Contact me as soon as possible if you are in danger next time."
After giving the orders, Gwen led the group of knights to leave.
After she left, Lia was fuming, her face puffed up like a steamed bun.
She was the one who dealt with these bandits, and she thought she could show off in front of Gwen, but Viktor suddenly appeared and stole her credit.
You understand the principle of not flaunting your wealth better than I do.
Viktor said something understated, and Lydia immediately calmed down.
The caravan was full of our own people, so it didn't matter if they saw us.
But once someone finds out that her magic is released using a prop...
Then she is very likely to be in danger.
As a businesswoman, she never underestimates human greed.
"Hmm...I understand."
Victor was very satisfied because he had successfully educated Lia, and a sense of accomplishment as an older brother welled up within him.
He walked up to Lia and held up one finger.
The dull gem flashed with a red light, and the magic was recharged.
After doing all this, he prepared to leave.
Lia asked him somewhat awkwardly:
"How did you get here? I don't believe what you just told Gwen."
"I sensed that you had cast a spell, so I came to check out out of curiosity."
Viktor turned around and answered her indifferently, his eyes showing no glint of light, his face still as icy as ever.
Hearing Viktor's words, Lia's feelings were somewhat complicated.
She had never been cared for by Viktor in all her life.
But what exactly happened today?
Has this person's brain been twisted?
Did he suddenly have a change of heart and realize the truth?
The three consecutive thoughts about Leah in my mind were quickly explained.
Viktor looked at her quietly and continued:
"The caravan attack might be related to my enemies, but I've lost count of them all, and I don't know exactly who they are. You should be careful."
Lia finally found an opportunity to retort, and with a cold laugh, she mocked him.
"Ha, so you know you're not popular."
She did have some guesses about the origins of the bandits today, but she didn't tell Viktor.
"Have you tested the effects of the medicine?"
"Those mages have all tried it, and they all say it's good."
Viktor suddenly threw out a question, and Lia nodded, her tone filled with undisguised surprise.
The exhausted mages drank a bottle and instantly became energetic again.
Even if she wasn't a mage, she could understand how amazing this effect was.
"This time, the caravan is not just for ore trading; I have already selected shops in the capital."
"There are many adventurers, especially mages. If this kind of thing is sold in a bustling area, it will definitely be a hit."
As Victor listened to Lia's description, he secretly admired her ability to execute orders.
He didn't show it because Victor doesn't know how to praise people.
"If you encounter any difficulties in the capital, I may not be able to help, so please contact Gwen more often."
Lia tilted her head and let out a long "Oh~?".
He looked at Viktor with suspicion.
"you do not know?"
Victor frowned and told Leah not to speak in riddles.
"Gwen will be going on a mission in a few days, and she probably won't be back for at least half a month."
"You're supposed to be her fiancé, and you don't even know this? I think you should tell her to start preparing to remarry sooner rather than later."
While mocking Victor, Lia secretly observed the expression on his face.
Victor was naturally unaware of this matter. He and Gwen had never been in contact, and to be honest, he couldn't even figure out what their relationship was.
Where did she go?
Lia's hope of seeing a change in Victor's expression was dashed; he acted as if she were casually asking a stranger where he was.
Leah was a little bored. She lowered her head and fiddled with the Mage's Hand for a while before giving a perfunctory reply.
"She said she wanted to go to Mount Vesuvius."
"Although it was an extinct volcano, the locals said there were strange noises coming from the mountain, so the emperor sent her to investigate whether the volcano would erupt and to prepare a response plan in advance."
Viktor paused slightly upon hearing the name.
Memories flooded my mind.
That place is not actually an extinct volcano.
