But only Viktor smiled in the end, and then responded with particular seriousness.
"Won't."
"Because the future of the world will be continued by our own hands."
Lia smiled with relief as well.
Yes, the cycle of reincarnation has ended, and the future has been rewritten.
so.
"I trust you."
The future of the world.
"We will continue this tradition."

[The End! Hooray!]
On September 27, 2024, "The Evil God's Lackey" (also known as "The Noble Heiress" and "Starting with a Super Position") officially ended after 526 days!
To be honest, I felt very melancholy after it ended.
Just like the child I created has his own life and no longer needs parental supervision. (Even though the author doesn't even have a girlfriend.)
I usually listen to music while writing, but when it came time to write the final closing remarks, I turned the music off.
After all, this is the first book I've ever finished, and it's also the first time I've ever written a closing statement.
Although I had written on other websites before coming to Tomato, none of them were ever finished.
So strictly speaking, "The Evil God's Lackey" is my first truly dedicated and complete debut novel.
Also, please don't bother looking at my other works on other websites (I've basically deleted them all, and they're really bad, the kind you definitely wouldn't want to see, and even if you did want to see them, I would never tell you).
By the way, let's talk about the thought process behind creating this book.
I am a player who enjoys challenging games. I have played Dark Souls, The Ring, Sekiro, Hollow Knight, and others (Hollow Knight is the one I played the longest because I get motion sickness from 3D games, so I studied Hollow Knight for quite a while).
Currently, the achievements in Hollow Knight include four locks and five doors, and the Pale Prince (a modded boss) with four locks without taking damage.
Honestly, I think he should be considered a master in the gaming field.
Therefore, the protagonist I created in this book is a 'power leveler' who has played all the games.
But anyone with a brain knows that no boosting service can go through a perfect run without ever failing.
So that's right, the above plot (the true ending) is actually a supplementary explanation of Victor's abilities.
In layman's terms, Viktor is an 'AI' implanted with the consciousness of all the players.
In the future, people will create games and embed the AI Viktor into them.
Then, through playing with other players and continuously learning, he became the Victor we know in the later storyline.
Then, Victor, from the first storyline, broke the cycle and sent Lydia into the future timeline.
In the future, through research, Lyra will provide AI Victor with even more powerful abilities.
Incidentally, he also used the system to possess the [Heart Goddess], reminding Viktor to continue the cycle of reincarnation.
That's roughly the story. Then Victor creates a new future, and in another future where the game timeline is created, Lya stores her consciousness back into the new future Lya through a virus.
That's why Lia thought she was having a dream.
The reason I'm explaining this so clearly is because I personally really dislike the so-called Ouroboros storyline.
Actually, I could have ended it much earlier, leaving the plot in suspense and making each of you readers think...
The story as a whole is a cycle; the question of which came first, the chicken or the egg, will always remain a mystery.
However, this is incorrect.
The main conflict in the Ouroboros storyline is that you can't see the beginning or the end.
You can think of every point in the entire plot as both the beginning and the end.
For example.
Take the ending, for example.
Vega will lose the name 'Vega' because he saves Viktor, while Viktor will gain the name Vega.
But when Victor returns to the beginning, gives Vega the name, and then confesses his love for Erica back in the storyline.
He will lose his previous memories due to the appearance of Vega, and believe that he is just a power-leveling player who has transmigrated.
This creates a point of contradiction.
Did Victor give his name to Vega first, or did Vega give his name to Victor first?
This is a classic example of ouroboros logic.
However, what I want to tell you is that even an ouroboros must have a process of connecting its tail.
In other words, there must be a cause for the event; there can be no plot points that are unrelated or without a clear beginning or end.
So how does the ouroboros connect, and how does the closed loop close?
The final ending must be a perfect ending, breaking the closed loop of the story.
That's why there's an initial AI, Victor, in the book.
Finally, there must be a new future, Dr. Victoria.
Personally, I'm an author who really enjoys planting foreshadowing and resolving plot holes. You'll find that many later plot points can be traced back to earlier foreshadowing.
Sometimes, burying something at the beginning and only revealing it at the end is a writing style that works well for me.
That's why, from the very beginning of writing this book, I've made it a habit to conceive the characters from start to finish, and then gradually add the details.
This is a very bold approach for an author like me who has never finished a story, since I never know when I might stop updating. (I'm genuinely surprised that I've never missed an update.)
But sometimes I can't think of everything, since I don't write an outline when I'm creating.
The main process is always in my mind; for me, my head is my outline.
Therefore, some plot points may appear abrupt or disjointed due to lag.
