Chapter 1053 The True Ending – Author's Closing Remarks

She said this without any sign of sadness.

He simply clapped his hands and said directly:

"Alright kids, get out of here and find a dark, filthy sewer to die with us."

"If you're not leaving now, then I'll have to ask you to leave, Leon."

As the last sentence was uttered, the woman in the suit behind him moved slightly.

The researchers were all startled, then suppressed their anger and lowered their heads.

He left like a defeated dog.

Victoria could finally breathe a sigh of relief once the last person had left the laboratory in the elevator.

She forced a smile and looked at the woman in the suit called Leon.

"Come with me?"

She nodded and took a bottle of wine and two glasses directly from the refrigerator next to her.

After filling the glass, one of the glasses was respectfully handed to the other person.

Victoria accepted it with satisfaction and clinked glasses with Leon.

He tilted his head back slightly and downed the red wine in one gulp.

Then, a blush remained on her face.

"He always said I wasn't suited to drinking."

She let out a soft burp and set the wine glass aside.

He then stood up and slowly walked to the deepest part of the laboratory.

drop--

The woman gently pressed the button, and the innermost experimental chamber slowly opened.

Inside, lay a man who had long since lost all signs of life.

He was wearing a trench coat, and his eyes were closed.

Victoria smiled as she looked at the man.

But after laughing, tears streamed down her face.

"I thought I wouldn't cry when I saw him again."

Leon wisely picked up a tissue and wiped away Victoria's tears.

"Thanks."

Victoria nodded and turned back to look at the man.

“After breaking the cycle of reincarnation, I made a request to him.”

"Can you come with me...?"

"But I know he can't bear to see them leave, and I'm destined not to have everything of his."

"So, I hope I can help him."

Victoria gazed at him, her eyes filled with tenderness.

"Even if it means sacrificing countless worlds, as long as it can create a perfect ending for him."

"My waiting will not be in vain."

After rubbing her eyes, Victoria finally smiled.

"Don't be so sad, Leon."

"Even if this world ends, we will still live on in another way, won't we?"

After gently comforting Leon, she pressed the last button.

At this moment, almost all the lights in the laboratory were turned off.

All the remaining energy was used to power this single test chamber.

The test chamber opened, and Victoria lay down inside.

She hugged the man in the test chamber tightly.

Even though his body was stiff, she nestled against his chest with a nostalgic air.

Goodnight, brother.

"I hope that when I wake up, I can still see you."

Buzz—

The test chamber was closed again.

A large amount of black substance broke through the storage tank and flooded the entire laboratory.

Darkness filled the air, suffocating and oppressive, causing consciousness to gradually fade.

The countdown has officially begun.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

"Liya, Liya?"

In a daze, Lia heard someone call her name.

She blinked and woke up again.

What caught my eye was Viktor's somewhat worried gaze.

She blinked, looking somewhat confused.

"elder brother?"

"Hey, nothing's wrong."

Kokot's voice came from the side.

She glanced at Lia, who was being held in Victor's arms, and pursed her lips.

"Could it be that she's faking unconsciousness just so she can get a hug from Viktor?"

Hearing this, Lia blushed, but still retorted:

"How was I supposed to know I would suddenly faint?"

"But just now, I think I had a really long dream."

She was helped up by Victor and was just about to speak.

But she found that many people around her were watching her.

Gwen, Henney, Aurelian, Erica.

Even the raven on Viktor's shoulder blinked, watching her expectantly.

"Well……"

I'd better not say anything.

I felt there was something strange about that dream; it was about a future world where energy was running out and there was only one day left...

With Erica around, the world will never run dry, okay?

Feeling that she would be laughed at if she said it, Lia stood up again.

Then, she coughed lightly, pretending to be calm, as if nothing had happened.

But she always felt the dream was inexplicably real, so Leah grabbed Victor's collar and asked:

"Brother, in the future... will there be an energy shortage, leading to the end of the world?"

Victor paused for a moment, his gaze focusing for a split second as he stared intently at Lia.

For some reason, upon hearing Lia's words, he seemed to understand something.

"What do you mean, the end of the world? Leah, are you sick?"

Gwen came up first and touched Leah's forehead with some concern.

Koko was speechless, and Henney was also a little worried.

Erica and Aurelion, however, exchanged a glance.

"Miss Lia said the energy is depleted... but haven't you been in charge of those calamities all along?"

"I don't know...the professor didn't say."

Everyone suspected that Leah was sick and having nightmares.
