Chapter 30 You say I'm not strong enough?

Suddenly, Gwen looked up, a clear look of horror flashing in her eyes.

“Victor, you weren’t lying…”

Duke Rivi, who had been kneeling on the ground with a blank expression, suddenly raised his head.

Just as Viktor had infuriated everyone, his next words silenced them all.

As Gwen delivered her judgment with a heart full of justice, these words were like a block of ice that had sealed off a volcano for thousands of years, plunging everyone present back into boundless silence.

All the monks present clearly witnessed that scene.

Just as the volcano was about to erupt, an astonishing white light shot into the sky, mercilessly suppressing the volcano.

That is a kind of magic that no human could possess.

At this very moment, Victor surprisingly claims that he prevented the volcanic eruption.

Even Volcano's mother wouldn't dare to think of something like this!

But Gwen actually said, "Victor wasn't lying?"

Looking at everyone's reactions, Aubrey turned to Victor and asked.

"Victor, what is your reason for doing this?"

Viktor knew that Gwen would see through his lies.

He didn't want to think too much about it and simply told the truth about the volcano.

Sincerity is the ultimate weapon.

"Your Majesty, beneath the volcano lies a terrifying monster sealed away, named 'Greton'."

"If we don't deal with this monster now, it will break the seal in a year and a half, causing the volcano to erupt completely."

"By then, the scale of the natural disaster will be enough to devour the heavens and the earth."

The emperor narrowed his eyes and stared at Victor, asking:

"So, you dealt with that monster?"

Victor placed his hands on his chest and bowed slightly.

"I have successfully completed my mission."

At this moment, even if Gwen hadn't come forward to confirm his authenticity...

The monks were all in a panic.

"Your Majesty! Don't believe Victor's lies! He must be making this up to shirk responsibility!"

"That's pure fabrication! How could a magical beast be trapped beneath a volcano? Even if it were, how could Viktor possibly handle such a powerful creature on his own?"

“We all witnessed the magic back then; that kind of magical energy is simply beyond the capabilities of humans!”

"It's certainly not something a third-tier mage of Viktor's caliber could do!"

The surrounding mages once again turned their attention to Victor.

"In our opinion, Victor is lying!"

Only a few third-tier mages remained silent, including Earl Beck.

He looked down at the few mages he was on good terms with, and they were all looking at Beck at the same time.

They both remembered the mad old woman from Sancher.

The legend of the volcano god... is true.

The king turned to look at Gwen, who nodded, indicating that Victor was not lying.

"Knight Commander Gwen, if I remember correctly, you are engaged to Victor, right?"

The second prince spoke as he stepped out from the crowd.

Gwen paused for a moment when she heard his question, then nodded.

“Even when Miss Gwen went to investigate the volcano, the mage she requested to accompany her was Victor.”

“Viktor has been missing for seven or eight days. Don’t you really know what he did?”

The second prince wore a smile, but his words were clearly meant to stab at the heart.

Now, many of the monks realized what was happening.

Gwen, not to be outdone, stared defiantly at the Second Prince and said, "Your Highness, are you questioning me?"

The second prince smiled slightly upon hearing this and nodded.

"Please understand, this is a reasonable suspicion."

The Emperor then spoke up, saying, "Gwen's sense of justice is never wrong."

The second prince bowed to the emperor:

“Father, please allow me to speak frankly, for a righteous heart can indeed distinguish between truth and falsehood in other words.”

"But who can discern the truth or falsehood in Gwen's words?"

The other monks' eyes lit up immediately upon hearing this.

"Yes! Gwen is Victor's fiancée!"

"I was almost fooled by this treacherous couple!"

"The Second Prince is right. How can we discern the truth in Gwen's words?"

The mages were overjoyed; if it weren't for the Second Prince's sudden appearance to save the day, they would have almost been turned around by Victor and his wife.

As expected, the Second Prince is indeed exceptionally intelligent.

Gwen opened her mouth, wanting to explain, but faced with the surrounding mages' questions, she was so anxious that she couldn't utter a single word, and even her eyes turned red with anger.

As a knight, she can protect her country and fight on the battlefield.

But when it comes to using her mouth, she could never match the eloquence of these monks.

"So, Your Highness, are you questioning my abilities?"

At this moment, Viktor spoke up.

He didn't turn around to look at the Second Prince, and none of the mages behind him could see his expression at that moment.

The second prince squinted his eyes and smiled, looking completely at ease.

"Lord Victor, I think everyone here is aware of your talent."

"But in order to conceal your actions, you had to fabricate a so-called magical beast."

"Lord Victor, you are merely a third-tier mage."

"Isn't making such a boast a bit thoughtless?"

His words resonated deeply with people.

With so many third-tier mages present, no one would believe that Victor alone stopped the volcanic eruption.

They couldn't do it, and neither could Victor, who was also a third-tier mage.
