Chapter 35 Pain

Henney, holding her textbook, patiently explained to Professor Delin:

“This is something Professor Victor permitted.”

"Professor Victor is not here, so he asked me to teach in his place."

However, all I got in return was a scornful laugh.

"You're just a teaching assistant, you haven't even crossed the threshold of a first-tier mage, what level of teaching ability can you possibly have?"

"And you're teaching the best class in the academy. Do you know how difficult that is?"

"If the students' grades drop, can you take responsibility?"

The majority of students at the Royal Magic Academy are from noble families, especially in the classes with the most outstanding talents; there are very few commoner students.

To Dewen, it was as ridiculous as a beggar telling an emperor how delicious a steamed bun was that someone like Hennie, who wasn't even a commoner, was teaching this class.

Professor Devon swayed his obese body; just a few steps and a few words were enough to make him feel tired.

He took a handkerchief out of his pocket, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and then put it back in his pocket.

Seeing Professor Devon's demeanor, Henney couldn't help but give him a wide berth.

Instead, Professor German continued:

"Class One should have the best teaching resources. You're going to teach them magic? They're not even civilians, what right do they have to teach!"

"I think you'd better just slink away from the academy like before! Don't let me see you again!"

Delin became more and more excited as he spoke, and his saliva started spraying everywhere.

Fortunately, Hene stood far enough away that the saliva didn't land on her.

Henney retorted, "This is Professor Victor's course. The professor is not at the academy right now, so as his teaching assistant, it is my duty to prepare the course for him. Do you have any questions?"

When Devon heard Henne mention Victor's name several times, his face darkened, and he looked at her coldly, saying:

"You little rascal, you know quite a lot."

"However, you'd better not mention that bastard Victor in front of me."

Henne's face flushed red, her heart pounded, and a spark seemed to fly in her eyes:

"Professor Devon! You are insulting Mr. Victor!"

"Professor Victor is the youngest third-tier mage in the academy! He's incredibly knowledgeable, what makes you say that about him?"

"Why should I say that about him?"

The German professor's voice suddenly rose a few decibels, and he said sarcastically:

"You'd better find out what he's been doing all these days before you talk to me!"

As he spoke, he tossed out a magic stone.

The magic stone stopped in mid-air, spun around once, and slowly lit up, revealing a scene before the two of them.

The scene depicts a volcano about to erupt, with countless mages standing on its slopes, preparing to unleash their war magic. The volcano suddenly trembles, like a raging beast about to unleash its fury.

A blinding white light suddenly illuminated the entire screen.

After that, the magic stone lost its luster, fell to the ground, and rolled to Professor Devon's feet.

Professor Devon moved aside, saw the magic stone at his feet, and picked it up again.

He asked Henne sarcastically, "What did you see?"

Heni was puzzled. She knew about the recent news of a large number of mages leaving the capital, but as a nobody, she naturally had no chance to get in touch with anything about the volcanic eruption.

Therefore, she was naturally unaware of the recent turmoil in the capital.

Now, the German professor has provided an explanation:

"Volcanoes don't erupt naturally!"

"It was done intentionally!"

Henney's body trembled slightly upon hearing this.

Do you want to know who it is?

Henney looked at Professor Devon's cold gaze and had some guesses in her mind, but she immediately dismissed the idea.

Delin seized upon her hesitation and sneered:

"That's right, it's the esteemed Professor Victor you mentioned!"

"He angered nature, causing the volcano to erupt. So, he paid the price for his actions; he died in the volcano!"

Hearing this, Hene shook her head and hurriedly retorted:

"Impossible! How could a professor do such a thing?"

"He's so powerful, how could he possibly die in a volcano!"

Professor Devon shook his head dismissively and continued:

"A refugee is a refugee after all; he almost caused an unstoppable disaster."

"But what about you? Your first concern was whether he was dead or not?"

"Trash is trash! It should stay in the garbage dump instead of coming to the magic academy and polluting the environment!"

Henney's eyes were glazed over. She stood there, repeatedly saying the word "impossible."

Devon shook his head, completely ignoring Henne's shock, and continued:

"This is a fact acknowledged by all mages."

"Soon, the emperor will pronounce judgment on Victor's crimes."

Hene suddenly realized that Professor Devon in front of her was one of the few second-tier mages who hadn't left recently.

Therefore, he did not see it with his own eyes.

Her voice trembled slightly as she asked:

"So you didn't actually see Professor Victor die with your own eyes, right?"

"So what? His crimes are irreparable! Even if he doesn't die, he has no face to remain in the capital!"

Professor Devon became excited at the thought of Viktor's fate, sweating profusely and soaking his thin clothes.
