The sky began to lighten with the first light of dawn, and the sun rose as usual.
Leah returned home yawning, and the family knight at the door opened the door for her.
She was tired after dealing with things all night, but she couldn't go to sleep yet.
Exhausted, she walked to Viktor's room and pushed the door open without hesitation.
"Victor, I need to talk to you about something..."
However, the room was empty.
She didn't even see Viktor's shadow.
This made Liya feel puzzled.
What's going on?
Did Victor leave her behind and go back first?
With doubts in her heart, Lia closed the door, when suddenly a possibility occurred to her.
...
She hurriedly arrived at the training ground and watched as Victor kept swinging his sword in the same motion.
"..."
I remember that not long ago, he still enjoyed reading.
"When exactly did you start practicing swordsmanship? And with whom did you train?"
Lia looked at Victor with some suspicion, then added in disbelief.
"Could it be Gwen?"
Victor didn't even look at her, nor did he respond at all. He simply put the sword away and hung it back on the wall.
Vega took this opportunity to fly onto his shoulder and stand there.
Lia, however, took it as a tacit agreement and was somewhat confused.
When did these two become so close that they practice swordsmanship together?
And isn't Viktor a mage? Is he really planning to change classes?
"how's it going?"
When Victor's voice rang out, Lia finally realized what was going on, and shook her head helplessly as she spread her hands.
"Sigh, he confessed everything."
Well, it was a little boring.
Perhaps the trauma Viktor inflicted on him was too severe, as Lia had not yet used any of the methods she had prepared.
Chur only glanced at the bottle of red potion used for recovery before saying everything he needed to say.
"To put it bluntly, it's the kingdom that's afraid."
Lia began to recount Chur's testimony.
In fact, the kingdom had already begun to take notice of Victor.
When Victor became a third-tier mage at the age of twenty, the kingdom was already considering whether to secretly eliminate such a potential future threat.
However, Victor was a strange man. He was so strange that he never communicated with any nobles, always did things his own way, and looked down on every nobleman equally.
This has led to his extremely poor reputation, to the point that he is universally disliked.
Therefore, the kingdom believed that Victor posed no threat, and if necessary, they might even be able to recruit him.
In the first half of this year, the kingdom found an opportunity for Paichur to secretly infiltrate the Clavenna family as a grain merchant.
This could be used as an opportunity to cause a direct breakdown in relations between Viktor and the Imperial high command.
"The result was that you inexplicably fell ill and confessed your love to the Duke's daughter at her dinner party."
At this point, Lia glanced at Victor with disdain and made a sarcastic remark.
He didn't even know he had a fiancée.
Victor remained silent, knowing that if he replied, Leah would shut him down with even more words.
Soon, Lia continued.
This very moment gave the kingdom an opportunity.
They set out to use this incident to sow discord between the Duke and Victor, forcing the Clevina family to separate from the Empire.
Unfortunately, the kingdom didn't expect that the Duke was a doting father.
Since her trip back from the volcano, Erica's admiration for Victor has reached its peak.
The Duke was willing, but because of this daughter, he was powerless to antagonize Victor.
Then, while the kingdom was still looking for an opportunity to make contact with Victor.
The devil has arrived.
Victor displayed his formidable fourth-tier strength, brutally defeating the demon.
When the royal family learned of this, Victor was won over by them.
The youngest fourth-tier mage ultimately became an enemy of the kingdom.
"The kingdom never expected that you had been hiding your talents for the past nine years and suddenly became a fourth-tier mage, causing the kingdom's decision-making to go astray."
Lia shook her head and sighed.
She hadn't expected Viktor to hide his true abilities either.
"The kingdom's radicals believe that your existence has already posed a threat. You are too young, and if you are not eliminated quickly, you may become the ultimate threat to the empire's destruction and the kingdom's demise."
"So they provided Chur with the anti-magic stone and left loopholes in our territory's finances, all to lure you and me there and forcibly eliminate us."
"Even if the mission fails, Chur can commit suicide by poison, and the kingdom can easily escape."
At this point, Lia chuckled.
Who would have thought that Victor would possess such a magical little vial?
Poisoning? Poisoning can save your life!
"I reckon even Chur thought it was a sure thing back then, but who could have predicted it?"
Lia looked at Victor and covered her mouth, laughing out loud.
"You're actually a mage who can fight in melee."
Even mages who train their physical bodies and use magical tools simultaneously would not choose to engage in close combat with warriors.
But Viktor, a traditional mage, not only dared to do this, he actually won!
It's so dreamlike.
Victor did not respond, because he could tell that Leah had something left to say.
After she finished laughing, she raised her alluring eyes and looked at Victor.
"Actually, your involvement is also related to how Chur managed to infiltrate the territory."
Viktor frowned, somewhat puzzled.
Is it related to him?
"Do you remember that grain merchant from before? His name was Parsons."
