Chapter 22

Chapter 22

The person who came to pick her up at the station was a handsome senior from Shanhe University, who showed his courtesy to Fang Zhao, which made Li Yihong unhappy.

When I came out of the train station, I saw a sign with blue letters on a white background from afar. It said "Shanhe University welcomes all new students to the writing training camp."

As I got closer, I found that the person holding the sign was a handsome guy about 180cm tall, comparable to a male model.

"Hello."

When the handsome guy saw everyone, he greeted them warmly. His sunny and cheerful appearance immediately dispelled everyone's fatigue from the journey.

"Hello, I'm the teacher leading the team, my last name is Shen."

"Hello, Teacher Shen. My name is Wu Zhifan, just call me Zhifan."

Along the way, Wu Zhifan enthusiastically introduced Shanhe University, its history, and several famous teachers in the Chinese Department to everyone.

Wu Zhifan is the president of the Student Union of the Propaganda Department. He is also a recognized "academic master" in the Chinese Department. He is knowledgeable and humorous, and he immediately attracted the attention of all the female classmates.

Even the arrogant Li Yihong couldn't help but look at him a few more times.

"Everyone, just hand me your luggage in an orderly manner, and you can get on the bus."

Arriving at the bus, Wu Zhifan volunteered to act as a porter, loading their luggage one by one into the luggage compartment at the bottom of the bus and stacking them neatly. People often say he's a "weak scholar," but judging by the bulge in Wu Zhifan's arms as he carried the luggage, he truly didn't fit the description at all.

Fang Zhao had no extra luggage except his own small bag, so he was the first to get on the bus and chose a seat in the back row.

Li Yihong was probably still in a bad mood, so she waited until everyone was seated before she followed Wu Zhifan and got into the car with her head lowered.

There were only two empty seats near the front row in the car. Wu Zhifan glanced at them and motioned Li Yihong to sit next to him. He also considerately pulled the curtains on the windows and straightened the seat cushion near the window.

After arriving at Shanhe University, the students who got off the bus quickly merged with students from other schools, and looked at the dream school in front of them with curiosity.

A total of 50 students from across the province were selected for this event. Ten "outstanding campers" will be chosen based on their final competition scores, combined with teachers' scores based on their usual performance, adjusted according to a certain ratio. The top ten will receive priority admission.

It was Fang Zhao’s first time to participate in this kind of activity, and he was very happy to look around.

Colleges and universities with liberal arts majors are indeed different. Even the dead leaves fallen on the ground are so atmospheric.

It would be great if I could convince the little river god to let me transfer to a better school.

Never mind. Consider these ten days of intensive training as a way to experience the thrill of college.

"Okay, students, welcome to Shanhe University."

The president of Shanhe University stood in front and began to give a speech.

"I know these ten days of camp training have been hard-earned for you. After all, you are at a critical period in your lives, and every second counts. As the principal and organizer of this event, I sincerely thank you all."

"As a competition, there will definitely be competition and winners will be determined, but as a training camp, I hope everyone will focus more on maintaining relationships and valuing friendship over results. Finally, I wish everyone can achieve their ideal results."

There was warm applause from the audience.

After the speeches, some instructors came over to claim their classmates. It turned out that the school had already divided everyone into groups based on their names before they arrived.

The groups were randomly arranged, but some thought was put into it. For example, students from the same school were not placed in the same group as much as possible, so that they could better train their adaptability and teamwork skills.

Fang Zhao was assigned to Group A, and An Huainan and Li Yihong were assigned to Group B.

After the groups were determined, everyone went to the dormitory to put their luggage. Today was free time and the school had no other arrangements.

The dormitory the school had booked was a mixed-gender one, with men on the first floor and women on the second. There was a large iron gate between the first and second floors, which locked when the curfew bell rang, preventing any unnecessary trouble at night.

An Huainan first went to the second floor to put Fang Zhao's luggage away, and then ran to the first floor to put his own luggage away.

When Fang Zhao was sitting on the bed waiting for An Huainan, Li Yihong walked in with a red washbasin filled with her toiletries. She was holding the phone in her left hand and talking to the person inside.

"Okay, Mom, I'm hanging up. Got it, I'll go find her."

After hanging up the phone, Li Yihong put the basin under the bed. She noticed someone staring at her. She raised her head and saw it was Fang Zhao. She snorted coldly, turned around and walked out.

Fang Zhao pretended not to see it. He was almost thirty years old and there was no need to get angry with a little girl.

There was no point in just sitting here, so I went downstairs to find An Huainan.

Wu Zhifan was also in An Huainan's dormitory.

Although he wasn't frail, he still had the qualities of a 'liberal arts student'. For example, his face was fair and tender, his features were gentle, and his temperament was clean, giving people a very comfortable feeling. Coupled with his good looks, Wu Zhifan was definitely a presence that could not be ignored when standing in a crowd.

"Here comes a little beauty."

Wu Zhifan turned his head and saw Fang Zhao standing at the door and joked.

He had noticed this unusual couple when he met them at the station. Although Fang Zhao had a darker complexion, his features were truly remarkable: bright eyes, a high nose bridge, and two deep dimples on his palm-sized oval face. His smile was truly captivating.

"Hello, senior, hello everyone, I'm Fang Zhao."

The male students in An Huainan's dormitory immediately stopped what they were doing, stood up and stared at her. Fang Zhao felt a little uncomfortable being stared at.

"Hello, I know you, Fang Zhao."

A boy stood up and reached out to shake Fang Zhao's hand.

"You and I are in the same group. My name is Chen Yingnan. I'll be asking for your advice in the next few days."

Fang Zhao also extended his hand to shake hands with the other party, then smiled and waited for the people in the boys' dormitory to introduce themselves. After chatting for a while, he pulled An Huainan out to find something to eat.

The camp will officially start tomorrow. Food and accommodation will need to be arranged according to the school, so we will not have as much freedom.

The provincial capital is actually quite nice. Although it is located in the north and is far less gentle than the south, it is more rugged and dashing.

It is early spring now, the ice and snow have melted, and it is a good time for an outing.

Fang Zhao and An Huainan walked slowly along the Student Lake of Shanhe University, letting the spring breeze brush across their cheeks, which was really a unique experience.

I have heard for a long time that there is a particularly delicious restaurant at the north gate of Shanhe University. When Fang Zhao was making a travel plan before coming here, he fell in love with it at first sight. Then he had been thinking about it for many days. Finally, he came here and he had to taste the food carefully.

"I want to order all the dishes I want."

"good."

An Huainan rarely expressed any objection to Fang Zhao's words.

"It would be a waste if I can't finish it, what should I do?"

"I'll eat."

Fang Zhao raised his head and looked at An Huainan beside him.

"Then order less. I don't want you to become a fat man one day."

"What's wrong with the fatty?" An Huainan also stopped and looked at her, "Are you disgusted?"

"dislike."

An Huainan looked at the cunning in Fang Zhao's eyes and couldn't help but reach out and pinch the tip of her nose, which was frozen by the late spring cold. "Then I have no choice but to increase my exercise and convert the fat into muscle."

"That won't work either. What if you become more handsome and someone snatches you away?"

Fang Zhao grabbed An Huainan's arm. She didn't want anyone else to take away such a good person like An Huainan.

The two of them walked forward, chatting and laughing, and soon arrived at the door of the store.

It is a restaurant that specializes in Huaiyang cuisine. The decoration of the restaurant is very artistic, with black and white ink paintings blooming on the walls. In order to set off the atmosphere of Jiangnan, the owner even built a pavilion in the center of the restaurant. A shallow channel was dug around the pavilion to draw water, with the intention of "living water from the source".

Fang Zhao chose a secluded spot, with a table surrounded by water plants, which made it quite quiet.

"This, this, and this." Fang Zhao just sat down and picked up the menu to start ordering. "One of this, too, and a big crab—"

An Huainan did not comment, but just looked at the lovely person in front of him with doting. He secretly made up his mind to work harder to make money, otherwise he would not be able to support this little ancestor of his family.

"Okay, please wait a moment, I'll serve you the food right away."

The waiter said this and left with the menu.

Fang Zhao picked up the teacup that An Huainan pushed to his side, took a sip, and slowly admired the artificial landscape around him.

"Teacher An, you're joking."

A familiar voice suddenly came over. Fang Zhao looked in the direction of the voice and sure enough, Li Yihong was also there.

Li Yihong had her back to Fang Zhao and was talking to him excitedly, bursting into laughter from time to time. It seemed that she did not notice Fang Zhao and An Huainan.

Fang Zhao lowered his head, feeling lucky that he had chosen this place, as it was a perfect location for "the enemy is in the open while we are in the dark" and for "spying on military intelligence."

The other person was a middle-aged woman in her fifties, with her hair combed meticulously. She was wearing a white short-sleeved cheongsam and a mink coat of the same color that she had taken off was draped over the chair. She looked like a very sophisticated woman.

"Don't worry, it's no problem. I'll do whatever my daughter asks me to do, and there's nothing I haven't accomplished before."

The woman was very confident. She picked up the red wine glass elegantly, shook it, and took a sip.

Fang Zhao always felt that this woman looked very familiar, but he just couldn't remember where he had seen her.

"What are you looking at?"

An Huainan followed Fang Zhao's gaze and asked, "Isn't this the chief judge who sat on the judging panel during the opening ceremony? Why is he sitting with Li Yihong?"

After hearing what An Huainan said, Fang Zhao realized that it was indeed her.

It seems that the relationship between the two is quite close, and they both call each other godmother and goddaughter.

It seems that it is no coincidence that she is in the same group with An Huainan.

After working for seven years and seeing the dark side of the workplace, Fang Zhao couldn't help but grit his teeth.

"There are shady dealings every year, but this year there are especially many."
