Chapter 23
The students were divided into five groups, each with a teacher. The teacher in Fang Zhao's group was Wu Zhifan.
Maybe because they met yesterday, Wu Zhifan took extra care of Fang Zhao.
In the morning, there was a writing class. A very humorous professor was giving the lecture. The classroom tasks assigned by the professor were also recorded as the group's scores according to the group. The basic scores of the group members with high scores would be increased.
Wu Zhifan has been secretly encouraging everyone to raise their hands to answer questions and increase their scores.
Fang Zhao listened to the lecture attentively, but after all, he was not a liberal arts major, so he had only some interest and only had a vague understanding of the history and politics explained by the teacher, so he decided to be a quiet audience. Half of the class was in session, and he had not answered a single question.
"What's wrong? Is there any difficulty?"
Wu Zhifan asked Fang Zhao privately.
"I'm a science student, so I really can't answer these historical questions."
Fang Zhao smiled helplessly. It seemed that there was some truth in dividing the college entrance examination majors into liberal arts and science.
Wu Zhifan nodded in understanding. When he was in college, there were many "warriors" who switched their majors from science classes. It was indeed difficult to keep up with them, as there was a lot to learn and memorize.
"How about this, I'll get you some books later. Read them carefully and try to answer a few questions in the next class to increase your marks."
"Is that really possible? Thank you in advance, Senior Wu."
Fang Zhao smiled sweetly, and Wu Zhifan felt as if something in his heart was hit, and his face unconsciously became hot.
"No, you're welcome."
After the first part of the lecture, the professor assigned a topic: "Select one or two female characters from A Dream of Red Mansions and analyze the techniques used to create their characters."
After the assignment was completed, we started to discuss in small groups. Each group finally selected the best paper, which was presented in the evening and then evaluated based on the scores.
Fang Zhao was very satisfied with this topic. After all, her favorite big book was "Dream of Red Mansions". She had read it over and over again many times and could recite many chapters.
Wu Zhifan took everyone through the female characters in the novel, then emphasized the professor's preferred writing style, and let everyone create independently.
After all, every student has his or her own creative preferences. In order to ensure the quality of creation, we still have to respect everyone's habits.
"At four o'clock in the afternoon, we will gather in the classroom and then conduct the selection."
After Wu Zhifan finished speaking, everyone dispersed on the spot. Some people chose to finish their training in the classroom and then return to the dormitory, while others went directly to the library.
The teacher leading An Huainan's group was the same teacher I met last night. She was wearing a dark green traditional Chinese dress and was explaining something to everyone in a serious tone. It didn't look like she was going to finish it for a while.
"I'm going to the library."
Fang Zhao sent a message to An Huainan, then walked towards the library alone with his schoolbag on his back.
"Fang Zhao!"
Wu Zhifan rushed up from behind, holding a few books. "Are you going to the library? Perfect, let's go together."
“Does the university still have so many courses?”
Fang Zhao looked at the piles of books in Wu Zhifan's arms in shock. It was true that liberal arts majors were different from science majors. When she went to class back then, a textbook and a pen were enough, and at most a notebook.
“There aren’t that many courses, but there’s a lot of information to look up, so time is still very tight.”
"Ah, our teacher also said that it would be easier after going to college."
Fang Zhao pretended to be surprised.
"Haha, if you want to take it easy, that's fine. But once you go to college, you'll be an adult and responsible for your own future, so you have to study harder."
Wu Zhifan finished speaking and smiled mysteriously, "I have already applied for a position as a teaching assistant at the school. If nothing goes wrong, I can assist in teaching during my graduate studies."
"Wow, you're awesome, Senior."
Fang Zhao was sincere this time. The number of teaching assistant positions was very limited every year, and those who could get them were all good young people with both good character and good academic performance.
"It's okay." Wu Zhifan's face flushed slightly pink at the compliment, and he scratched the back of his head a little embarrassedly. "It's just right that we're going to the library. I can help you find some relevant books."
After Fang Zhao left, An Huainan saw the text message and wanted to chase after her, but he couldn't resist Teacher An's "enthusiasm".
Out of respect for the teacher, An Huainan had to patiently listen to Teacher An's instructions.
"Analyzing characters is different from analyzing scenery. We need to list all the events that happened to this character in the book and analyze their personality one by one—"
Teacher An's eyes were always on Li Yihong. After all, she was her goddaughter. Although it was a bit of a waste of her talent for her to come to Shanhe University, she would not allow her child to be overshadowed by others.
By the time Teacher An finished his class, the clock at the back of the classroom had already reached noon.
An Huainan glanced at his phone. There was no message. Fang Zhao was still in the library.
"Huainan, let's go to the cafeteria to have lunch together."
Li Yihong invited him while packing her textbooks, as if they had a very good relationship.
"I still have to go to the library."
After An Huainan finished speaking, he picked up the backpack on the table, threw it on his back, and walked out.
Li Yihong pouted. She knew in her heart that he was going to find Fang Zhao, but she still felt a little unwilling.
"Want to go eat?"
An Huainan sent a message, but Fang Zhao didn't reply.
"We're done, are you hungry?"
Fang Zhao still didn't reply.
An Huainan waited for a while, then simply walked into the library to look for her himself.
The books on humanities and social sciences are on the second floor. As soon as I turned the stairs, I saw Fang Zhao and Wu Zhifan sitting together at the desk on the outside of the second floor.
There was a book spread out in front of Wu Zhifan, with his finger pointing at something on the book. Fang Zhao turned sideways to look at where he was pointing. The two were chatting happily.
A trace of unhappiness flashed through An Huainan's heart, and he walked over and stood next to Fang Zhao.
"That's what this story means. I thought the author only criticized her and didn't praise her."
Fang Zhao had a look of sudden enlightenment on his face, and didn't notice An Huainan standing behind him at all.
"Your little boyfriend is here." Wu Zhifan joked, pulling the book in his hand to his side.
"Huainan, are you done?"
When Fang Zhao saw An Huainan, he couldn't suppress the joy on his face, and the unhappiness that had just flashed through An Huainan's mind was also cured.
"I'm starving, let's go eat."
After Fang Zhao packed up her books, An Huainan consciously put her bag on his shoulder.
"Goodbye, Senior Wu."
"goodbye."
After the two of them walked away, Wu Zhifan raised his head from the book and looked at the small figure with a hint of greed in his eyes.
“Who do you want to write about?”
While eating, Fang Zhao asked An Huainan while biting a piece of beef.
An Huainan picked up the vegetables from his bowl and gave them to Fang Zhao. This kid has never liked eating vegetables since he was a child, so how could he eat only meat?
Sure enough, Fang Zhao frowned when he looked at the vegetables in the bowl, but still ate them reluctantly.
"I haven't thought about it yet. Let's talk about it this afternoon."
Shanhe University was not his target school. Since Li Yihong wanted to be in the limelight so much, he would just give it to her. He didn't care much about it.
"What were you two talking about just now?"
"Senior Wu helped me find some relevant books so that I could study and improve my daily scores."
After Fang Zhao finished speaking, he looked up at An Huainan and suddenly realized, "Are you jealous?"
An Huainan was stunned for a moment and nodded.
Fang Zhao originally thought that he would refute it, but he didn't expect him to admit it directly.
"Keep your distance from him."
"Yes, sir."
Fang Zhao made a playful face, and An Huainan was almost unable to contain himself because of her. "Hurry up and eat."
Fang Zhao took advantage of his good mood and secretly put the vegetables he had put into her bowl back in. However, An Huainan caught her in the act and put more vegetables into her bowl and forced her to eat them.
Fang Zhao slumped down in his chair somewhat discouraged, and gave up struggling completely.
"Come, Honghong."
After the class, Li Yihong left the others and went to Teacher An’s dormitory alone.
"The An Huainan you mentioned is a pretty good guy, but I don't know what his family background is like."
Although Teacher An is over 40 years old, he has never married and still has deep obsession and fantasies about love.
"My family isn't very good." Li Yihong didn't expect her godmother to be so direct, and she answered with a red face.
"Then you'd better think about it. After all, Phoenix men are not reliable these days. But if he has good character, it's not impossible to consider him. Later, when you two get married, with your family conditions, you can promote him more. You can also be the head of the family and surpass him. How great is that."
Li Yihong nodded. Although she was still thinking about getting married, what her godmother said seemed to make sense.
"How about Wu Zhifan, the guy who picked you up at the station? He's sunny and handsome, a quick learner, and has already applied to be a teaching assistant during his graduate studies. He's likely to stay on campus as a teacher in the future. He also comes from a well-off family; his father works in the provincial government, and his mother is a dentist. Would you consider it?"
"Oh, godmother."
Li Yihong's face flushed completely. "You really want to marry me off? I haven't even graduated from high school yet."
"It won't delay me. Studying and life are two separate things, and I need to balance both. Are you going to abandon your life just for studying?"
Teacher An acted like a "veteran" and completely forgot that he had only been in love a few times.
"Oh, by the way, this is an article Professor Wen published in a journal before. Take it back and read it to get a feel for Professor Wen's preferences. When you finish writing the paper this afternoon, send it to my email and I'll revise it for you."
"Okay, godmother."
"Be good. This is the laptop I used before. You can use it first. When you go to college, your godmother will give you a new one."
"Wow, thanks, godmother."
Teacher An had a high salary and treated her very well. Even though her computer was old, it felt like a high-end product. She didn't have any children of her own, so she doted on Li Yihong. She was the one who loved her own children.
After leaving Teacher An's dormitory, Li Yihong took her laptop and went to the library. This time, she was determined to be the center of attention. She wanted An Huainan to see that she was superior to Fang Zhao and that only someone as outstanding as her was qualified to stand beside him.
