Chapter 22 Little friend, you've arrived!

Chapter 22 Little friend, you've arrived!

Yao Xin skipped back to the classroom, and as soon as she sat down, she said to Gu Zhaodi, "Zhaozhao, your method really works! Old Lin agreed."

The girl smiled shyly and said softly, "It's good that the method works."

Deng Xixue came over to Yao Xin to discuss switching groups, but Yao Xin immediately refused. Going to Lao Lin is like going to one's own father.

If things don't go as planned, your own father might beat you half to death and call you a troublemaker.

Gu Zhaodi overheard this and came up with an idea: when Yao Xin had no other choice, he should mention Dan Si's glorious deeds.

Sure enough, this method was quite effective. The reputation of the school bully was not for nothing; there was always a story of someone who became famous overnight.

"What method works?" Dan Si straightened up from the table, rubbed his sleepy eyes, and looked puzzled.

The girl and boy exchanged a glance, then tacitly chose to keep quiet and cautiously opened their books to ask questions.

"How do you do this problem, Team Leader Gu?"

"Hmm... please substitute this value into the input first..."

"What are you pretending to be, being a good student?" Dan Si glanced at Yao Xin with suspicion for a couple of seconds, then decided to go back to sleep.

Last night, my uncle caught me playing games in my room instead of sleeping, and as a result, I was punished by having to do push-ups at 1 a.m. I still haven't recovered.

It was time for Gu Zhaodi to go to her part-time job again. The study group would officially start next Friday afternoon, so she would still be at the store to work on time this week.

As for the learning mode, they plan to adopt offline learning, which makes it less likely for students to get distracted and makes it more convenient and quick to discuss issues. The location is tentatively set at Dan Si's house.

Thinking of Dan Si inevitably brings to mind Dan Anwen, a handsome and refined man, like a banished immortal.

"Zhao Zhao? Zhao Zhao..." Su Wenjing waved her hand, interrupting the girl's thoughts.

The girl, who had just come to her senses, paused for a moment before asking what was wrong.

Su Wenjing looked at the girl strangely. What was wrong? Her face was so red, the blush even reaching behind her ears.

"Someone at One Central Building ordered two strawberry tiramisu. Could you please deliver them to them?"

"Why isn't there a specific address?" Gu Zhaodi looked at the order and saw that it only contained a phone number and a building address.

Su Wenjing also found it strange. She even called to ask, and the reply was to call back when it was delivered to the front desk, where they would give her the specific location.

If it weren't for the fact that the building was full of elite people, she would have thought there was something wrong with the order, and ultimately attributed it to the fact that wealthy people value their privacy and are unwilling to reveal too much of their personal information.

"The customer told me to call when I get to the front desk, and he will let me know."

The girl nodded, quickly packed up the two desserts, and left with her phone.

The Buddhist-style dessert shop does not offer delivery service. If someone in one of the surrounding buildings orders desserts, they will deliver them to their door. Usually, Su Wenjing is the one who delivers them, but she sprained her ankle a few days ago, so she asked Gu Zhaodi to deliver them instead.

Fortunately, she had become much more familiar with the surroundings during this time, and she easily found Building One, the tallest building in front of the dessert shop.

The first thing that caught her eye was the simple yet luxurious sign at the entrance of the building, with the words "Dan Group" prominently displayed. It was then that Gu Zhaodi realized that the Dan Group was located here, but the dessert shop was at its back entrance, which was why she hadn't noticed it before.

She knew that Uncle Dan's company was in this business district, but she didn't know its exact location. Now it had suddenly appeared in front of her.

Will I run into Uncle Dan?

The thought flashed through her mind so quickly that it was almost impossible to catch; the girl herself didn't even realize it.

I slowly entered the company gate and only called the front desk to ask for the customer's exact location.

The call was answered quickly, and the person on the other end asked her to deliver the dessert to the top floor, where he would wait for her at the elevator.

Gu Zhaodi felt the voice on the phone was familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before, but the person on the other end asked her to give the phone to the front desk.

When she handed her phone to the receptionist, she didn't know what the receptionist said, but the receptionist quickly pressed the elevator button.

She then realized that the elevator required fingerprint verification, which explained why she had to press the button at the front desk; otherwise, she probably wouldn't have been able to get on.

As she boarded the elevator and the doors were about to close, she didn't miss the surprised look in the receptionist's eyes.

Gu Zhaodi, who was in the elevator, found it strange, and Liu Lei, who was waiting for someone at the elevator entrance on the top floor, also found it inexplicable.

Why would the CEO order dessert delivery? Does he actually like those overly sweet things?

The strangest thing is that they require the person delivering the dessert to bring it up personally.

Just then, an elegant and intellectual female secretary walked by, saw Liu Lei standing at the door, and asked, "Assistant Liu, what are you doing standing here?"

Standing at the elevator entrance, not pressing the button or doing anything else, just quietly staring at the changing numbers, he looked exactly like a waiting-for-husband stone.

Hearing the question, Liu Lei turned around, a forced smile on his face, and said, "I'm completing the task assigned by the president."

The female secretary gave him a strange look. Had the CEO driven her crazy?

He shook his head and entered the elevator next to him.

As soon as the elevator doors closed, the elevator door for Gu Zhaodi opened.

When their eyes met, Liu Lei finally understood why the president's behavior had been so strange today.

It turned out to be on the person who delivered the dessert!

Liu Lei quickly concealed his surprise and stepped forward with a smile, "Miss Gu, it's you."

Gu Zhaodi looked at him with some surprise. How come he was Uncle Dan's assistant?

So Uncle Dan is here too?

Before the girl could think further, Liu Lei had already led her to the door of the president's office.

After exiting the elevator and turning a corner, you'll find the door to the CEO's office. Liu Lei knocked on the heavy gray door, and after hearing a deep "Come in" from inside, he pushed the door open.

"Miss Gu, please come in." Liu Lei smiled and gestured for the girl to enter.

The girl stood frozen in place, as if her steps had been frozen.

He frantically gestured to Liu Lei with his eyes: I'm just here to deliver takeout, isn't it enough to just hand it over to you? Why do I have to go inside?

As a result, the assistant, who was adept at reading people's expressions, seemed not to notice and continued to let her into the office.

How could Liu Lei not see the girl's unease and confusion? But this was a special instruction from his boss, Mr. Dan, so how could he dare not do as he was told?

The girl took a deep breath, carried the dessert box, and slowly walked in. As soon as she entered, the office door was closed.

When the girl turned around, she saw a man writing at a desk not far away.

The man was focused and writing something on a document. The pen moved slightly with his fingertips, and the scratching sound of the pen on the paper was particularly clear in the quiet and empty room.

He wore gold-rimmed glasses on his straight nose, his eyebrows and eyes were slightly lowered, and his expression and posture were focused yet elegant. The sleeves of his white shirt were casually rolled up to his elbows.

Hearing a slight noise in the office, the man casually looked up and his gaze fell on the girl not far away.

To be honest, the way the man was so focused was different from his usual upright and dignified demeanor. He seemed to have a more decisive and sharp edge when he was working.

However, upon seeing the girl, the man's aura softened slightly, and a gentle smile appeared on his face.

"Little friend, you've come."

The man's deep, magnetic voice brought the girl back to her senses, reminding her of what she had come there for.

Gu Zhaodi stepped forward, placed the two exquisite dessert boxes on the table beside her, and said to the man in a low voice, "Hello Uncle Dan, I have delivered your desserts, so I'll be going now."

Now she just wants to leave this place as soon as possible. She feels that today's events are too strange, and she has already taken up quite a bit of time. Sister Jing must be getting anxious soon.

She had a premonition that if she didn't leave soon, something uncontrollable would happen next.
