Chapter 27 Red Racing Car

Chapter 27 Red Racing Car

"Xiangxiang, what are you looking at? You've been looking at it all morning." Gu Zhaodi asked, looking at Guan Xiang's untouched homework.

Guan Xiang slammed her phone on the table with a "thud" and said in distress, "Zhao Zhao, why is it so hard to give gifts?"

"Who are you going to give the gift to?" Gu Zhaodi pursed her lips.

"This is for Dan Si; his birthday is coming up."

"When is Dan Si's birthday?" The girl felt that she should send him a gift, both out of courtesy and courtesy.

Guan Xiang then realized that she had been so focused on picking out a gift for Dan Si that she had forgotten to tell Zhao Zhao about Dan Si's birthday.

"This Saturday," Guan Xiang said, her eyes shining as she grasped Gu Zhaodi's hand. "What gift do you want to give Zhaozhao?"

She decided to take a look at Zhao Zhao's gift ideas. To be honest, choosing a gift is really difficult, even more painful than doing homework.

"Gift......"

Gu Zhaodi really had a hard time choosing what gift to give, as she had never given a male classmate a birthday present before.

"How about we go out for a walk on Friday night?" the girl suggested, offering a more plausible idea.

"Okay." Guan Xiang saw that the girl was not in a hurry, and her anxious heart gradually calmed down.

Seeing that Guan Xiang had calmed down, the girl let her start doing her homework.

In the afternoon, Dan Si sent a message in the barbecue group, inviting everyone to go to the KTV downstairs at Yeshe Building on Saturday night, where he had booked a private room.

Time flew by. On Friday afternoon, the two of them studied at Dan Si's house but did not stay for lunch. Instead, they headed to the mall.

In the shopping mall

"Zhao Zhao, what do you think about me giving Dan Si clothes?" Guan Xiang looked at the name of the men's clothing store and fell into deep thought.

The girl looked up at the clothes in the store; most of them were new menswear for the season. He had a well-proportioned and handsome figure, a perfect clothes hanger. Giving him clothes as a gift wouldn't be a bad idea.

Before the girl could speak, Guan Xiang rejected her suggestion, "I seem to remember giving this gift a few years ago. It wouldn't be good to give the same gift twice."

Seeing that Guan Xiang was really worried, Gu Zhaodi pursed her lips and said, "Let's take a look around first, maybe we'll find something suitable."

"Alright."

After browsing several floors, the two still couldn't find a suitable gift. Some of them Guan Xiang had already given as gifts, while others they knew Dan Si would definitely not like.

Guan Xiang couldn't find a satisfactory gift, so she turned to ask Gu Zhaodi if there was anything she wanted to buy.

The girl shook her head sincerely, "I don't know, the gifts here are beyond my financial means."

She had originally planned to wait until Guan Xiang had picked out a gift before going to find a place to choose one herself, but after most of the day had passed, Guan Xiang still hadn't decided what to give her.

Hearing what Zhao Zhao said, Guan Xiang realized the girl's financial situation and blamed herself for being negligent, only thinking about what to give Dan Si.

"Since we can't find a suitable gift here, why don't we go somewhere else?" Guan Xiang pulled the girl towards the elevator.

Where to?

You'll find out in a little while.

Gu Zhaodi followed Guan Xiang to a place, shrouded in cryptic language.

The warmth and vibrancy of everyday life is always the most heartwarming aspect of a city. Even amidst towering skyscrapers, there is always a hidden warmth and vibrancy within the city.

The low-rise bungalows are hidden among the brightly lit high-rise buildings, silently guarding a corner of the city. They are truly hidden in plain sight, and the bustling snack streets and small shops are full of life.

"There are places like this in Nan'an City!" Gu Zhaodi exclaimed, looking at the crowd of people coming and going.

During her months in Nan'an City, all she saw were tall buildings and wide, bustling avenues, which made her think that the entire city of Nan'an was like that.

Guan Xiang was very familiar with this place, which was not at all like a rich girl who would know about it. "I only found out about this place when I was in junior high school. Dan Shu took me here to play."

"Don't be fooled by the fact that the things here aren't as nice as those in high-end shopping malls; they're full of warmth."

Gu Zhaodi agreed with this view. When she was in Lin'an City, she had also visited the narrow but warm snack street. Even though she didn't buy anything, the emotional feeling didn't lie.

Guan Xiang rubbed her slightly hungry stomach and said to the girl in a coquettish tone, "Zhao Zhao, let's go eat, I'm hungry."

"Okay, what do you want to eat?" The girl wasn't picky.

"I saw a mala tang (spicy hot pot) shop when I came here, and it looked delicious." After saying that, Guan Xiang seemed to savor the taste of the mala tang, licking her bright red lips as she spoke.

"Let's go eat then."

The two walked hand in hand in the direction they had come from, and soon arrived at the mala tang restaurant that Guan Xiang had mentioned.

The restaurant is doing very well; there are no seats available for dine-in, and many people are standing in line at the door to wait for their turn to dine in.

Two girls excitedly joined the line, looking up at the menu on the wall, debating which flavor to choose.

The hot pot was served quickly, and it wasn't long before it was the two girls' turn.

Both of them ordered medium spicy, and after saying that, they smiled at each other.

After sitting and waiting for a while, the two of us were served our spicy hot pot. The bowls were covered with red oil, making them look incredibly appetizing.

Whether the two girls were extremely hungry or simply attracted by the delicious taste of the mala tang, there was hardly anything left in their bowls when they finished eating.

"Zhaozhao, I'll go pay the bill first."

As Guan Xiang was about to stand up, Gu Zhaodi grabbed her arm.

"Let me do it, Xiangxiang. I still have the money."

When the two of them go out to buy snacks, Guan Xiang always insists on paying the bill, afraid that the girl won't have enough money.

But the girl also wanted to reciprocate by treating Guan Xiang to something expensive, though she couldn't afford the price of a single meal of spicy hot pot.

Guan Xiang hesitated for a moment, then smiled and said, "Thank you for the treat, Boss Zhao Zhao."

The girl smiled serenely, got up to pay the bill, and then the two of them went to see what gift they wanted to buy.

As she walked along the road, Gu Zhaodi noticed that a stranger walking towards her was holding a ceramic piece. Unlike the exquisitely crafted items sold in boutiques, it looked like something she had made herself.

"Xiangxiang, I think I know what to give you." The girl stopped and her eyes sparkled.

"What should we give?" Guan Xiang's tightly furrowed brows relaxed a little.

The girl pointed to a pottery shop in the distance, "We can make pottery for Dan Si."

Guan Xiang slapped her forehead. "That's right, how come I didn't think of that?"

The two quickened their pace and entered the pottery shop. After asking the staff, they learned that the finished pottery would take several days to arrive, which would not be in time for Dan Si's birthday.

"What should we do, Zhao Zhao?" The two men stood dejectedly at the shop entrance.

"What does Dan Si like?" After thinking for a moment, it seemed that the only way to find out was by looking at the things Dan Si liked.

When this is mentioned, Guan Xiang actually knows a little about it: "He likes cars."

“We can’t afford a car, but we can buy models.” The girl thought of the entire wall of figurines in Dan Si’s study.

Guan Xiang thought for a moment, and realized that she had never given Dan Si car models as gifts.

The two used their phones to find a place nearby that actually sells car models, just a few minutes' walk away.

Upon arriving at the store, I found that the entire store sold model cars, each one handmade by the owner and unique.

"That's great, we won't get the same gift as everyone else." Guan Xiang smiled happily. Each car was different, reflecting the boss's own thoughts and emotions.

Finally, after spending more than ten minutes in the store, the two decided on a red racing car and a silver motorcycle.

"Xiangxiang, do you think Dan Si would like red?" The girl expressed doubt, as she had never seen red around Dan Si before.

Guan Xiang chuckled slyly, sending chills down one's spine. "He'll definitely like it. He looked so cute in his little red dress when he was little."

The girl always felt that Guan Xiang was making fun of Dan Si.

After picking out gifts, it was getting late, so Guan Xiang didn't shop around any longer and took Gu Zhaodi back to school.
