Chapter 62 Guoguo's "Prison Break"

Chapter 62 Guoguo's "Prison Break"

Since the last pet gathering, Gu Zhaodi has not seen Su Ling again. Her intentional avoidance did not attract much attention from the girl. However, Guoguo had not seen Meimei for several days and was somewhat anxious.

"Awoo, awoo."

Guoguo peeked through the crack in the villa's front door. The girl had gone to school, the man had gone to work, and Aunt Zhang had also taken the day off to go home. The house was quiet and empty, making it the perfect opportunity to commit a crime.

Perhaps the door wasn't properly locked when they left, because Guoguo's big paws managed to open it. Seeing the vast world outside, the German Shepherd didn't hesitate for a second, and disappeared in a flash through the iron gate in the yard.

When Gu Zhaodi returned home from school in the afternoon, she was greeted only by the open gate of the villa.

Seeing the heavy door wide open on all sides and the quiet surroundings, the girl's heart tightened, thinking that a thief had sneaked in.

The girl grabbed a stick from the corner of the wall and tiptoed into the house. As soon as she entered, she noticed something was amiss.

The floor was covered in paw marks, and even the back of the door was covered in claw marks, all signs of Guoguo's antics.

The girl frowned as she looked at the "crime scene," when a sudden thought struck her. She seemed to know what had happened there before. If Guoguo were home, it would rush out to greet her as soon as she opened the door.

After all, this wasn't Guoguo's first "escape." The previous times, Aunt Zhang or the girl had discovered and stopped her in time. I didn't expect her to succeed today.

Gu Zhaodi hurriedly took out her phone and called Dan Anwen.

Inside the conference room of the Dan Group, a cell phone ring interrupted the manager who was giving a report. Everyone in the conference room looked at each other, wondering which reckless person dared not silence their phone in front of the president.

Dan Anwen, who was sitting at the head of the table, frowned slightly. Liu Lei took out his phone, glanced at the contact name, and then respectfully handed it to Dan Anwen.

Dan Anwen glanced at it casually, swiped to answer the call, and held the phone to his ear.

Liu Lei stood there stunned for several seconds. If he hadn't seen the words "little kid," he would have almost hung up the phone. Luckily, he had heard the president call her Miss Gu.

The employees below were startled by the president's gentle voice. Who was this little kid? Was the president married? How come they didn't know?

"What's wrong, little one?" As he said this, Dan Anwen's lips curled into a faint smile, almost imperceptible. If Liu Lei hadn't followed him for so many years, he would hardly have noticed.

The girl looked around the house for Guoguo and said anxiously, "Uncle Dan, Guoguo is missing."

The man frowned slightly, but his tone was calm, which inexplicably calmed people down. "Don't worry, the collar around its neck has a GPS tracking function. I'll send you the location."

"Okay." The girl took off her backpack and walked out of the villa without stopping.

"Take your time looking, I'm going home now." The man thought about it and was still worried about the girl going to look for the dog alone.

The girl's breathing was slightly unsteady, and her panting sounds were scattered in the air by the wind. "I understand, Uncle Dan."

After hanging up the phone, the man picked up his suit jacket from the chair and hurriedly walked out of the meeting room.

Liu Lei, standing behind him, maintained a smile and dealt with the management personnel present.

"Assistant Liu, what's going on with the president?" The supervisor who was reporting looked at the figure that had already disappeared and didn't know what to do for a moment.

Liu Lei shifted his position slightly and said with a smile, "The president has some business to attend to right now. Everyone, please go back first. We will notify you of the time for the next meeting later."

"But......"

The supervisor who was reporting was a little anxious. This cooperation was very important and needed to be finalized today. Now that the person had left, did that mean they would just give up on this multi-billion dollar contract?

Liu Lei, of course, knew the importance of this contract. "Don't worry, I'll talk to the president about the contract today. Everyone, you can go home now."

Dan Anwen has disappeared, so that's all that can be done. When everyone went out, they were all discussing which little devil could make the president so gentle and abandon this multi-billion dollar contract to disappear.

Here, the girl followed the red dot on her phone and arrived at the garden where she usually walked her dog, but the garden was extremely large, making it very difficult to find a German Shepherd.

"Guoguo, Guoguo." The girl searched almost all the places where the dog usually played, but couldn't find it.

Sweat-drenched cheeks flushed red in the sweltering evening, and sweat trickled down her temples and forehead, dripping onto the ground from her small face.

"Little girl," Dan Anwen patted the girl's shoulder.

When Gu Zhaodi saw Dan Anwen arrive, her previously agitated heart calmed down. "Uncle Dan, I've been looking for Guoguo for a long time, it's like she's just disappeared."

The girl looked at the motionless red dot and felt that something had happened to it.

"Don't worry, I'll help you find it."

Dan Anwen led the girl to expand the search area. Just as the man was about to call for more people, he saw a dark brown dog licking its paws in the bushes.

"Guoguo." Seeing Guoguo sitting there unharmed, the girl was slightly angry.

My worry vanished instantly, leaving only the urge to hit Guoguo.

Seeing its owner walking towards it, Guoguo was very excited and immediately rushed over to cling to the girl with its front paws, showing no remorse whatsoever for doing wrong.

"Get down," the girl said angrily, and directly shoved Guoguo's big paws off.

But Guoguo didn't give up. She put her paw on it again and repeated this several times. Then, the girl looked at the man with tears in her eyes.

"Uncle Dan".

Seeing the girl's helpless and anxious appearance, Dan Anwen slightly released his oppressive aura and said in a stern tone, "Guoguo, come down."

Hearing the man's commanding tone, Guoguo acted like a wronged little wife, instantly slamming her big, fleshy paws to the ground without the slightest hesitation.

The girl was both angry and amused by this scene. She thought it was because she was too gentle that Guoguo didn't listen to her.

"Sit down." The man then gave the order without hesitation for a second. Guoguo followed the instruction and sat down, looking at the man expectantly, as if to say that she had obediently sat down.

"Guoguo, do you know how worried we are when you run around like that?" The girl squatted down angrily and started scolding Guoguo on the spot.

"Waaah." Guoguo tried to act soft to gain the girl's sympathy and stop scolding it.

Seeing its appearance, the girl did not let it off easily as before. She poked Guoguo's flat head with her slender fingers and muttered something about it.

Dan Anwen stood quietly to the side and watched. Whenever Guoguo showed any impatience or displeasure, he would give her a cold look. Guoguo, who valued her dog's life, would immediately deflate and obediently sit in place listening to the girl's scolding.

Half an hour later, seeing Guoguo's head drooping lower and lower until her face was almost touching the ground, the girl finally stopped talking.

Dan Anwen took out a bottle of mineral water from somewhere and handed it to the girl, saying, "Have some water first. Your mouth must be dry from talking so much."

The man smiled; it was the first time he'd ever seen a girl talk so much at once, enough to make even a dog feel frustrated.

The girl was clearly aware of her actions over the past half hour; her cheeks flushed slightly and turned a rosy red in the light.

As the sun set, the girl and the man walked side by side, followed by a large dog with its tail drooping to the ground, looking utterly dejected as it followed the girl home, a far cry from the spirited demeanor it had displayed when it first left.

"Uncle Dan, why does Guoguo always want to run away lately?" Gu Zhaodi secretly glanced at Guoguo behind her.

Dan Anwen lowered his eyes slightly and said in a light tone, "Maybe he misses the little female dog."

The girl slapped her forehead, "How could I forget about this? We should take Guoguo to get her sterilized."

"Well, I'll take it to have it operated on after its heat cycle ends." The man curled his lips into a smug smile.

Unaware of what was going on, Guoguo sensed that the atmosphere between its two owners had become much more pleasant, and its heart, which had been filled with remorse for doing something wrong, relaxed slightly. Little did it know what it was about to lose.

After returning home, they spent the evening fussing and neither of them wanted to move much, so they ordered takeout from a private kitchen. After eating, the girl went upstairs to do her homework.

Dan Anwen looked at Guoguo calling out in front of him, his eyes narrowed without the slightest emotional fluctuation.

Seeing the man's expressionless face, Guoguo wisely stopped barking. However, looking at the empty dog bowl, it still mustered up its courage and stared longingly at the man.

The man's voice was calm but firm: "I made a mistake today and upset the child, so dinner is canceled."

After saying that, he completely ignored the pitiful dog behind him and turned to go upstairs.

Perhaps realizing that its dinner was ruined, it didn't dare follow the man upstairs and could only lie on the ground, hungry and tearful.

The next day, when the girl went to empty the dog food container, Guoguo acted as if she hadn't eaten in ages, stuffing all the chicken she usually disliked into her stomach.

After finishing his meal, he lay on the ground, looking completely satisfied, without moving.
