Chapter 63 Children's Day

Chapter 63 Children's Day

Instead of welcoming the day to take Guoguo to get sterilized, we welcomed Children's Day, which belongs to girls.

Gu Zhaodi, a high school student, never imagined that she would be able to celebrate her first Children's Day at the age of sixteen.

"Uncle Dan, where are you taking me?" During her lunch break, the man called and asked the girl to take the afternoon off, but he didn't tell her why.

Dan Anwen casually rested her slender fingers on the steering wheel, recalling Liu Lei's words from that morning.

"President, I'd like to request the afternoon off today," Liu Lei said, handing the documents to the man.

Without even looking up, Dan An asked, "What happened?"

It's no wonder Dan Anwen asked, as this was the first time Liu Lei had taken leave so hastily since becoming his assistant.

Liu Lei seemed less shrewd than usual, and more naive. "Today is Children's Day, and my daughter's kindergarten has a parent-child activity. As a father, I don't want to miss this moment in my child's growth."

"Children's Day?" Dan Anwen looked up, frowning as he thought about his past Children's Days.

It seems that his mother celebrated Children's Day with him when he was little, but he didn't seem very interested and preferred to stay in his room reading.

"Does it really have to pass?" Dan Anwen blurted out.

Liu Lei thought the president didn't want to grant him leave, since the company had been busy with that land deal and didn't have much free time; even the president himself was working overtime.

"It's okay, if you're busy, you don't have to go." With that, Liu Lei tried to leave.

Dan Anwen said calmly, "Wait, I'm asking you, is Children's Day important to children?"

"Huh?" Liu Lei was stunned for a moment. What kind of question was this?

However, adhering to the principle of being a responsible assistant, he still answered seriously: "For children, Children's Day is one of the few holidays that belong to them throughout the year, so it is of course very important."

The man lowered his eyes slightly and nodded thoughtfully. "So where will you take your child to celebrate Children's Day?"

If Liu Lei still doesn't realize this now, then he must be out of his mind. Isn't it obvious that he wants to take Miss Gu out for fun?

"If the president wants to take Miss Gu out for fun, he can go to places like Disneyland. Little girls usually like to spend holidays there."

Liu Lei secretly gave himself a thumbs up; he was simply the best assistant in China.

"Okay, you can go spend the afternoon with your daughter." Dan Anwen didn't refute Liu Lei's words, but readily granted him leave.

After leaving the house, Liu Lei felt that he should pay close attention to anything related to Miss Gu from now on, and that a promotion and raise would be just around the corner.

"Uncle Dan?" The girl waved her fair hand in front of the man's eyes.

"Hmm?" Dan Anwen came back to her senses and smiled. "I'll take you to celebrate Children's Day."

With that, the man started the car.

This time it was the girl's turn to be stunned. Had she misheard? Was it Children's Day?

"Uncle Dan, I'm really not a child anymore." The girl had to emphasize this fact to the man again.

Where have you ever seen a 16-year-old celebrate Children's Day?

"I know you're not a child anymore, but in my heart you're still a child who needs to be loved." The man's tone was indifferent, but the girl sensed the deeper meaning behind his words.

"Thank you, Uncle Dan." The girl's eyes were a little wet, and a feeling of bitterness welled up in her heart that she couldn't suppress.

Dan Anwen pulled out a tissue and placed it in the girl's palm. His deep voice swept over the girl's ears, "Little girl, don't cry. You should be happy during the holiday."

"Yes, I know." The girl suppressed the urge to cry.

Before even reaching Disneyland, the man drove his car into the underground parking garage of a shopping mall.

"Uncle Dan, what are we doing here?" Gu Zhaodi asked, looking bewildered as she got out of the car with the man.

"I'll take you shopping for clothes." Dan Anwen gently touched the girl's soft hair.

The girl was confused, and all her expressions remained on her face.

"Of course, you should dress up beautifully and be the most beautiful little princess when you go to Disneyland." The man recalled what Liu Lei had said when he returned that morning.

"Of course, girls want to look beautiful during holidays." This is a truth that Liu Lei learned from his wife.

The man quickly led her into a women's clothing store and asked the sales clerk to help the girl choose clothes.

The curtain in the fitting room was pulled open, and a look of amazement flashed in the eyes of the man sitting on the sofa with his legs crossed. He never expected the little girl to look so beautiful in a dress!

The light pink knee-length skirt accentuated the girl's graceful figure, and her fair and slender feet were adorned with a pair of pearl-white sneakers, making her look both adorable and youthful.

The girl's hair, past her shoulders, fell slightly to her chest. She wore a shy and bashful expression, and her slender, pale fingers gently gripped the edge of her skirt.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Gu Zhaodi could hardly believe that this was how she looked in a dress; it was as if she were a completely different person.

"Uncle Dan." The girl walked up to the man somewhat awkwardly and called out to him in a hesitant tone.

“Little girl, the dress suits you very well.” Dan Anwen stood up, his deep eyes giving the girl a slight look.

"But I'm not used to it; this is the first time I've worn a skirt." The girl's posture was a little awkward.

Dan Anwen's eyes curved upwards, and she said as if coaxing a child, "It really suits you. Today you will be the most beautiful little princess."

The saleswoman next to her said, "This dress really suits you, Miss. Your fair skin is perfect for the light pink color."

Girls all love beauty and being pretty, and when someone says she's beautiful, she feels extremely happy and pleased.

Dan Anwen said directly to the sales clerk, "Wrap up the sets you just tried on as well."

Before the girl could react, the man had already swiped his card to pay the bill, and then took several paper bags and led the girl back to his car.

It took them almost an hour to drive to reach Disneyland.

Seeing the long line of people waiting to enter the park, the girl couldn't help but swallow hard. "Uncle Dan, we're going in. It'll probably be closing time soon, right?"

Dan Anwen smiled slightly, a hint of amusement in her eyes, "There's a fast track that will allow us to enter the park faster."

The girl said she didn't understand the world of the rich.

Once inside Disneyland, the girl realized what it meant to be a nobody compared to a giant.

The scene of people queuing to enter the park at the entrance was already impressive enough, but inside it was so crowded that it was practically shoulder to shoulder. Especially on Children's Day, it was mostly adults bringing their children to celebrate.

"Little princess, what would you like to do first?" The man handed the girl a Disneyland guidebook. After entering Disneyland, the man addressed the girl differently.

Gu Zhaodi felt dizzy looking at the various items on the screen.

"Uncle Dan, let's go ride the steam sightseeing train." The girl was wondering what to do first, so she decided to take a look.

"good."

On the sightseeing bus, the girl saw almost the entire Disneyland, where modern and exciting rides blended seamlessly with a fairytale world, leaving her dazzled.

After experiencing the little train, the first stop for the two of them was Dream World, a paradise in the fairy tale world for little girls.

The small blue and purple sign at the entrance to Alice in Wonderland's labyrinth holds the dream world of a little girl's childhood.

Along the winding paths, you'll occasionally find book-shaped information panels that guide you step by step through the Red Queen's back garden.

Further in, you'll find its true entrance. Stone-paved paths, green vegetation, and golden and silver streetlights add a dreamlike quality to this place.

"Does the little princess want to have her picture taken?" The man had done his research and brought a camera when he went out this morning.

"Yes." Ever since the girl entered, her eyes have been constantly looking around, never stopping.

The girl, wearing a dress with an outer layer of mesh material, stands next to the Red Queen. The girl's sweet smile and the striking contrast of the Red Queen looking down at her add depth to the photo.

After the two of them came out, Dan Anwen took the girl to buy a cup of milk tea.

They strolled around while drinking milk tea.

I happened to arrive during the 3 p.m. parade, and the floats carrying characters like Lina Belle and Mickey Mouse appeared right in front of me.

"Uncle Dan, it's Winnie the Pooh!" Unlike the attention of those around her, the girl stared intently at Winnie the Pooh who was greeting her, almost screaming with excitement.

"Little princess, you like Winnie the Pooh?" Dan Anwen looked at the yellow-skinned, red-clothed bear in front of her and couldn't understand how a child could like such a silly and cute thing.

He thought children would like pink and cute dolls like Lina Belle.

"Pupu is so cute."

The girl likes Winnie the Pooh because it was her first toy. Although it was a toy that the neighbor's little girl didn't want when she was a child, it was the only toy she ever had.

"Puff puff, puff puff." The girl waved her hands without regard for her image, trying to get Winnie the Pooh, who was on a parade, to look at her.

Winnie the Pooh, who was politely greeting the people around him, clearly saw the brightly dressed girl on the roadside and waved his yellow hand vigorously at her.

"It greeted me." The girl looked up, her eyes sparkling, her face beaming with a youthful smile.

"I saw it," Dan Anwen replied softly, his doting gaze falling on the girl.
