Chapter 15, Chapter 15: The Cow Sisters
Hua Cheng picked up the small box and shook it to confirm that the contents were indeed gone.
He immediately ran into the bathroom and, through the thick fog on the glass, said to Yun Jin, who was taking a shower, "Wife, where's your diamond?"
The sound of rushing water made Yun Jin's voice muffled: "Take it and sell it."
"Why are you selling it?" Hua Cheng asked.
Yun Jin: "Because we're short of money."
My wife seems to be getting more and more humorous.
Hua Cheng smiled and suddenly noticed the black wristwatch on the sink.
Yun Jin really loves this watch; she never takes it off even when she sleeps, only taking it off for a short while when she takes a shower.
Hua Cheng picked up the watch, but couldn't see anything to like about it. Just as he was about to adjust the hands, the glass door to the shower room suddenly opened.
Their eyes met, and Yun Jin immediately snatched the watch and put it on.
"Is it really necessary..."
Hua Cheng muttered something, and the next second, seeing her wet appearance, he reached out and pulled her into his arms.
Yun Jin had just finished showering and hadn't dried herself off yet. His hug immediately trapped all the moisture in her clothes, and her dark trousers were quickly soaked with water stains.
“…You can’t keep your clothes.” Yun Jin was held tightly by him, her body curves pressed against the buttons on his shirt.
It's a bit uncomfortable.
Hua Cheng ignored the clothes and looked intently into her eyes: "Kiss."
Yun Jin stared at him for a few seconds, then stepped barefoot onto his leather shoes and kissed his Adam's apple.
The spot where he was kissed suddenly tightened. Hua Cheng wasn't quite satisfied with this fleeting kiss and was just about to go deeper when the alarm clock rang, shattering the ambiguous atmosphere.
Since stepping down from his substantive position, he has become nothing more than a mascot for the company as chairman of the board.
Yun Zong is different. As the CEO of Yuncheng Technology, he has a lot of work to do every day, so when the alarm rings, you have to get ready and go to work quickly, and you can't continue to fool around with him.
Hua Cheng reluctantly pulled a bath towel from the shelf next to him, wrapped it around his wife, and wiped her haphazardly: "I put your clothes on the sink."
Yun Jin tilted her head slightly, glancing over his shoulder at the neatly folded clothes.
Hua Cheng patted her head and turned to go to the dressing room.
Yun Jin dressed alone in the bathroom. As she threw the used bath towel into the laundry basket, she saw the coat that Hua Cheng had worn the night before.
She paused for a moment, reached into her coat pocket and felt around, and sure enough, found a sparkly star hair clip.
I knew he would buy it.
When Hua Cheng returned after changing his clothes, he saw Yun Jin with her head down, staring at the star hair clip in her palm, seemingly lost in thought.
Hua Cheng didn't like the way she looked when she was alone and lost in thought; it gave her a feeling of loneliness and helplessness.
“Ah, we’ve been found out.” He broke the uncomfortable atmosphere.
Yun Jin snapped out of her daze and looked up at him: "Why didn't you give it to me after you bought it?"
"Even that little brat Liu Beibei criticized my taste in choosing hair clips, how could I dare to give them to you?" Hua Cheng helplessly shrugged.
Yun Jin glanced at him sideways: "Your aesthetic sense isn't very good."
"Wife..."
"It's too childish, I can't wear it." Yun Jin frowned, seemingly a little annoyed.
Hua Cheng chuckled: "Then no..."
Before she could finish speaking, Yun Jin had already pinned the star to her suit collar.
She was wearing a gray cotton-linen suit today. The fabric was very soft and the color was understated. A blue hair clip was pinned to it, becoming the only bright spot.
Hair clips that cost just a few dollars have suddenly become real stars.
Hua Cheng gazed at the star for a while before smiling and asking, "What's for breakfast?"
“I’ve already eaten,” Yun Jin said.
Hua Cheng paused for a moment: "You were still asleep when I got back. When did you eat?"
There was a moment of silence.
Yun Jin calmly replied, "Anyway, I've already eaten."
Hua Cheng assumed she was just making excuses because she didn't want to eat, and after much persuasion, he finally managed to get her to eat half a sandwich.
Because of this half sandwich, Yun Jin's stomach was still full even after she entered the office.
"President Yun."
When Xiao Zhou saw her arrive, he immediately came over to confirm today's work schedule. Only after discussing work matters did he mention that Wu En was outside.
"Wu En?" Yun Jin looked up.
Xiao Zhou: "It's Secretary Wu, who works for President Hua. Yesterday, the HR department issued a transfer order to him, asking him to go to the branch office as a director next month. I guess he came here for this reason."
Going from the chairman's secretary to the branch director may seem like a promotion, but in reality, it's a step away from the center of power and a significant demotion.
The transfer order has already been issued, which clearly shows that President Hua has made up his mind. That's why he came to wait for President Yun so early in the morning.
After all, within the entire Yuncheng Technology, the only person who could make President Hua retract his decision was President Yun.
“He didn’t have an appointment. I was going to just send him away, but I thought I should let you know first. If you don’t want to see him, I’ll ask him to leave now,” Xiao Zhou said earnestly.
Yun Jin thought for a moment and said, "Let him in."
"Okay," Xiao Zhou replied and went out.
Three minutes later, Wu En appeared in the office looking haggard.
"President Yun." He greeted him with his head down, completely devoid of his previous smugness.
Yun Jin put down the documents in her hand: "Is there something you need from me?"
"Have you heard that I'm being transferred?" Wu En asked.
Yun Jin looked helpless: "I just found out, but if you came to me about this, I may have to disappoint you. After all, this decision was made by Hua Cheng, and I can't object to it."
"No, no, no, I didn't come here to beg you for mercy," Wu En hurriedly said.
Yun Jin paused: "That was because..."
"I just wanted to apologize to you before I left," Wu En said with a look of shame. "After all, about Feng Wan..."
He couldn't continue.
Yun Jin gently helped him out of the predicament: "It's because Hua Cheng doesn't know his limits that you misunderstood."
"I did misunderstand... but after the misunderstanding, instead of telling you immediately, I thought about covering it up for President Hua..."
Wu En looked bitter: "I was promoted by you. Without your appreciation, I might still be running errands in the sales department. You have been kind to me, but I have repaid kindness with enmity. No wonder Hua Zong transferred me away."
Yun Jin stood up and poured him a glass of warm water.
“Thank you,” Wu En quickly accepted the gift, then awkwardly continued the previous topic, “President Yun, I really know I was wrong. Being transferred to the branch office was what I deserved, but I had my reasons. You know my family isn't well-off, and I really need this job to support my whole family. After misunderstanding the relationship between President Hua and Feng Wan, I really didn't have the courage to offend you to repay your kindness…”
“Although the branch office is not yet fully established, according to the headquarters’ plan, it will receive strong support in the next few years. As long as you focus on your work, you will be just as good as a secretary,” Yun Jin interrupted gently.
"Yes, yes, I know, I will definitely do my best." Wu En nodded repeatedly.
“Also,” Yun Jin sighed softly, “you were transferred not because you didn’t stand on my side, but because you stood on Feng He’s side too early.”
Wu En suddenly looked up and stared at her in astonishment.
"As an employee, helping the boss cover up his extramarital affair and illegitimate child is something you can say you have no choice but to do in the workplace. Even if I am the victim, I have no right to criticize you. But casually leaking the boss's information to others is a very serious dereliction of duty."
"I didn't..."
"Whether you did it or not, Hua Cheng and I both know." Yun Jin looked at him gently.
Wu En's breathing became heavier, and she felt a little dizzy.
He admitted that he hadn't talked to Feng He many times and had only given him some unimportant information, but he didn't expect that even though he had done it so secretly, he was still discovered.
Wu En was horrified and looked at Yun Jin in a panic: "President Yun..."
“Since Huacheng has sent you to the branch office, it means he doesn’t intend to pursue the matter. Do your job well at the branch office, achieve good results, and Yuncheng headquarters will welcome you back anytime,” Yun Jin interrupted with a smile.
Wu En's eyes suddenly reddened.
He knew better than anyone how serious a problem it was for a secretary to leak information, and he, as the secretary, knew better than anyone how intolerant Hua Cheng was of any wrongdoing. Yet this time, Hua Cheng chose not to pursue the matter... It must have been because someone persuaded him.
“President Yun…” Wu En’s voice was as dejected as before, but his expression was different. “I will definitely do my best and never let you down.”
Yun Jin: "?"
"I will definitely work hard, Mr. Yun, you wait for me. I will definitely come back with dignity and become your most useful employee. You wait for me!"
As Wu En spoke, he rushed out.
Two minutes later, Xiao Zhou walked in looking bewildered: "What did you say to him? Why did he suddenly become so passionate?"
"He didn't say anything." Yun Jin chuckled, knowing in her heart that he was probably attributing the credit for her not being held accountable.
This is Hua Cheng's doing again.
After the minor incident, Yun Jin continued working until noon.
Xiao Zhou served a cup of coffee at the opportune moment and casually mentioned the matter of investing in the Hopkins Laboratory.
"As per your request, this investment was made from your personal account and did not go through the company's charity department's review process. The first batch of funds has now been fully received."
Xiao Zhou handed her a folder. Yun Jin quickly flipped through a couple of pages, confirmed that the most important numbers were accurate, and then signed her name on it.
"If there is a need for further investment, follow the same procedure as before," she instructed.
Xiao Zhou agreed, then couldn't help but add, "Actually, the charity department has a very generous annual budget for research. Although the Hopkins lab doesn't have many achievements, it barely meets the funding criteria, so you don't need to pay out of your own pocket."
He had just finished speaking when Yun Jin's phone suddenly lit up, and a remittance message appeared on the screen.
It was a private transfer from Huacheng, amounting to 20 million.
Yun Jin glanced at it and calmly looked at Xiao Zhou: "It's okay, someone will pay the bill."
Xiao Zhou: "..."
Hua Cheng knew Yun Jin wouldn't reply, so after transferring the money, he looked at his administrative secretary.
Administrative Secretary: "It seems that Secretary Wu has already gone to see General Manager Yun."
“Hmm,” Hua Cheng casually brushed it off, “Keep an eye out for recent jewelry auctions. Send me any good quality diamonds. There’s an empty box at home; I need to replace it as soon as possible.”
Yun Jin never said what she wanted the diamonds for, and he didn't ask again. Anyway, he could buy her a lot of these things, and she could throw them in the trash if she wanted to.
The administrative secretary immediately set about checking the auction information.
Hua Cheng was the only one left in the huge office. He sat quietly for a moment and asked Yun Jin if she wanted to have lunch together.
Yun Jin: I'm too busy, no thanks.
The rejection was swift, decisive, and utterly ruthless.
Hua Cheng clicked her tongue and replied: Please be polite to your husband who doesn't have much time left.
Yun Jin didn't reply to him, so she didn't seem to like his joke.
Hua Cheng let out a long sigh of relief. When he felt a faint pain in his head, he immediately swallowed two pills. Only after the pain subsided did he eat something to tide him over. Then he began to think about what to eat with Yun Jin after get off work.
It was already six o'clock in the afternoon.
Yun Jin sent a message right on time: Lan Li broke up with her boyfriend, I'm going to keep her company, I won't be back tonight.
Hua Cheng paused after seeing the message, then replied: "Are you not coming back for dinner or not coming back to sleep?"
Yun Jin: All.
Hua Cheng: "..."
The dinner plan failed.
Hua Cheng remained silent for a moment, pondering how to persuade her to go home, when there was a sudden knock on the office door.
He looked up and saw Liu Zhuang leaning leisurely against the door.
"Let's go eat first, and then you can sleep at my place tonight."
Hua Cheng: "No need, I'm going home."
“Yun Jin asked me to pick you up,” Liu Zhuang ignored his words, “probably because she was worried that if you died alone at home, no one would know.”
Hua Cheng: "..."
She'd even found him a dinner buddy; it seems he really isn't coming home tonight.
Hua Cheng sighed and resignedly followed Liu Zhuang home.
Before taking him back, Liu Zhuang told Chen Yueqin in advance, so Hua Cheng was greeted with a table full of baby food. After eating, Liu Zhuang led him and Liu Beibei for a half-hour walk around the neighborhood.
At 8:30 p.m., Hua Cheng, who was not sleepy at all, was forcibly dragged to bed by Liu Zhuang to rest. Before turning off the lights, he casually opened his WeChat Moments.
Coincidentally, the first one is Lan Li's, and the setting looks like a karaoke bar.
Hua Cheng clicked on it, and Lan Li's heart-wrenching song immediately began to play: "I didn't lie, why would I lie? You know me, I've never pretended for you..."
Hua Cheng immediately shut it down, deciding that from today onwards, Lan Li's singing and Liu Beibei's violin would be considered equally lethal weapons.
That sounds awful, it seems she really broke up with her boyfriend... but I hadn't heard anything about her dating before.
Lan Li, who had just posted on her WeChat Moments while at a karaoke bar, suddenly sneezed.
Friend: "Is the air conditioning too cold? Turn it up?"
Lan Li waved her hand, indicating that they should do as they pleased, and sat cross-legged on the sofa to send a message to Yun Jin: In order to help you put on an act, I specially invited some people out to play.
Yun Jin had obviously seen the post on WeChat Moments, and replied instantly: No need...
She was just afraid of being exposed, so she specifically told Lan Li about it. She didn't expect that the meticulous lawyer Lan would fill in the plot for her.
Yun Jin was speechless when Lan Li's message arrived again.
Lanli: Seriously, why did you lie?
Lanli: Why don't you want to go home?
Lan Li: Did Hua Cheng do something to offend you, so you don't want to see him?
Lan Li: He cheated on me?
Lan Li: Speak up! If he really cheated on me, I'll definitely kill that bastard.
Messages kept coming in, as if they could go on forever.
Yun Jin replied: What if I were the one who cheated?
Lan Li suddenly fell silent. Yun Jin stood in her newly purchased penthouse, threw her phone and jewelry on the bed, and turned her watch counterclockwise.
The space subtly distorted, and just before a new journey was about to begin, the phone on the bed suddenly lit up. Yun Jin glanced at it casually.
Lan Li: The Niu Wa Sisters.

Preparing for a Tortured Romance with the CEO
Jiaojiao transmigrated into the body of the female lead in a tragic romance novel.
At the beginning of the story, she will be tormented by the male lead, a CEO who hasn't yet fallen in love with her, by his wicked childhood sweetheart, and by his playboy friends.
But Jiaojiao isn't really a tragic heroine in a novel.
The male lead, a CEO, humiliated her with money; she accepted the humiliation with tears in her eyes.
Her wicked childhood sweetheart dumped a bunch of secondhand goods on her, which she then put up for sale online.
Her playboy friend offered her 100,000 yuan for a drink, and she drank until he knelt on the ground, crying and begging her to stop.
Jiaojiao made a fortune, but then she saw the CEO's family doctor selling vitamins worth 2.5 yuan to the CEO for 8,000 yuan.
I recognized them by their eyes; they were both transmigrated from a book.
...
Jiaojiao: I haven't read the original novel, have you?
Doctor: I've seen it
Jiaojiao: What will be my ending?
Doctor: After a torturous relationship with the CEO, she took the 300 million yuan he gave her and fled to another country.
Jiaojiao: ...
#I'm sorry, my dear CEO, I was too loud with you before#
#Starting today, I'm going to have a torturous romance with the CEO#
