Chapter 221
Pushing the other person away, Jiang You sat up in bed.
Theodore sat up groggily, his pajamas collar askew, revealing half of his collarbone.
His bright red hair was messy from sleeping, and the corners of his eyes were slightly red, showing a hint of sleepiness; he was clearly still dreaming.
Jiang You went up and shook him awake: "Hurry up."
After the two finished getting ready, the cafeteria served sandwiches and toast for breakfast.
Jiang You sat in the cafeteria eating, watching Theodore add sugar and strawberry jam to his food, and suddenly felt a toothache.
"What kind of look is that?" Theodore slowly took a bite, the sweetness in his mouth making him squint his eyes.
"You should eat less sugar. My neighbor's second aunt's daughter's classmate's brother died of diabetes."
Theodore chuckled expressionlessly: "There was an old man who lived to be ninety-nine. Do you know why?"
Because he didn't want to meddle, Jiang You thought: "..."
I thought she was a busybody! But we're friends, aren't we?
Today's task is still picking fruit, but Theodore notices that Jiang You is acting very strangely today.
He spent the whole morning flirting and whispering with that freckled woman.
After lunch, Jiang You naturally opened Theodore's pocket and looked for his favorite lollipop flavor.
She took out a grape-flavored lollipop and put it in her mouth, then leaned against Theodore, fiddling with the weeds with her hands.
After a morning, Jiang You's hair was somewhat disheveled as he walked, caught on the low-hanging tree branches.
As Gary walked over, he saw a man named Theodore with his eyes lowered, combing Jiang You's hair.
His naturally impatient and arrogant features seemed to have been quietly removed, and a gentle warmth spread between his brows and eyes, making people want to get closer and closer.
Gary approached, and Theodore only turned his head lazily when he heard the noise. The moment his gaze fell on Gary, the corner of his eye twitched slightly upwards, showing no emotion.
There was no scrutiny in his eyes, let alone any concern. It was like casually glancing at a newly blooming flower in the corner of the yard in spring, or a cat darting under the wall. He simply confirmed that "there is such a thing there," and then there was no further meaning.
But Gary was certain that Theodore hated her.
Why? She never spoke a word to him, nor did she speak ill of him behind his back, so why would he dislike her?
It's one thing to be disliked by others, but it's a little bothersome to be disliked by someone as good-looking as you.
Besides, everyone knows that the head butler treats Theodore very well, and everyone thinks the same as Jiang You, they all think it's because of Theodore's face.
Apart from the ships that regularly deliver supplies, there are no men in the castle; the women there help each other out.
Whether the head butler took a fancy to Theodore or wanted to offer Theodore to the castle master, they had to admit that Theodore's status was much higher than theirs.
As long as there is profit to be made, people will fawn over anyone, regardless of whether they are male or female.
Theodore is not so easy to please; the only person by his side so far is a girl named Jiang You.
In Gary's eyes, all Asians look the same, and he really can't tell whether people from the Jiangyou region are good-looking or not.
“It’s all tied up,” Theodore said, pressing the ends of the hair down with his fingertips and then gently pressing on the top of the head, as if to check the tightness.
Upon hearing this, Jiang You stirred, shifting his attention from the weeds, and opened his mouth to praise Theodore.
Every time Theodore did something for her, she would say nice things. Theodore was already waiting for the praise, and he was about to blurt out "It was nothing," "Shut up, you're so annoying."
But when Jiang You saw Gary, his words took a different turn: "Theo... Gary, you're here!"
Theodore: "<(`^′)>"
What's going on? Gary suddenly felt that Theodore seemed to dislike her even more.
