Chapter 222
Before she could think it through, Jiang You walked over and said, "Gary..."
The girl's English wasn't very fluent yet, but it had improved since the first day. Gary thought casually, his gaze involuntarily drifting towards Theodore.
He didn't look this way; his golden eyes were fixed on the lollipop in his right hand, his index finger and thumb slowly twirling the strawberry-flavored lollipop stem.
“I think Theodore hates me,” Gary said to the girl with certainty.
Jiang You was taken aback. She subconsciously looked at Theodore: "No, he's like that to everyone."
Gary remained noncommittal; her intuition was always accurate.
......
After finishing his business with Gary, Jiang You walked towards Theodore.
"What are you and that freckled woman talking about?" Theodore's voice drifted over, seemingly casually asking.
He didn't look up until she sat down next to him, at which point Theodore lifted his eyelids and glanced at her smiling face.
A bit of an eyesore, I raised my hand and tugged at her cheek, then quickly let go and looked at the ground.
“What freckled girl? She has a name, Gary,” Jiang You said helplessly. “No wonder Gary said Theodore hates her. Don’t give people nicknames so easily, especially nicknames based on a girl’s appearance.”
Theodore grunted twice, displeased, and said, "You still haven't told me what we talked about?"
"We didn't talk much. Lunch break is over, let's go."
Theodore raised his chin: "What a clumsy attempt to change the subject, so awful."
Jiang You pretended not to hear and walked outside.
Staring at her dashing figure, Theodore clicked his tongue and followed.
Frustrated, he walked on, instinctively reaching for the ring on his little finger, only to find it empty, which only fueled his frustration.
It took three days to pick the fruit. On the fourth day, we didn't need to go to the orchard on the back hill.
Jiang You and Theodore were assigned to prepare the ingredients in the kitchen.
“Little sparrow,” Theodore came up behind her, placed his hands on her shoulders, rested his chin on the top of her head, and said boredly, “Aren’t you done washing yet? You’re so slow.”
"Those who haven't done any work have no right to criticize me!" Jiang You angrily looked up at him.
Their eyes met, and her dark eyes reflected his image. Theodore hadn't expected her to do this, and his heart skipped a beat. He instinctively looked away and saw the strawberries in the pool.
Jiang You was caught off guard when a strawberry was suddenly stuffed into his mouth. His index fingertip touched his soft lips, and Theodore's eyelashes trembled. He abruptly withdrew his hand and stood there stunned.
The girl didn't feel much, but she lowered her head guiltily. She hadn't stolen any food; Theodore had forced it into her mouth.
The little incident passed quickly. After washing the strawberries, Jiang You had some free time and went to talk to Gary.
When Theodore found Jiang You, she and Gary were chatting happily in front of the stained glass windows of the castle, which was at least two stories high. Her eyes were curved and radiated sweetness.
It's annoying when I'm clinging to him, but it's even more annoying when I'm clinging to other people.
Gary noticed him approaching first and, somewhat ingratiatingly, said softly, "Theodore."
His eyebrows and eyes were lowered, just like when he first met Jiang You, when Jiang You's eyes showed curiosity, wariness, and a desire to get close.
Because she assumed he was the same sex, her initial wariness quickly disappeared in response to his friendliness.
“I need to talk to her,” Theodore said casually, turning his gaze to Jiang You.
Gary wisely withdrew.
Jiang You scratched his face: "What do you want from me?"
"fine."
Jiang You: "???"
