Chapter Seventy-One
"Jiangyou?" The voice was deliberately lowered, alluring yet unsettling.
Xia Yan came up behind her, his slender and even fingers moving slowly from the girl's lower back to her front waist.
Jiang You shrank slightly and turned around. Xia Yan was very close to her; she could even see the shadows cast by each of Xia Yan's eyelashes.
The man lowered his eyes, staring at her arrogantly: "Youyou, did I tell you today that you're exceptionally beautiful?"
The girl blinked, and Xia Yan chuckled, pinching her chin and forcing her to tilt her head back. He then leaned down and kissed her.
After a short, gentle kiss, he started biting and sucking her lips like a dog in heat, his breath unsteady.
Just as Jiang You was about to suffocate from the kisses, the boy softened again.
With each sudden tightening and loosening, she quickly succumbed, her body going limp as she leaned against Xia Yan, enduring his passionate kisses.
When they came to their senses, they were already pinned to the bed and kissed for quite a while.
"I'm going to take a shower first," Xia Yan stood up, then, as if remembering something, looked at her with a playful glint in his eyes, "Want to shower with me?"
Jiang You's face turned bright red: "No!"
Xia Yan shrugged. Anyway, they were going to spend their whole lives together, so a little longer wouldn't make a difference.
"Xia Yan," Jiang You, lying on the bed, called out to Xia Yan a second before he stepped into the bathroom, looking at the white ceiling.
"What's wrong? Changed your mind? Want to shower together?"
Jiang You's fingertips twitched slightly. She wondered how Xia Yan would react after she told him she wanted to break up.
She was most afraid that he would investigate. If he investigated Song Yun, she was terrified when she thought of Xia Yan's terrifying expression at the comic convention.
And revenge? Getting her expelled from school would be an easy thing to do, wouldn't it?
Not only that, taking down their family would be a piece of cake, right?
The news of wealthy people who were almost certainly guilty of murder but didn't go to jail kept playing in Jiang You's mind. The more she thought about it, the more frightened and terrified she became. It seemed that there was no solution except for Xia Yan taking the initiative to break up with her.
She opened her mouth, her throat feeling a little itchy: "It's okay, you go wash up."
Xia Yan raised an eyebrow, not understanding what Jiang You was up to, and went into the bathroom.
While taking a bath, she belatedly realized something and came out, saying slowly and deliberately, "Youyou, from now on, make sure you look carefully before you hug someone, understand?"
Jiang You thought of the man's waist and his delicate, elegant fragrance. She sat up in bed and nodded awkwardly, "I know."
Xia Yan's pure black hair was slightly damp, all combed back, revealing her full forehead and highlighting her superior bone structure.
He wore only a towel around his waist, his upper body was bare, and two necklaces hung from his smooth neck: one a metal cross, and the other a black cord with gold trim, from which hung a round white jade pendant the size of a thumbnail.
After the boy finished speaking, he took out a box from the cabinet next to him and said as he opened it, "You seem to really like Xu Yan?"
"Yes, she's fine..."
Her mother is the chairperson of the All-China Women's Federation, and Xu Yan did her a great favor.
“Since you like her so much, let her spend more time with you these next few days,” Xia Yan said with a smile as he rummaged through the box, blurting it out almost without thinking.
The domineering tone in his words proves that the young man has everything he wants. He has no shortage of money, love, or freedom. This carefree young master, the perfect man in the eyes of outsiders, actually likes the most ordinary and plain girl.
Like a dream, Jiang You lowered his head, pondered for a few moments, then looked up and said with a grin:
"Xia Yan, you've been so good to me, giving me jewelry and buying me clothes. If... we break up, will you want to go back to me?"
"We won't break up, never," Xia Yan said, squatting down beside the box and continuing to rummage through it.
The items inside made sounds as they were moved.
“I know it won’t,” Jiang You lowered his head again, nervously twisting his fingers, pursing his lips, and spoke again, “I mean, what if, what if we break up? What if…”
As she spoke, she didn't notice the sudden silence that filled the space. The sounds of rummaging through things disappeared, leaving only the girl's voice.
After speaking, Jiang You, who had not received a response for a long time, raised his head and suddenly met a cold gaze.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she froze on the bed, stammering, "Xia,"
"What are you testing?" Xia Yan's voice was icy cold.
He stood up from beside the box, a fierce glint appearing in his peach blossom eyes, and his long, imposing legs walked towards her step by step.
His expression was terrifying, and his voice was almost devoid of emotion: "Youyou, do you want to break up?"
The boy's expression was even darker than at the anime convention. Jiang You was so frightened that she couldn't even finish her sentence, fearing that she would be torn to pieces that night: "No...no, I, I was just curious, asking, asking...no, I didn't mean anything else."
Xia Yan stood in front of her, his clear, amber eyes lowered, staring at her with an indifferent disregard for life, which was chilling.
He didn't speak, and everything disappeared except for the sound of their breathing.
Jiang You felt as if the air around her had been sucked away, and every breath made her feel suffocated and uncomfortable.
"Jiang You," Xia Yan called out her name, her peach blossom eyes welling up with tears, purer than the moon rising in the sky, and a smile appeared on her lips: "So you were just curious. I thought you were going to break up with me."
The boy's lips, which were already slightly upturned, curved upwards even further. He placed his hands on her shoulders, level with her gaze, and revealed a bright, yet somewhat sickly, smile: "Youyou, I don't like this topic, but what can I do? I love you, so I'll answer your question. But this is the first and last time."
His features appeared even more exquisite and beautiful under the light: "We will never be apart, unless you die. No, even if you die, I will die with you."
After saying that, he said maliciously, "Of course, when I die, I will drag you down with me. No one will separate us, not even in death."
Xia Yan crouched down beside her, looking up at the pale-faced girl: "Don't even think about leaving me, never."
Jiang You's pupils trembled slightly, his throat was dry, and he couldn't say a word.
"Hmm..." He chuckled and said, "Why are you so scared? There aren't that many dead people, there are plenty of living ones."
Xia Yan regained her composure, got up, and walked towards the box. "Or do you really want to break up?"
Jiang You snapped out of his daze and shook his head vigorously: "No, I didn't."
This pleased the boy, who let out a laugh and happily rummaged through the box with both hands. Finally, he sighed helplessly, "Oh well, I'll just use whichever one I get."
Xia Yan dragged the suitcase to the bedside, and Jiang You immediately saw what was inside.
