Chapter 77 Housekeeping and Cleaning (10)

Chapter 77 Housekeeping and Cleaning (10)

The team communication channel fell silent.

Gou Wenyan imagined the grand scene in the master bedroom's bathroom and suddenly felt his head buzzing.

After experiencing so many dungeons, I've become almost immune to horror scenes. While I can't be completely calm, remaining composed and indifferent is an essential skill for every player.

but--

We were human beings after all, and one of the weaknesses of humans is the one-sidedness of learning.

The four-person team consists of three members, one of whom, Xing Lei, has a broad knowledge base, while the other three are academically weak to varying degrees.

[Gou Wenyan: Little sister, I really want to help you, but unfortunately, I'm not capable enough.]

[Xing Lei: Don't worry, even if the bones of ten bodies were piled up together, I could still tell them apart. I'll teach you the basic classifications of human bones first.]

As soon as Xing Lei sent the message, the pile of bones in the bathroom, which was originally as high as a small mountain, instantly doubled in size.

Cheng Danyang had never seen anything like this before and was completely stunned.

After a moment of realizing what was happening, he pointed tremblingly at the other side and asked, "Brother Bai, why... why are there so many more?"

Bai Ye felt that this scene was familiar; he seemed to have seen it before in a solo instance.

I didn't know the reason back then, but now I have a vague idea.

"These inanimate objects are strange; they can sense emotions. It seems that even intra-channel communication isn't safe, and they've figured it out."

"What?" Cheng Danyang was completely confused.

Bai Ye: "Brother Lei confidently boasted that they were not convinced, so they actually increased the number to ten."

Cheng Danyang: "?...!"

My inner feelings are beyond words.

After a long while, he put his hands together and bowed towards the pile of bones in front of him.

white night:"?"

After Cheng Danyang finished bowing, he said, "My lords, please show mercy. This is enough."

No more bones were added, and Cheng Danyang relented, turning back with a bitter smile. "My grandmother taught me this. She said that if you have a wish, you should pray earnestly, and if the gods are sentient, they will protect you. I think these things are similar in nature."

Bai Ye didn't believe in this, but she still preferred to believe it was true and followed suit with a prayer.

There's no way around it; if the numbers continue to grow, they'll probably be unable to finish this task for several months.

With preliminary preparations complete, Xing Lei provided off-site guidance while Cheng Danyang and Bai Ye pieced together a human skeletal diagram on-site. Given that both were novices, Xing Lei instructed them to first perform a rough classification.

[Xing Lei: The human skeleton is simply divided into the skull, trunk bones, and limb bones. Within these, there are different shapes, including long bones, short bones, flat bones, and irregular bones. There are many more subdivisions, but I won't go into detail.]

[Xing Lei: First, find the skull, then the torso, including the ribs, sternum, and vertebrae. Finally, find the bones of the limbs, with the long bones being the easiest to find. Use these to distinguish the upper and lower limbs...]

Xing Lei's idea was simple: to have Bai Ye and Cheng Danyang play a game of assembling human models.

In this process, the most iconic bones are first roughly located in the human body, and then the details are completed from large to small.

To help the two grasp the details more accurately, Xing Lei tried to explain in segments, specifically describing the shape of each section of the human skeleton and its orientation within the body.

After two hours of such explanation and guidance, Cheng Danyang broke down first.

Cheng Danyang: It's been so long, and we haven't even managed to piece together a single body. This project is too massive; I can't do it.

The bones seemed to be categorized, but they all looked pretty much the same. Cheng Danyang felt a chill run down her spine as she stared at the bones piled up all over the bathroom.

Why is there such a challenge in a cleaning job?

Are all hardcore players this ruthless in dungeons?

[Xing Lei: Danyang, don't rush. Although we haven't pieced together a single body yet, sharpening the axe won't delay the work. Once the foundation is solid, the assembly will become faster and faster.]

Bai Ye thought Xing Lei's words made sense, and having previously pieced together diagrams of the thoracic and abdominal organs, he found the process of assembling the human skeleton to be quite interesting.

Looking back, if my grades hadn't been too low, I almost would have gone to study medicine.

In my youth, I always had lofty ambitions and was passionate about professions that contribute to society.

[Bai Ye: Don't worry, Brother Lei, I'll appease Danyang. You continue with your guidance.]

He turned around, patted Cheng Danyang on the shoulder, and said, "You can rest for a while and just watch me work."

Cheng Danyang didn't want to slack off, but she really couldn't handle it mentally.

Her vision had become so blurry that she couldn't distinguish which bone was which.

However, sitting in a corner of the bathroom, watching Bai Ye continue to work diligently and energetically, I found it incredible.

"Brother Bai, aren't you tired?"

Cheng Danyang was puzzled. "Sometimes, different fields are like different worlds. For me, this is no different from solving a math problem that I have no clue how to solve. Even though I have Brother Lei to guide me, they look too similar."

The bones were badly broken and piled up, enough for about ten people.

The sorting process itself is extremely difficult.

Bai Ye didn't turn around, and said while picking through the pieces, "It is a bit difficult, but not too difficult. If you look closely, you can see a little bit. Just like Brother Lei said, every bone in the human body may look similar, but it is unique."

"What if it's misclassified?"

"Mistakenly sorted? Then just pick them out and sort them again."

"But if we do that, all our previous efforts will have been in vain."

"How could that be? Without the work done beforehand, we wouldn't know we made a mistake. Everything we do is useful; correct actions give us a sense of accomplishment, and mistakes increase our experience..."

As Cheng Danyang listened to Bai Ye speaking in a low voice, his initial agitation gradually subsided.

After resting for a while, I got back to work.

It was five hours later when the first complete human skeleton was pieced together.

After Xing Lei confirmed it repeatedly, it was undoubtedly correct.

Cheng Danyang was very excited and grabbed Bai Ye's arm. "Brother Bai, Brother Bai! We did it! We two novices actually pieced together a complete human skeleton!"

"Yes, we are very good."

"Haha, no, it's all thanks to Brother Bai's meticulousness and Brother Lei's ability. I was just helping out."

"Now that the first one has been pieced together, the rest should be easy, since we have a reference point."

Cheng Danyang nodded excitedly, his heart surging with emotion at that moment.

Suddenly, Gou Wenyan sent a message over the communication channel:

[Gou Wenyan: Brothers and sisters, I have some bad news for you. It's already evening.]

Following this message, another one follows:

[Gou Wenyan: Holy crap! What speed? The sun went down in an instant, how did it get dark already?]

After reading the message, Bai Ye looked up at the only window in the bathroom.

The once bright glass has now been replaced by a dim and gloomy atmosphere.

In the blink of an eye, the bathroom became completely dark.

Cheng Danyang reached out and touched the light, pressed it a few times, and said helplessly, "It's always like this. When it gets dark, the circuit in this house is like it's dead. But as soon as it gets light, it's back to normal."

"Should we continue?" Cheng Danyang asked again.

Bai Ye turned around and asked, "Do you want to continue?"

Cheng Danyang nodded, "Yes, we spent a lot of time sorting and picking, and the first one has already been assembled. It would be too much of a waste to give up now. Who knows if they'll have a new trick up their sleeve when we come back the next day."

No one could have predicted such bizarre methods.

Cheng Danyang is not afraid of the strange. Even without weapons and with his combat power reduced by half, he can still fight one by one, or two by two.

"Brother Bai, don't be afraid, I will protect you." Cheng Danyang waved his fist.

Bai Ye chuckled and, taking advantage of the fact that the communication channel was still working, told his two partners outside that the two of them had stayed behind to continue working.

[Xing Lei: Be careful, and keep an eye out for those two strange creatures.]

After that, it was time to work in the dark.

Bai Ye was in charge of the work, while Cheng Danyang was in charge of defense, repeating the simple yet complicated steps of piecing things together.

The second body, the third body... the eighth body...

Bai Ye finally breathed a sigh of relief when the tenth human skeleton was completed.

"Danyang, keep an eye on things. I'm going to check inside the wardrobe."

"Brother Bai, you go ahead, I'll keep watch at the door of the dressing room."

Bai Ye felt relieved, picked up the skull of one of the bodies, walked into the dressing room, and headed towards the open cabinet belonging to the lady of the house.

Sensing everywhere, nothing, nothing, nothing... then I found it!

Bai Ye stopped, reached inside, and touched some soft fabric.

I took it out and, with my good eyesight, I immediately saw that it was a new Chinese-style pullover made of embroidered fabric.

The embroidered pattern on the cuffs was worn out, and the embroidered pattern below the second button on the front, which should have been three-dimensional, was squeezed and wrinkled into a flat surface.

Bai Ye took out the embroidered sweater and hung it on the clothes rack in the bathroom.

Next, find the second item, the third item...

All ten garments were found, all made of fabrics that are difficult to care for: silk, linen, velvet, lace, sequined designs, organza, and so on.

Bai Ye, of course, didn't understand; this was what Cheng Danyang told him.

As she said this, she looked envious. "They're all so beautiful! Every single one of these clothes is so well-designed. If there weren't any wrinkles or small tears, they would be absolutely amazing!"

"Once these human skeletons are reattached, they will be able to regain their original appearance."

Bai Ye continued to talk to these eerie creatures in the same way he would coax children, offering encouragement and praise as he spoke, until finally all ten human skeletons stood up.

Just when Bai Ye thought they should return to their original form, a magical scene unfolded.

The ten human skeletons seemed to come alive, then joined hands and formed a circle, surrounding Bai Ye.

They move with light steps, or simply float in the air, slowly and leisurely turning around.

Bai Ye was stunned. What was going on?

Cheng Danyang, however, suddenly remembered something and whispered, "Brother Bai, Brother Bai."

Bai Ye turned his head and heard Cheng Danyang say, "Let's play a game, a game of dropping the handkerchief, where the loser goes back to their original position."

Bai Ye suddenly realized something, picked up a clean rag from the table, and played a game of dropping the handkerchief with the ten skeletons.

"Drop the handkerchief, drop it, drop it, gently place it behind the child..."

Put it down, start running, can't catch up, lose—

Baiye comforted each of the slow-moving skeletons, promising to play games with them again tomorrow.

The skeleton was reluctant to leave, but it still obediently went back.

Each piece of clothing was transformed, regaining its luster.

The wrinkles disappeared, and the clothes became smooth and flat. The embroidery became three-dimensional, and the colors were more vibrant and lifelike...

Cheng Danyang liked it more and more as she looked at it, and she admired it very much. "A girl's wardrobe is the most colorful in the world. They are all so beautiful."

Bai Ye was running so hard he was almost out of breath.

What appears to be a short loop is actually an infinitely extended tunnel.

To outsiders, it looked like he had only run a dozen meters, but in reality, Bai Ye had already run more than ten kilometers.

Multiplying such a length by several loops, and then by a factor of ten, the result is predictable...

When chasing the last skeleton, Bai Ye almost ran out of breath. The reason was simple: this skeleton was incredibly fast and had seemingly endless energy.

He was definitely the most mischievous of the ten "kids".

Bai Ye guessed that the fabric of this garment was probably the most difficult to maintain, and he didn't know what material it was made of.

"Once I catch up with you, I'll hang you at the very back."

These kinds of clothes are best left as an admiring glance; once you wear them, they're impossible to clean properly, it's a nightmare.

The skeleton was running happily when it saw Bai Ye about to catch up behind it. Suddenly, it had a mischievous idea and slammed on the brakes.

Bai Ye couldn't avoid it and bumped right into the other party.

"Brother Bai!"

Cheng Danyang cried out in alarm, but it was too late.

The intact skeleton was smashed to pieces; upon closer inspection, it was found to be completely broken into pieces.

Cheng Danyang was filled with despair. In the pitch black, should they risk killing another body?

"Brother Bai, what should we do?" Cheng Danyang asked for help.

However, the restroom was quiet, and no one answered.

Cheng Danyang quickly turned around and searched back and forth in the small bathroom and dressing room, finally confirming that Bai Ye was gone again.

Looking at the broken bones on the ground, and then thinking of the two strange figures lying on the master bedroom bed, Cheng Danyang was conflicted.

"Bang bang bang—"

There was a knock at the door, and Gou Wenyan shouted from outside, "Old Bai, Danyang, come out quickly, it's almost midnight."

"Brother Bai, I'm sorry."

Cheng Danyang gritted her teeth and could only run towards the door.

At this moment, Bai Ye lay on the ground, completely dazed.

He was grabbed by an unknown hand, which held him tightly.

He kept saying, "We found you. You lost. Now it's your turn to go back."

What is it?

Before Bai Ye could figure it out, a huge suction force suddenly lifted him up, and then, like a gentle breeze, slammed him heavily into the darkness.

When I opened my eyes again, I was in the closet.

The sounds of laughter and giggling filled the air.

"Lolo is back, Lolo is back."

"Family members gathered, great!"

"It's getting dark, can we sneak out to play?"

"Wait a minute, Lolo hasn't agreed yet, hurry up and ask her."

Bai Ye felt a tremendous force pushing him, almost squeezing him into a corner, but the force quickly disappeared, and a small voice was apologizing.

"Lolo, I'm sorry, your lace is a little wrinkled. I didn't mean to."

"How silly, this makes Luo Luo less pretty."

"It's alright, we'll have those humans reorganize it for us tomorrow."

Bai Ye looked down at himself, then looked up at the person opposite him, and suddenly felt as if the sky had fallen.

Help!

How did I turn into a Lolita-style puffy silk lace dress?

There's a huge bow on her chest!
