Chapter 106 Don't kiss me so casually next time

Chapter 106 Don't kiss me so casually next time

Lin Zaoyi had a question mark in her mind: Is that still like a job?

Shake head.

The man's gaze sharpened, and he asked, "Why?"

She answered seriously, "It's not a good influence. Who brings their family to work?"

Hearing this, Tan Zhaojing's lips curled up slightly, but the next second, her addition made his smile instantly disappear.

She said, "Don't misunderstand, I meant brothers and sisters when I said family members."

She knows how to hurt someone deeply.

Tan Zhaojing patted her head helplessly, "Be good."

Her arm was brushed away, and the girl's eyes showed some displeasure. "Also, you're not allowed to kiss me so casually next time."

A smile flickered in his eyes. "So you mean I need to submit an application?"

Self-answer: "If I apply now, when will I typically expect to get approved?"

Lin Zaoyi refused to answer such a boring question, "Let go, I have to go to work."

The pressure on his waist remained unchanged. "Wait a minute."

She glanced at him. "What are you up to now?"

Tan Zhaojing: "..."

The word "again" sounds really jarring.

He didn't argue with her. "When are you going to the Ji family next time?"

Just as she was asking, she received a message. Lin Zaoyi opened it casually, and Tan Zhaojing could see it with just a glance, without even having to do it deliberately.

He is Ji Boshen's assistant.

[Reporter Lin, the time is confirmed, 11:00 AM tomorrow is fine.]

Lin Zaoyi, completely unaware that someone was spying on her, replied with an OK emoji.

After sending the message, she pulled her arm back from her waist, feeling relieved. She picked up her laptop bag, opened the car door, and just as she stretched one leg out, his voice rang out behind her, "Take the food."

"You eat it yourself."

When have you ever seen me eat these?

Lin Zaoyi looked back and said, "Then we need to learn how to eat."

After saying that, he slammed the car door shut.

The sound wasn't loud, but it made Assistant Shao, who was standing a few meters away, widen his eyes slightly. He finally understood that President Tan was the one who was willing to pay anyone a fee, and not only that, but he wasn't even treated well.

Before leaving get off work, Lin Zaoyi knocked on the editor-in-chief's door with the revised interview transcript. Unexpectedly, her own mother was also there. She was sitting on the sofa with her legs elegantly crossed, while the editor-in-chief stood to the side, seemingly reporting on his work.

He paused for a moment, then said, "Sorry to bother you, I'll come back later."

"It's okay, I'm almost done here."

Her mother beckoned to her, "Come in, let's go home together when you're done."

Lin Zaoyi subconsciously looked at her direct supervisor. Judging from the unwavering expression on her face, the editor-in-chief seemed to have already guessed what was going on.

It doesn't matter anymore.

It's not like we have a relationship that's shameful.

I handed the materials to the editor-in-chief.

Xiang Nan flipped through the book, a look of surprise flashing in her eyes. "The Ji family has made another move."

Lin Zaoyi nodded, "We were lucky to get an exclusive."

Xiang Nan doesn't think so.

Mingxian pondered this further. After getting into the car, she asked her daughter, "Did you contact Bai Shen, or did Bai Shen offer you the exclusive offer on his own initiative?"

Lin Zaoyi understood the unspoken meaning behind her mother's words: "Mom, your daughter isn't a hundred-yuan bill that everyone loves. President Ji has no interest in me."

Mingxian smiled, "I was just asking casually."

As he spoke, he glanced at Gui Yatou again, feeling that she seemed to be in a good mood today, unlike her gloomy mood a while ago.

I wonder if it's because I've moved on.

Zhaojing...shouldn't you let it go now?

...

The following morning, Lin Zaoyi arrived at the Ji family's parking lot ten minutes early. She was having bad luck today and couldn't find a parking space that matched her skill level after circling around the parking lot several times. Just as she was circling the parking lot for the second time, someone called her.

"Stay where you are."

She exclaimed "Ah!" and glanced around before fixing her gaze on a certain spot. It was a cold day, and Tan Zhaojing was wearing a gray overcoat with the buttons undone, revealing a shirt that clung to his waist. His driver followed behind him.

The driver quickly came over and said, "Ms. Lin, I'll stop here. You can go about your business."

Lin Zaoyi: "Thank you for your help."

He got out of the car and looked at the person. "What are you doing here? Don't tell me it's just a coincidence that we have work to discuss."

"Half of them are."

The other reason seemed obvious. Lin Zaoyi looked at him and said, "How am I supposed to work like this?"

"I won't interrupt. Besides, you're talking to Ji Baishen's assistant about work, while I'm talking to Ji Baishen."

As they spoke, the man's prominent wrist bone took her laptop bag directly, and he took her hand with his other hand.

The extremely natural movement made Lin Zaoyi momentarily dazed. She swayed slightly, but naturally did not break free.

"Relax."

He gently stroked the back of her hand with his fingertips and said softly, "Can you let go a little later? It's been so long since we held hands."

That's really pathetic. Because of those words, my heart started pounding wildly, and it took me several breaths to calm down.

Ji Baishen was both surprised and unsurprised by Tan Zhaojing's appearance. "Is there something you need?"

Tan Zhaojing: "Of course."

"explain."

No rush.

The two men exchanged words, seemingly in harmony, but the assistant always felt that the two bosses were secretly competing, though he wasn't sure what they were competing about.

The secretary had the same feeling, and she cautiously stepped forward, "Mr. Tan, what would you like to drink?"

"Coffee, thank you."

The secretary turned to face the other person, but before she could ask anything, she heard two voices at the same time.

"Give her a glass of juice."

"She'll just have juice."

secretary:"……"

assistant:"……"

Lin Zaoyi: "..."

She didn't have to drink it.

The secretary was at a loss for what to do: should she answer to the boss, or should she answer to General Manager Tan?

Fortunately, reporter Lin spoke up, "Could you please give me a glass of water?"

The secretary gave her a grateful look. "No trouble at all."

As the door closed, the office fell into a brief silence, which lasted only two seconds. Tan Zhaojing looked calmly at the person who had interrupted, and asked, "Where is Zaoyi doing her interview?"

Ji Baishen silently nodded in the cubicle meeting room.

Tan Zhaojing went along with them.

Ji Baishen: ?

He laughed in exasperation, "Tan Zhaojing, you seem to have a lot of free time."

Tan Zhaojing didn't turn around. "I'll sit with my girlfriend for a while, then I'll look for you."

Lin Zaoyi, who was half a meter ahead: "..."

I wanted to scoff, but then I thought better of it.

Ten minutes later, the secretary knocked on the door and came in with a tray, but unexpectedly, everyone, including President Ji, moved to the cubicle office.

As she handed it to the guest, she reminded him, "Mr. Tan, be careful, it's hot."

Tan Zhaojing nodded, "Thank you."

Across the table, where the interview was originally handled by the assistant, Ji Baishen now took over the entire task. The assistant was confused, but Tan Zhaojing understood perfectly. He lowered his gaze and tapped his coffee cup with his fingers.

Glass has poor thermal conductivity, and after a few moments, my fingertips were burning hot. I forgot to move them away, my attention was entirely on the other side, and I took the opportunity to call out to Ji Baishen, "Let's go, let's go over and talk."

"What's the rush?" Ji Boshen's gaze drifted over to them. "I haven't finished talking yet. If you have something to do, you can leave first, and we can discuss it another day."

Lin Zaoyi preferred to be interviewed by Ji Boshen, the person in charge, rather than by her assistant. She shifted her attention slightly and said, "Brother Zhaojing, just leave the car keys with my secretary."

After she finished speaking, she returned to the interview and had just continued her story when she suddenly heard the sound of a cup being knocked over on the table, followed by a soft hiss of pain.

Brown coffee spilled all over the table, the liquid gushing down the edges.

Seeing this, she stood up in a panic, ran around the table, and grabbed Tan Zhaojing's hand, asking, "Are you burned?"

As I asked the question, the skin on the back of my hand visibly turned red.

"It's alright."

He spoke in a nonchalant tone, "It's just a little burn."

The assistant picked up a tissue to wipe the table, wondering how the coffee could have spilled when it was placed there perfectly.

Ji Baishen leaned back in his chair, speechless.

"Mr. Ji," the girl looked over anxiously, "do you have any sterile gauze?"

He hummed in agreement. "I'll have my secretary get it for you."

Before Lin Zaoyi could say thank you, she pulled Tan Zhaojing toward the restroom.

After walking a few steps, Ji Boshen's voice came from behind him, "There's a restroom in my office. I'm afraid Tan Zhaojing might have already recovered before he even leaves this room."
