Chapter 2 The Child
Tromsø, Norway.
Yun Zhaozhao sat by the lake, waiting for the aurora to appear.
Just then, her phone rang; it was her friend Zhou Xiao calling.
"Bao'er, where are you?"
"Norway."
"You went to see the aurora by yourself? Why didn't you call me?"
Zhou Xiao was obviously aware that Yun Zhaozhao planned to come to Norway to see the Northern Lights this year.
"On a whim."
After leaving the hospital, she didn't want to go back, so in the middle of the night, she transferred several flights and came to Norway.
Although it was an impulsive act, I don't regret it!
She had wanted to see the aurora borealis for many years, and she wanted to see it with Pei Jiuyan. She had waited for several years, but it still hadn't happened.
Since she couldn't wait any longer, she decided to do it herself, which would at least make it a proper ending.
Noticing that she was in a low mood, Zhou Xiao cautiously asked, "Are you still arguing with Pei Jiuyan about the documents?"

Zhou Xiao chattered on, "You have no idea, Pei Jiuyan has been driving me crazy these past two days while you were gone."
"That person acted like he couldn't understand human language, insisting that I was hiding you and that he was blocking my way downstairs every day."
"Ignore him," Yun Zhaozhao said nonchalantly.
Noticing her coldness, Zhou Xiao agreed, saying, "Indeed! Pei Jiuyan really went too far this time."
"Knowing full well that his meddlesome mother likes Wenshu, he still fawns over her. There are so many people watching, doesn't he know how to be discreet?"
"Don't even mention you, I get angry just hearing that!"
"Baby, listen to me, we can't let this go this time!"
"……Um!"
Yun Zhaozhao listened half-heartedly; most of her attention was already on the sky.
A wisp of emerald green light slowly appeared in the blackness. At first, it was only green, but later various colors intertwined, and the beautiful light spread to both sides, illuminating half of the horizon.
She's even more beautiful than in photos and videos!
Only those who see it with their own eyes can truly appreciate the awe-inspiring power of nature.
It turns out she can still be happy without Pei Jiuyan!
Hearing Zhou Xiao still listing Pei Jiuyan's 'ten deadly sins', Yun Zhaozhao laughed: "Since you all dislike him so much, then I'll choose someone else!"

There are plenty!
She doesn't necessarily need Pei Jiuyan!
“Yes, let’s try something else… Ah? Ah!” Zhou Xiao let out a squeal on the other end of the phone, “My darling, you’ve finally come to your senses?”
“That bastard Pei Jiuyan should have been replaced long ago. He looks respectable, but he’s a scoundrel. You don’t even know that… Hmm, Bao’er, stop being so temperamental. Look how good Pei Jiuyan is to you! We’ve had our little tiff, that’s enough. Why are you running away from home?”
Yun Zhaozhao raised her eyebrows, and sure enough, the next moment, a familiar voice, tinged with annoyance, came from behind her.

"Yun Zhaozhao, tell him you're married, and tell him to get lost!"
Yun Zhaozhao ignored Pei Jiuyan's clamor and replied with a smile, "Yes, I am a person."
"Yun Zhaozhao!"
Pei Jiuyan's low growl came from the other end of the phone, clearly indicating that he was extremely angry.
Yun Zhaozhao hung up the phone immediately, then slowly stood up and said to the tall man, "I'm sorry, although I'm alone right now, I'm afraid I can't make an appointment."
"Also, if possible, could you please tell me where the nearest hospital is?"

Soon, a foreign doctor came over with the test results.
"Ma'am, do you have a husband?"
"Dead."

The doctor looked apologetic, but Yun Zhaozhao smiled and said, "No need to apologize, it's good that he's dead."
"Ahem! So, do you have any relatives or friends here?" the doctor said with a light cough.
Upon hearing this, Yun Zhaozhao sat up abruptly from the hospital bed: "What's wrong with my body?"
When the doctor didn't answer, she added, "I came here alone, without any friends. My family... they're all gone!"
Yun Zhaozhao's voice was somewhat bitter. Even after a year, she still couldn't recover from the deaths of her parents and brother.
The doctor gave her a sympathetic look and told her about the examination.
"Based on the blood test, you are likely pregnant."
"Pregnant?"
Yun Zhaozhao's expression changed immediately.
She's pregnant!
She subconsciously touched her lower abdomen, her expression complicated.
If she had heard this news a year ago, she would have jumped for joy.
Pei Jiuyan has always wanted a child.
Countless times when he was moved by passion, he whispered in her ear, "Zhaozhao, give me a child, a baby that belongs to us."
Ironically, despite having slept together so many times during their passionate moments, neither of them ever got pregnant.
Now that things have come to this, she's actually pregnant!
All things considered, this child should have been conceived a little over a month ago during the time Pei Jiuyan was drunk.
That time, they had a cold war for a few days, and then Pei Jiuyan came back that night and took her again and again like a madman, so much so that she couldn't get out of bed the next day.
The next day, Pei Jiuyan coaxed her with his newest jewelry and said he would take her to see the aurora borealis. She was immediately appeased.
At that time, Pei Jiuyan said that since he was working so hard, maybe she was already pregnant.
She laughed at him then, but who knew it would actually come true.
Snapping out of her reverie, Yun Zhaozhao bit her lip and said, "Doctor, please remove it for me!"
This child should not have come; her child must have been born amidst endless anticipation and grown up in love.
Now, however, she can give nothing at all.
