Chapter 3 I Was Wrong
Yun Zhaozhao stayed in the hospital for a day and was not allowed to leave until the next morning.
Not only was the child not aborted, but she was also given several boxes of progesterone.
She had abdominal pain because she was showing signs of miscarriage.
Even though she repeatedly said she didn't want the child, the doctor could only shrug helplessly. She wasn't a citizen of this country, and they wouldn't perform such an operation on her.
The doctor advised her to return to China as soon as possible for a more detailed examination, and then decide whether or not to keep the child.
In short, a whole host of upsetting things.
While booking a flight on her phone, Yun Zhaozhao took a taxi back to her hotel. When she got out of the taxi, she threw the medicine directly into the trash can.
They don't even want the baby! What's the point of saving the pregnancy?!
The elevator doors opened, and Yun Zhaozhao paused in her tracks upon seeing the familiar, tall figure standing in the corridor.
Pei Jiuyan arrived at some unknown time. There was a pile of cigarette butts on the trash can next to him, and his handsome face showed signs of fatigue.
He scrutinized Yun Zhaozhao from head to toe, making sure she wasn't injured, before saying, "You're back? Where have you been running around all night?"
"Didn't you hear that? Europeans have great stamina, so they have to stay up all night, right?" Yun Zhaozhao retorted.
Pei Jiuyan's breathing suddenly became heavy, and his eyes were fierce, but he calmed down again for some reason and scoffed: "After a whole night of this, you can still get out of bed? I don't know who it is, so useless, can't even last two rounds and is crying and begging for mercy."
Having been together for so many years, he knew all too well what Yun Zhaozhao was like afterward.
She's very delicate; if you're too gentle, she'll scold you, and if you're too harsh, she'll cry. She's very difficult to please.
If you stay up too long, you'll have to lie in bed for most of the next day.
Yun Zhaozhao's face darkened, and she said sarcastically, "Sometimes you can't blame the field for being bad, you can blame the ox for being bad. Although they are all oxen, there is still a big difference between them. If the work is bad and the skills are poor, you can't blame the people for not cooperating, right?"
"Yun Zhaozhao, do you not want this damn mouth of yours anymore?" Pei Jiuyan was completely enraged. His chest heaved rapidly, and his thin lips were tightly pressed together, clearly showing that he was in a fit of rage.
Even though he knew it was fake, he still couldn't help but get angry; no man could tolerate such words.
To outsiders, he is calm, meticulous, and highly skilled, never revealing his emotions. But when he faces Yun Zhaozhao, none of these qualities matter. Yun Zhaozhao can turn him into a firecracker, ready to explode at the slightest touch.
Yun Zhaozhao rolled her eyes and didn't provoke him anymore, lest he go crazy and affect her catching her flight.
She swiped the door open and began packing her things.
She didn't pack much. That night, she just grabbed her documents and left without bringing anything with her. She bought everything she needed here.
Seeing her crumple up several pieces of clothing and stuff them into the suitcase, Pei Jiuyan's eyes twitched. He couldn't bear to watch any longer. He walked over, snatched the suitcase from Yun Zhaozhao's hands, emptied its contents, and began to sort them out one by one.
Clothes were folded and neatly arranged, and ID cards and chargers were put into a bag...
"Yun Zhaozhao, I've never seen anyone lazier than you."
"What will you do without me!"
Yun Zhaozhao had heard these words many times, but she didn't care at the time because she was certain that the two of them would not separate.
Every time Pei Jiuyan said that, she would run over and call him "brother" in a coquettish manner, and then the two of them would naturally end up in bed together. She would cling to Pei Jiuyan like a little vixen, making him want her again and again, and promising in her ear that he would take care of her for the rest of his life and let her be his baby.
Looking at the neatly arranged clothes, she walked over, quickly rummaged through them, crumpled them up again, and stuffed them back into the suitcase.
"Yun Zhaozhao!" Pei Jiuyan was quite angry. Yun Zhaozhao was unusually difficult to appease today, and she was constantly going against him. "If you keep acting up, I'm leaving."
In response, Yun Zhaozhao deftly opened the door and gestured for him to enter.
"Please, get out of here quickly!"
Pei Jiuyan's brows twitched violently; the worries of the past few days exploded at this moment.
"Yun Zhaozhao, you'll regret this."
"Don't worry, absolutely not!" Yun Zhaozhao said slowly.
Marrying him was the biggest regret of her life.
She couldn't possibly have regretted anything more than this!
When their eyes met, Pei Jiuyan's anger suddenly dissipated considerably.
Yun Zhaozhao's gaze made him feel choked up.
His little princess was unhappy.
He's the one who made her unhappy!
Thinking about it that way, all the remaining anger disappeared.
He softened his tone and said, "It was Ninth Brother's fault, don't be angry."
"It was wrong of me to break my promise. I've already made arrangements, and we'll be going to Svalbard in a bit."
"You can see the aurora borealis there during the day, and there are also glaciers, Arctic foxes, and other wildlife. You'll definitely love it. And..."
Before he could finish speaking, Yun Zhaozhao interrupted him, saying, "You go by yourself. I've already booked my return ticket, and it's almost too late."
As she was leaving with her luggage, Pei Jiuyan blocked her at the door.
"Yun Zhaozhao, that's enough!"
Even a clay figure has a temper, let alone Pei Jiuyan, whose temper was never exactly good to begin with.
Only with Yun Zhaozhao would he be willing to lower himself to coax and pamper her, but she still didn't appreciate it.
"Do you know how many things I turned down to come to Norway?"
"What do I care! Don't pin this on me. You came here of your own accord; nobody begged you. Stop trying to morally blackmail me!"
Yun Zhaozhao was also furious!
Ever since she found out she was pregnant, she's been in a state of volcanic eruption, and now Pei Jiuyan just has to provoke her.
He wasn't there when she needed him.
Now that she no longer needs him, he's eagerly coming back to her.
She saw the aurora herself, and she can walk her own path from now on.
She was fed up with the endless waiting and the constant moral blackmail.
Every time she met with the Pei family, they would always say, openly or subtly, how good Pei Jiuyan was to her. Despite her spoiled and arrogant temper and the current state of her family, he still married her without complaining. She should be grateful.
She wanted to say that it wasn't her who begged him to marry her.
Back then, he knelt before his parents and elder brother, begging them to marry her to him!
He would give up his life for her!
In the end, she was the one who should be grateful, how disgusting!
Pei Jiuyan looked at her, his expression gradually turning cold.
Yun Zhaozhao did not back down at all, glaring angrily.
The two stared at each other for a long time before Pei Jiuyan finally gave in, forcing a smile: "If you don't want to stay, let's go back. Why are you throwing a tantrum?"
As he spoke, he reached out and took Yun Zhaozhao's hand.
Yun Zhaozhao couldn't dodge in time, and her hand was already being held by him.
Why is it so cold?
Pei Jiuyan frowned, took her hands and was about to warm them when his expression suddenly changed: "Baby, where's your ring?"
Yun Zhaozhao looked up at him and said expressionlessly, "It's lost."
Pei Jiuyan's Adam's apple bobbed noticeably, as if he was suppressing something.
He took a deep breath and said with a mix of helplessness and affection, "You even lost your wedding ring? You're such a scatterbrain."
"It's okay, it's gone. I'll get you a new one. It'll be perfect; your old ring was too plain."
“Pei Jiuyan,” Yun Zhaozhao interrupted Pei Jiuyan’s incessant chatter, looking into his eyes and saying, word by word, “I didn’t accidentally lose the ring; I threw it away.”
"Did you understand?"
