Chapter 38 [VIP]

Chapter 38 [VIP]

Chapter Summary: "President Su has been single for so long, it's time he found a girlfriend."

Recently, Ni Zhenzhen has been thinking a lot because she suddenly realized that she seems to be ostracized.

Ni Zhenzhen couldn't quite explain how she figured it out. Maybe it was because she returned to the company and found everyone in a meeting, but no one had notified her; maybe it was because she wanted to see the meeting minutes out of a sense of responsibility, but found she didn't have the necessary permissions; maybe it was because even when a colleague who had been very friendly to her simply greeted her, she would receive winks from the people around her, as if they were reminding her of something; or maybe it was just a gut feeling.

Recalling the previous internal job transfer, Ni Zhenzhen roughly understood what had happened; she had been "forced to choose sides." It was truly unfair; she hadn't even spoken much with the head of the ship leasing division, yet she had inexplicably become one of his people.

Ni Zhenzhen didn't blame her boss for wrongly accusing her; at this critical juncture, no amount of caution was too much.

Should she pledge her loyalty to her boss? She's afraid that even if she talks herself hoarse, her boss won't believe her, and she might end up making things worse…

Ni Zhenzhen deliberately kept quiet, pretending she knew nothing and continued doing her own thing as usual.

That's why Ni Zhenzhen didn't accept Su Wenjin's assistant's invitation. First, she didn't want her boss to think she was restless and eager to curry favor with Su Wenjin so that she could use him to control others. Second, she was afraid that if she said something wrong, she would ruin the deal she had secured and further confirm her identity as a spy.

Besides, she also had a bit of a "love-it-but-fear-it-is" mentality.

To her, Su Wenjin was like a distant idol; catching a glimpse from afar was fine, getting an autograph or a photo would be nice, but actually eating at the same table...

I can't even imagine it.

Ni Zhenzhen suddenly missed her days as a teller. She greeted and saw off customers every day. Although it was tedious and boring, she had a relatively equal relationship with them. Unlike now, she was always on edge, walking on thin ice. If she accidentally offended someone, she wouldn't even know what had happened.

Fortunately, Ni Zhenzhen's greatest strength was adaptability. Since Li Xiang had sent her to organize the data, she threw herself into it.

Ni Zhenzhen wasn't in a hurry to go back. She deliberately slowed down the process of organizing the materials and began to read the contents carefully.

As she read, she took notes, gradually clarifying the advantages and disadvantages of Boeing and Airbus aircraft, the characteristics of engines produced by different companies, and the clauses included in aircraft insurance contracts...

When the staff from Xinda Aviation came to retrieve the documents, she also took the opportunity to ask them some questions about aircraft maintenance and figured out what A-check, B-check, and C-check were.

Ni Zhenzhen was like a sponge, frantically absorbing all kinds of information, whether useful or not, to the point that she was completely unaware of the gaze coming from someone.

Su Wenjin only glanced at it and didn't linger for long.

He decided he would never do such a thing again.

Su Wenjin originally wanted to give someone a chance to bully others, but the other party didn't appreciate it at all and almost made him look like a sleazy man.

What's worse, somehow the story got out and was used by malicious people to make a big deal out of it, turning it into a weapon to attack him.

In the conference room on the 58th floor, Xu Tianzhou had not yet arrived. A few people sat together chatting. Someone said that Su Wenjin looked a little pale and wondered if she hadn't slept well.

Before Su Wenjin could speak, one of the people sitting furthest away said in a joking tone, "Don't you guys know? President Su is in trouble."

"What's going on?"

The man laughed for a while, his every move exuding an ambiguous "you know what I mean" vibe. "He's been spending every day in the CEO's office with a woman from Jinzu lately, and they were even having dinner together yesterday."

"Really?" everyone exclaimed, turning to look in their direction.

Su Wenjin remained expressionless. He stared intently at the man, tapped his finger on the table, and said in a joking tone, "You planted a spy here? How do you know everything?"

The man became even more smug. "See? No denial means it's true. I knew it! Why choose a company that hasn't even been established yet when there are so many financial leasing companies to choose from? So that's why we have this connection."

Su Wenjin understood; he thought he had something on him and wanted to accuse him of blurring the lines between public and private matters.

Su Wenjin suppressed his anger and smiled at just the right moment, as if he were still chatting casually, "I don't even know her name, and you're saying we have a shady relationship? If this gets out, who will dare to cooperate with us in the future?"

"Do you believe it?" The man looked around, but no one responded. He continued, "It doesn't matter whether we believe it or not, as long as Mr. Xu believes it."

No sooner had the words left his mouth than someone announced, "Mr. Xu has arrived."

Everyone stood up and looked in one direction.

Xu Tianzhou walked slowly, his demeanor refined and elegant. Despite his unchanging attire, he always managed to easily capture everyone's attention.

He nodded to everyone, sat down in a chair, and casually asked, "What were you talking about just now?"

The man spoke first: "We've been saying that President Su has been single for so long, he should find a girlfriend and not always focus on his work."

"Is that so?" Xu Tianzhou responded casually, looking down at the documents his secretary handed him.

Su Wenjin sneered. Did he really think that he would be grateful to him for saying that?

Su Wenjin said without any mercy, "That's not what you said just now."

"That's basically the gist of it," the man replied with a grin. He didn't really intend to break ties with Su Wenjin; he just wanted to use this opportunity to make a show of force and get Su Wenjin to approve the budget that had been stuck for so long.

Su Wenjin wasn't one to be oblivious to the situation. He gave a noncommittal smile and didn't pursue the topic further.

After the meeting ended, several senior executives left first, and Xu Tianzhou and Su Wenjin chatted for a few more minutes about the content of the meeting.

Before leaving, Xu Tianzhou reminded him, "You can't come tomorrow, I have to attend a wedding."

"A wedding?" Su Wenjin was taken aback. How could he not know about such a big event? Last time, when a high-ranking executive's son got married, Xu Tianzhou didn't even bother to attend, only giving a red envelope as a token of his appreciation. Just who had such influence to warrant his attendance?

Whose wedding is it? What do we need to prepare?

"Ready?" Xu Tianzhou asked, puzzled.

Seeing Su Wenjin's nervous expression, he quickly understood and said helplessly, "It's not what you think."

As the president of Cinda Group, Su Wenjin often has to attend various business events, including the weddings of some important figures.

Xu Tianzhou explained, "It was her colleague's wedding."

"oh……"

"However, it does have some connection, as the groom is an employee of Cinda."

"Really?" Su Wenjin said jokingly, "Then you'll have to give me a big red envelope."

"Of course."

Seeing Xu Tianzhou about to leave, the secretary hurriedly went to the coat rack to get his clothes. However, before her hand could even touch the suit jacket, she heard Xu Tianzhou say sternly, "Don't touch it."

Those two unfriendly words sent a chill down the secretary's spine. She stood there, frozen in place with her outstretched hand, for several seconds.

Xu Tianzhou walked over, took off his clothes, and put them on. He was still shaken by the last time Ni Zhenzhen noticed the fragrance on his clothes, which was why he was being extra careful.

Although the secretary withdrew her hand, she still stood there helplessly, not daring to utter a sound or raise her head.

Xu Tianzhou sniffed it but couldn't smell any fragrance. However, he still advised, "Don't wear perfume here in the future."

The secretary paused for a moment. Although she hadn't used perfume since starting work here, she still lowered her head and said meekly, "I understand."

"What?" Su Wenjin's expression was subtle. "She smelled it and thinks you have another woman outside?"

Xu Tianzhou cleverly changed the subject, "They're right, you should find a girlfriend."

Su Wenjin's expression froze; Xu Tianzhou's words inevitably reminded him of what had just happened.

He's starting to regret it.

So what if he complained to Xu Tianzhou? What does he have to be ashamed of? He should let everyone know. Even if he openly dates someone from the business unit, what can Xu Tianzhou say?

Thinking of this, Su Wenjin's brows gradually relaxed, and he said slowly, "Maybe there really will be one. If it works out, you'll be my matchmaker."

If Xu Tianzhou hadn't intended to use financial leasing for financing, he wouldn't have thought of cooperating with a financial leasing company.

"Me?" Xu Tianzhou looked over in surprise. When had he ever done such a thing?

Su Wenjin didn't explain, but instead kept everyone in suspense, saying, "You'll find out later."

Xu Tianzhou wasn't interested in other people's love lives, so he casually replied, "Okay."

After Xu Tianzhou left, the secretary quickly explained, "I didn't wear perfume."

Su Wenjin waved her hand absentmindedly, "Just be more careful next time."

The secretary was somewhat disappointed. Although Su Wenjin did not blame her, she did not believe her at all.

She was truly wronged, but in a flash, the secretary remembered something else. She seemed to have opened a scented invitation. Could it be that the scent had gotten on her clothes then?

The next morning, Xu Tianzhou and Ni Zhenzhen went to a five-star hotel in the suburbs.

Rong Xiaodan's wedding came somewhat unexpectedly.

One afternoon, Ni Zhenzhen received a message from Rong Xiaodan: "Are you there?"

"exist."

Rong Xiaodan: "You actually replied to me! I thought you'd forgotten about us old colleagues after you went to head office [smirking]."

Ni Zhenzhen: "How could that be? [Grinning face]"

Rong Xiaodan: "I'm getting married!"

Before Ni Zhenzhen could even send out the word "Congratulations," Rong Xiaodan's electronic invitation arrived.

When Ni Zhenzhen clicked on it, she saw the couple's names, wedding time and location, and several Korean-style wedding photos accompanied by beautiful music, which stirred her emotions.

Rong Xiaodan added, "You absolutely must come! We'll treat you to a good meal when you do."
