Chapter 2 Chapter 2 What a big bead!
Outside the dilapidated temple, a dark-faced man's face flushed purple. "I don't know who you are, but if you want to kill me, go ahead and do it. How can you rummage through other people's things?"
The tall and thin man was so scared that he quickly grabbed his companion's sleeve and signaled him not to act impulsively.
It turns out that he is not a mute NPC.
Yun Miao looked over in surprise and noticed that the NPC was staring at the buns, pancakes, hemp rope and bellyband in her arms. She responded in a friendly manner.
“I picked this up.”
The dark-faced man said angrily, "This is our bag! That belly... bellyband is a token of love my sweetheart gave me!"
Yun Miao tried to reason with the NPC: "You ran away, and the bag was on the ground. I thought you didn't want it anymore."
What's yours or mine? Players are players!
At this moment, a voice sounded from inside the temple.
"Are you a human or a ghost?"
Yun Miao turned and saw the young NPC standing behind the old woman speaking again. She was dressed in black, had slender limbs, tan skin, and a long sword at her waist. A red headband tied two small braids by her ears into a high ponytail with the rest of her black hair. She had a cool and cool demeanor. Unfortunately, she was frowning, making her look gloomy.
Faced with her question, Yun Miao only thought for a second: "It's a stone man."
Monkey King jumped out of a stone and was called the Stone Monkey. She also jumped out of a stone, so she was a stone person.
Huo Xin's eyes narrowed: "You are indeed a stone monster."
The black-faced man, who had originally clenched his fists, was immediately frightened and took two steps back.
Yun Miao corrected: "No, it's a person who jumped out of a stone, or stone man for short."
Granny Hua grasped the point: "You said you were human? Then how did you end up in a stone?"
Huo Xin frowned: "It's impossible for a person to appear in a stone for no reason. Don't tell me you deliberately got into that stone just to jump out and scare me."
Yun Miao also frowned: "It's not that I want to stay in the stone, someone stuffed me into that stone."
This person is the abominable game planner!
Granny Hua handed the torch to Huo Xin and walked towards the strange man beside the campfire. "In that case, could you please show me your hand?"
Huo Xin followed, his hand already resting on the hilt of the knife at his waist. The two men outside the temple were visibly nervous, not daring to breathe.
However, the scene that everyone expected, where the monster suddenly jumped up and revealed its hideous face, did not occur. Yun Miao mistakenly thought that this was some plot process and immediately raised his hands like a good kid in kindergarten.
Granny Hua obviously hadn't expected this to happen. She was stunned for a moment before she reached out and clasped her right wrist, placing her fingers on the beating pulse.
After a moment, the vigilance in Grandma Hua's eyes disappeared for the most part, and her tone became tentative.
"It really is a living person. I wonder who is so cruel as to stuff a fifteen-year-old girl like you into a rock."
Before Yun Miao could answer, the dark-faced man eagerly demanded confirmation: "Is it really a human?"
Yun Miao nodded seriously: "I really am a human. I have been a human for many years."
The black-faced man's face turned dark and red, and he clenched his fists, wanting to teach this idiot a lesson, but seeing that she was disheveled, thin and small, he just rolled his eyes at her in the end.
"So you're just a little kid. Even if you didn't jump out of the rock on purpose, what were you crawling around on the ground just now? I was so scared that I almost peed... cough cough"
He cursed and snatched the token of love and steamed buns given to him by his lover from her arms. After thinking for a while, he threw the two steamed buns into the arms of this strange child.
"Anyway, we'll be at Black Dragon Ridge tomorrow, so consider these two buns as alms to a little beggar like you. After you finish eating, stay still and don't crawl around anymore, or I'll teach you a lesson!"
The tall and thin man also snatched back his things with a cold face, leaving only two pancakes for the strange child, and then sat in the seat farthest away from her with the black-faced man.
Seeing that she dared to look at him, the tall and thin man immediately snorted coldly, trying to make this strange child understand his mistake.
However, what they didn't know was that in Yun Miao's concept, "Asking the Three Thousand Questions" was a stand-alone game she downloaded. This world was created for her as a player, and everything in this world and the NPC's plot existed to please the players.
This naturally includes the mandarin duck bellyband with great embroidery and artistic feel. The black-faced NPC is just a passerby who helps the player preserve it, so the player will not reflect on it, but will only be shocked.
"How could you steal my things?"
The NPCs in this game can actually rob players?
The dark-faced man and the tall and thin man looked over with even greater shock than she did.
"What? I stole your things?"
"Say that again?!"
Huo Xin walked over and looked down at this strange girl who seemed to be about her age. The silence in her eyes finally made her look a little more youthful.
"If you've always been like this... then I can kind of understand why you were stuffed into a stone."
Yun Miao frowned, then raised his head suspiciously and asked, "Are you scolding me?"
Huo Xin: “…No.”
"Oh, that's good."
Yun Miao didn't want to snatch the bags because the two NPCs gave her steamed buns and pancakes. She just sat quietly on the ground and sorted out the only remaining bag.
She spread out the small bag, carefully put the steamed buns, pancakes and hemp rope on it, and finally tied a knot clumsily, while the other people in the temple watched her quietly as she sorted the bag.
The black-faced man and the tall and thin man were originally very angry, but now they were surprised that the child cherished the two dry and hard steamed buns and pancakes so much, and even regarded a piece of hemp rope as a good thing, and they felt a little depressed.
Huo Xin looked at her dirty little face and thin body, then looked at the steamed buns and pancakes that she had carefully put away, and frowned again.
Granny Hua sighed silently. She had always known that the world was not peaceful.
"Ah! Monster!!!"
Suddenly, a terrified scream from outside the temple broke the tranquility of the night. Everyone was startled and looked outside the temple over the half-fallen door panel.
The moonlight made the grass and trees in the forest glow silver. A figure screamed and ran towards the ruined temple. It was the man who ran out screaming "Ghost!"
A giant spider as big as a house jumped out from the woods closely behind him. Its eight hairy legs crawled as fast as lightning, bending all the grass and trees wherever it passed, with an imposing manner that looked like it could uproot mountains and knock down trees!
A startled crow flew up from a tree, circling in the air with a hoarse, hollow cry. The howling of wolves echoed from the distant mountains.
Then everyone saw the big spider raise its head and hiss, then suddenly raise its sharp forelimbs.
Swish!
The man suddenly fell to the ground, and the spider's forelimbs, like spears, brushed past his shoulders and pierced deeply into the ground!
Taking advantage of this opportunity, the man scrambled into the temple, his voice even sharper and more terrifying than the crows circling in the sky.
"Run! Run! The monster is coming to eat people!"
"It's a mountain spider? How can there be such a big mountain spider here?"
Without time to think, Granny Hua suddenly drew her sword and strode to the door of the ruined temple. Red flames wrapped around the long sword in her hand out of thin air, the temperature around her rose instantly, and her old face was illuminated by the bright firelight, making it look even colder and more solemn.
"You evil creature, you won't be allowed to behave so recklessly here. Get out of here immediately!"
The mountain spider suddenly stopped and retracted its front limbs that wanted to explore the ruined temple as if it understood what people were saying, but it did not leave. Instead, it lowered its body and looked into the temple. A fishy and stinking smell immediately hit its face.
It was too close, having already crossed the safe distance between humans and monsters. The moonlight outside the door was completely blocked by its lowered upper body, and the light inside the temple dimmed immediately.
But with the help of the scorching flames on Grandma Hua's long knife, everyone was able to see the upper body of the mountain spider clearly. The short black hairs covering its body, the eight dark and shiny compound eyes that were so dense that it was disgusting, and the weird and ugly mouthparts... all made people sick at the sight!
The man who escaped back with a pale face retreated all the way to the back wall of the ruined temple, pointed at a broken dog hole at the foot of the wall and said to everyone in surprise:
"What are you standing there for? Run! Quick! There's a hole here, let's get out through this!"
The dark-faced man and the tall and thin man subconsciously took a few steps toward that direction, but stopped when they saw the old swordsman blocking the door.
Huo Xin stood by the campfire, watching the mountain spider's every move vigilantly, and ignored the man.
The temple was very quiet. No one spoke except the man. The mountain spider seemed to sense everyone's determination. Its dark compound eyes flashed and it began to retreat.
Granny Hua's face remained stern, but she felt relieved in her heart. She was old, and unless necessary, she really didn't want to fight with this mountain spider.
However, the next second, the mountain spider turned its body sideways, and its huge and fat body climbed up the wall of the ruined temple and disappeared from everyone's sight!
The crowd could not see its figure, but they could clearly see that the walls of the ruined temple began to shake slightly, and dust from the walls and beams fell down.
On a quiet night, the rustling sound made by the big spider's legs rubbing against the wall as it crawled constantly irritated everyone's nerves, making their scalps tingle and their backs chill.
Where is it? Where has it crawled to? What does it want to do?!
Everyone's eyes involuntarily followed the shaking and creaking of the walls. Suddenly, several tiles fell from the roof above, smashing into the temple and shattering. The beams creaked under the weight.
The dark-faced man and the tall and thin man had already held their breath unconsciously in such an atmosphere. They looked up stiffly, looking at the mountain spider's dense compound eyes appearing in the hole in the northwest corner of the ruined temple in horror. At first glance, they looked like twinkling "stars" in the night sky!
"Ahhh! Don't look at me! Don't look at me!!!"
The man who was chased by the mountain spider at the beginning let out a scream that was not like a human. He was so scared that he had a mental breakdown. He stood by the dog hole in the back wall and shouted at everyone again.
"Hurry up, follow me and escape from here. If we don't hurry up, this dilapidated temple will be crushed by this spider monster, and then it will eat us all!"
Huo Xin shouted coldly, "Shut up! We both witnessed the mountain spider's speed just now. If it really wants to chase us, we won't be able to escape. The only way to survive is to fight!"
As she spoke, she drew the long sword from her waist and strode towards Grandma Hua who was standing at the door.
The man screamed, "You can't go out the front door, it'll eat you!"
The dark-faced man and the tall and thin man holding the bundle looked left and right, not knowing who to listen to. Just when they were in a dilemma, a figure suddenly crawled towards the door.
Huo Xin looked at the strange girl with admiration, but the next second he saw that girl suddenly pushed away Grandma Hua who was standing at the door and sat down domineeringly in the place where Grandma Hua had originally stood.
She had no intention of going out to fight the mountain spider. Instead, she quickly took off her straw sandals, raised them in her right hand, pointed them at the open space outside the door, and slammed the sole of her sandal into the ground.
