Chapter 103 Construction

The graduation project focused on the construction and circulation of elemental models, so the projects mainly involved creating simple spells that summoned the four elements. This required little effort, and the simplicity of the spells meant a higher tolerance for errors and a lower failure rate.

Simply omitting the distraction step of generating elements allows me to focus more on controlling the element's own cycle, while using gems instead of elemental stones can control unstable and uneven elements under stable and uniform conditions, further improving the success rate of experiments.

Of course, gem casting cannot ultimately be included in the curriculum. This is merely a preliminary auxiliary method, a supplementary part that needs to be learned after successfully grasping the knack, and cannot be omitted.

To reach the pinnacle of spellcasting, one must master every stage of the spellcasting process—I recall a prominent figure in academia saying this.

Although I haven't succeeded in believing, it shouldn't take too much time to do this, right? I vaguely grasped the trick during that previous chance encounter.

With this in mind, after one set of gems had finished air-drying and I was sure there wouldn't be any problems, I put it in my pocket, left the white jade forest surrounding the library, and walked a little further until I reached an empty space before stopping.

Setting up inward defensive barriers in advance is a way to prepare for unforeseen events.

A mage's spells are a set of results obtained by correcting errors made during experiments.

I gestured for Hikari, who had followed me out of the way, to stand a little further away, and then handed over the cat that was circling around my feet to her to watch over. Only after I was sure that there were no more curious children around did I officially prepare to begin this experiment.

After many days, the light golden magic circle was fully unfolded again, and faint light rose from beneath the feet, like tiny snowflakes flowing backwards into the sky.

It was a sight I had never seen before, but now was not the time to be surprised.

I tossed the gem in my hand, activating my senses simultaneously, and recited the lyrics I had prepared long ago:

Let all things begin to turn!

In an instant, vibrant colors flowed from the melting gemstones, surrounding me, gently connecting and merging with each other, ultimately forming a complete circle.

The scorching flames transformed into a rapidly flowing wind, lifting and solidifying the sand into stones, from which fine water seeped out, eventually transforming back into flames radiating light and heat...

Rare sights in nature unfold all around us, yet they complement each other perfectly.

Sounds emanated from within, whether it was the whistling of the wind or the gurgling of water, the striking of solid rocks against each other, or the scorching heat of flames in the air, ultimately producing a rumbling tremor!

Like the beat of a drum or a heartbeat, it flickers with light yet is also like complete darkness.

Despite not having any premonition that anything was wrong, it felt as if I was trapped in an unbelievable illusion.

Then suddenly, a crack appeared right in the center of the circle.

It was accompanied by a crisp cracking sound.
