Chapter 134 Slime Adhesive... (approximately)

Chapter 134 Slime Adhesive... (approximately)

I casually tossed aside the broken molded knife, and only after the smoke and dust had completely cleared and I had confirmed the success of my move did I relax my tense nerves and let my limp body slowly fall from mid-air.

The moment I touched the ground, my body finally gave way, creaking and groaning under the strain. My muscles trembled unnaturally, making it almost impossible for me to stand.

If that bastard on the other side were still awake, this would almost certainly be a death sentence.

Fortunately, the final outcome has been settled with the dust settling.

After catching my breath, I had no choice but to continue indirectly controlling my body's form by manipulating magic, barely managing to maintain my standing and walking.

Otherwise, I'm afraid I would fall apart like a plaster statue with its supporting skeleton removed, or like a soft gluten ball without its main body, collapsing to the ground and unable to get up for a long time.

Dispersing the magic power from most of the chains that hadn't hit their target, and recovering my magic supply, I sped up the recovery of my magic power as much as possible, dragging my feet as I slowly made my way to the spot where the sword demon had been knocked down.

I'm sure he's still alive.

This wasn't because I held back, but rather because it was more like an intuitive certainty.

I am certain that he has enough strength to survive such a fierce attack.

The gray haze mostly originated from the crushed debris of buildings in the surrounding area, which was affected by the haze. It spread out with the scattered breeze and was slightly choking.

Beyond the site, which was mostly destroyed, I found once again, under the lights of the intact exhibition hall, the man in the black trench coat whose golden wedge was deeply embedded in the earth.

Sword Demon's condition is not good.

His face was pale, and most of his exposed skin was covered with a layer of charred ash that looked like it had been smoked. His body was covered with wounds of all sizes, and his side abdomen was almost pierced by a wedge, leaving a hole the size of a fist.

Fortunately, the wedge embedded in the ground still had a trace amount of electric current wrapped around its surface, so there was no large amount of blood flowing from the wound, nor was the person electrocuted beyond recognition. It was just the right amount of current to make someone lose control of their body, seal the wound, and then fall into a coma.

Honestly, seeing that madman reduced to such a miserable state, with no one else around, I find it hard to stop myself from laughing out loud.

I pinched his cheeks, trying my best to soothe the corners of his mouth that were turning up. I used my senses to spy on him from a distance again, making sure that his consciousness had indeed sunk into his body. Only then did I feel at ease to approach him, and I kicked away the straight sword that had rolled out of his hand.

This straight sword is also a formidable weapon.

Although my forcibly sharpening the molded blade had reduced its durability to some extent, after the intense exchange just now, and after dodging several direct hits from the Thunder Chains, the straight sword showed no damage whatsoever, not even the slightest possible scratch. Clearly, it was no ordinary weapon.

Perhaps as the winner of this struggle, I should try to snatch this thing away from him.

Shaking my head to dismiss the thought, I found a suitable place to sit down nearby, relaxed my body, and only then did I have the leisure to further check on the man's current condition.

After all, he will be an important fighting force in the future. In order to reduce the pressure of clearing the level, I need to ensure that he can re-establish a basis for communication with this side, and control his ferocity to a level that can be appropriately suppressed—at least not to the point that he will go crazy at will and turn his sword against this side.

It would be great if there were a switch to control the direction; that would make things much easier.

Even though all sorts of random thoughts kept popping into my head, they couldn't stop my hands from moving.

First, let's examine his various pockets. This bastard must have some kind of inventory or hidden compartment that can hold a lot of items, otherwise it's hard to explain how he managed to possess so many high-value weapons so early on.

However, even after I emptied all his pockets, I still couldn't identify any spell formations or reactions from him.

Generally speaking, this represents three possibilities: First, the spell he carries is far more advanced than I understand, thus possessing hidden qualities; second, this ability is not derived from the spell, but rather, like the prompt box in front of me, it possesses another medium and is a form of structure that is unlikely to be affected by magic; third, and perhaps the most unimaginable, is that he doesn't actually possess such a storage space, and everything he has is something he acquired early on based on his accumulated experience.

Is that really the case?

Or perhaps he actually brought some of the things he gained in the previous round directly into the new game?

Just like some games that were originally designed for repeated play, in order to increase the player's enjoyment and enthusiasm from another perspective, rather than simply the tedious grind of leveling up and cheating, additional stats, equipment, or blessings will be provided during the repeated death and rebirth of the game character, thereby broadening the possibilities of the game and adding different fresh fun.

I personally really enjoy this type of game because the gameplay is quite fresh and fun until you achieve a certain level of success.

But... if the character whose status is repeatedly stacked doesn't end up on your side, or turns into a passerby halfway through, or becomes a disruptive character who ruins the game experience, then you'll feel like I do now, nothing but frustration.

It feels like an ordinary person walking peacefully on the road to a normal life, and then suddenly finding themselves caught up in a super war that had nothing to do with them, with random special effects and disruption of public affairs.
