Chapter 178: Why are there three stages?!

Chapter 178: Why are there three stages?!

Speaking of the skeletal dragon that looks back at its head, there's another interesting point here.

The reason why the bone dragon couldn't find its head in the basin before, and why it was able to find its head after we missed and the bone fell into the ground, is based on the same reason and premise.

Yes, the head of this enormous bone dragon has been placed not far from us. We even passed by it not long ago and observed and examined it up close.

Those dragon pits, the giant dragons who have long stayed in this desolate basin, have been piling up huge mounds of dung. What they have buried beneath these mounds are not only the excrement left by previous generations, but also a sealing formation covered by layers of filth, and the skull of a dragon's head sealed inside!

Which genius dragon came up with this ridiculous dragon shit idea?!

Perhaps this is precisely why the bone dragon was triggered when we checked the condition of the small mound, and then suddenly attacked us.

As I watched the bone dragon pull its skull from the burning filth, scattering the dirt, and then came to understand this, I almost felt a profound sense of powerlessness, disbelief, and a bittersweet feeling.

Who would have thought that such an important thing would be buried beneath that filth?

It's likely that those dragons who maintained this habit for so long never expected that, after such a long period of habit, they would unexpectedly wander into us tiny humans and dare to touch those filthy things.

It was truly a coincidence.

But since the mistake has already been made, we can only try to find a way to deal with and resolve it.

However, to be honest, if it weren't for our commotion today, the bone dragon that was flipped and sealed in the basin would have broken free of its seal sooner or later. This can be seen from the eerie blue flames burning on its body, the numerous bone dragon legions that were summoned nearby, and the giant dragon that had been transformed into a corpse dragon and had to obey it.

However, our arrival accelerated this process and brought forward its recovery.

The enormous bone dragon vibrated its bony wings and slowly swayed its head from side to side as if it were somewhat unaccustomed to it. However, it was not entirely unguarded. It could clearly sense that it was being locked on, and a creepy, electric-like sensation rose from the bottom of its heart.

A far more advanced perception than mine covered the area we were in, greatly suppressing my exploration range. I even had to use most of my mental energy to fight against it, otherwise I would be forced back to within a meter of myself, which would be almost equivalent to being half-useless.

The ghostly blue soul flames flickered casually, their tongues gently licking the cracks that had appeared on the smooth bones, thus promoting their slow healing.

"We can't let it continue to recover."

[Frost Sword] frowned, lightly pushed off with his feet, and charged forward with a deafening roar, leaping up over protruding rocks and rapidly approaching the mountainside.

Even though her movements looked so light, the snake-like veins that slithered and spread through her calves as she exerted force, and the broken rocks on the surface, clearly told me just how much pressure she was under.

This is not a time to just stand by and watch, putting pressure on your teammates.

To simplify the casting process and make the spell outlined by magic more concise and targeted in order to avoid the loss of attack power, I tried several spells with different attributes, but the final results were not satisfactory.

The wind blades were mockingly extinguished by the casually flapping bone wings, the earth's restraints were easily broken free by a single step, and the water guns that were hard to summon on the wasteland were frozen into fragile ice crystals before they even reached me, falling to the ground and shattering into pieces after losing all power... Even my most frequently used and most powerful arrows, woven from lightning and fire, were blown out by the bone dragon when it became slightly serious.

In the end, it no longer even tried to dodge or retaliate; it would just turn its head at me from time to time and deliberately grin mockingly.

Although I knew that dragons were highly resistant to magic, I could only truly understand how powerless this situation was when I actually faced them.

So what can I still do now?

I quickly considered the many things at hand, excluding those that I deemed ineffective from my thought process. While keeping an eye on the continuous attacks of the [Frost Sword], I squinted, trying to discern the various spiritual lights covering the bone dragon's body.

Okay, there's nothing to pay attention to.

Although Miyuki kept trying to cause trouble for the Bone Dragon and hinder its recovery from its injuries, and taking advantage of the fact that the Bone Dragon did not make much movement, she jumped onto its back and moved left and right from time to time, clashing and slashing with her swords. Her speed was so fast that it was almost impossible to detect where she was. Only lotus-like snow ice accompanied the continuous attacks, piercing into the bone crevices, blooming and then bursting apart, in an attempt to blast the tightly sealed spine into several pieces.

Even so, her actions still failed to achieve the initial expectations.

The enormous bone dragon simply lay quietly on the ground, slowly raising its neck bones and then lifting one of its front claws, gently placing it on the ground.

It was as if the earth had turned into soft mud that could be kneaded at will. The stone waves covered by frost rose up in an instant, spreading all the way to more than a hundred meters away. But before they could even get used to the sudden surprise, those unmade stone pillars fell straight down along with the earth's pull, causing a series of incessant tremors.

I hastily used the Featherfall spell to slow my descent, and floated to the exposed rocks to the side, using the height to look behind me into the dust-filled area.
