The door of the hot spring cabin opened slightly to one side, and Fukyuki, dressed in light clothing, stretched her limbs out and yawned.
"Good morning, Ms. Miyuki. Are you here for morning class this early again today?"
Hikari greeted Miyuki with a smile. The icy swordswoman, who had her long, icy hair neatly tied back, tilted her head and gave a soft "hmm," her ears slightly red.
Blinking her eyes, Hikari asked again, "Is your injury alright? You said yesterday that you needed to rest for a few more days."
"It's just a minor injury, nothing serious." Shen Xue shook her head and quickly walked away into the distance.
She drew the long sword from her waist and quickly walked to the open platform in front of the hut, slowly exhaling.
The soft snow spread outwards on its own, revealing a perfect circle with a diameter of fifteen meters, with the deep snow at the very center of this circle.
Almost instantly, countless sword shadows bloomed around her, like transparent ice flowers unfolding around her, with petals and branches growing wildly in all directions. Beneath their beautiful appearance, the hidden tips were sharp enough to pierce and injure.
Standing there, Hikari watched the elegant yet chilling sword dance for a while, then snapped out of her daze after feeling the cold and quickly ran back inside.
Before we knew it, the sky was gradually getting brighter.
Perhaps because they had stayed up too late last night, they were all sound asleep, and even standing at the door, you could hear their soft snoring.
"Next... well, I guess I should make a proper breakfast!"
Giving herself a pep talk, the girl strode into the kitchen, glanced around at the few fresh ingredients displayed in the cabinet, checked the pre-processed ingredients tucked away in her pocket, and mentally planned what she was going to make.
"Sure enough, you should eat something good in the morning."
With great enthusiasm, I brought out a frying pan and a stew pot, and then took out a variety of ingredients such as potatoes, tomatoes, asparagus, and fresh meat. After boiling the water, I put them in in order of the required stewing time, from longest to shortest. I also prepared sweet white bread, raw eggs, jam, and spices on the side.
Admittedly, after diligently studying cooking with Yao's exceptionally skillful doll maids, Hikari made significant progress in her culinary abilities. However, compared to those extravagant and exquisite dishes, for Hikari, perhaps the simple, delicious stews that could warm her heart were the best food, full of the taste of home.
"Hmm, but isn't that too little?"
Hikari tapped her chin and counted on her fingers.
Depending on everyone's appetite, the amount of fried egg, jam and butter toast, stew and salad for each person varied. However, considering that some of them seemed to have particularly large appetites, the current preparations did not seem to be able to fully satisfy everyone's appetites.
"Besides, this kind of eating is a bit too monotonous. There might be people who don't want to eat heavily flavored food after getting up early."
Nodding confidently, she took out another large pot, filled it more than halfway with water, boiled it, and then sprinkled in rice grains.
"It needs to be a soft yet translucent white jade-like lean pork congee."
After another flurry of activity, the perfect white jade and lean pork congee that I had envisioned was successfully completed.
The tender slices of meat swayed gently from side to side in the milky white porridge. Even when scooped up with a spoon for close inspection, the soft, translucent white rice grains were plump and rounded, displaying a lustrous sheen in the milky liquid. And if you adjusted the angle slightly, you could see them sliding freely downwards without any sticking or breaking the flow.
"It tastes great too!"
Hikari clapped her hands excitedly, took off the apron hanging around her neck, and looked at the oven running beside her.
When Hikari first arrived at the hot spring cabin, the first thing she visited was not the hot spring that Annie had been excitedly talking about all the way, but the fully equipped kitchen.
At first glance, she discovered an unexpected surprise, and immediately felt a strong sense of belonging to this place.
Whether it's neatly arranged cookware, various unconventional knives, or even stoves categorized in multiple ways, from old-fashioned earthen stoves that require burning firewood to modern stoves that can be easily heated with just magic stone shavings, there are even grills and ovens available—it's practically everything you could want.
Meanwhile, the dessert she was preparing to enjoy after the meal was being baked in the oven: a soft, sweet, and slightly tart wild berry pie.
"Although I originally planned to make pancakes, it seems that what we have now is already quite rich. I'll wait until we have something lighter to eat later and then add them as an after-dinner snack!"
With this happy thought in mind, and after confirming that the stove was temporarily turned off and the pots and pans containing food were properly covered so that they wouldn't cool down easily in a short time, Hikari washed her hands and walked briskly out of the kitchen onto the veranda.
"After a little more processing, it can be served."
"Well then, let's go check it out first, as is customary."
As it approached seven o'clock, the warm sunlight slowly rose from the eastern sky, casting a golden-red glow upon everything, easily passing over the transparent glass after the water mist and snow had been wiped away, and quietly falling on the veranda.
The snoring I had heard earlier seemed to have subsided, or perhaps the birds nearby had started chirping. I heard a rustling sound from not far away. Turning my head, I saw Shenxue, who had finished her morning lessons, bending over and shoveling snow away from the doorway.
She hadn't noticed it when it was darker, but seeing it now startled Hikari.
