Alice suddenly switched to a middle-aged man's tone and reached out to put her arm around my shoulder, but I turned my head away to avoid it.

She didn't seem to mind, but simply finished the tea in her cup, put it down gently on the saucer, and made a crisp sound.

I glanced at her sideways and said, "Whenever you laugh like that, you're definitely up to something."

"No way! I've been so honest and open with you, sharing my past experiences. You should at least believe me a little. Look, look at those sincere eyes!"

Alice stared wide-eyed and leaned closer, seemingly seeing nothing but sincerity.

I turned my head away and pressed my hand against the spot on her shoulder blade that I could feel, so that she could sit down again.

Fortunately, I didn't encounter any resistance, otherwise I might not have been able to outmaneuver this female knight whose strength I didn't yet know.

To break the awkward silence, I changed the subject: "By the way, how much do you know about Anne?"

“Annie?” Alice tilted her head and blinked. “An uninvited guest who suddenly visits the master’s garden.”

“I always felt it was a bit strange that you called me ‘master’ before… cough. That’s not what I meant.” I chose my words carefully. “I mean, do you know anything about the name ‘Anne Farns’?”

This was just a sudden flash of inspiration.

Although Alice should be an earlier being than Anne in terms of time, and one should not know much about her, for some reason, a thought suddenly flashed through my mind: who knows?
