This is a fake!
I could faintly hear familiar bursts of laughter coming from behind me.
Looking back, Alice, who had somehow darted in through a window in the corridor, was lying face down on the floor, clutching her belly and laughing so hard she was pounding the floor. Even her legs and rabbit ears were trembling from laughing so hard that not a single muscle in her body was still shaking.
I jumped onto her back in frustration and stomped on her a few times with my paws to vent my anger.
"Oh dear, my master!"
Alice seemed to be trying hard to stop her back from trembling, but with little success: "Do you think that in this remote wasteland where there are hardly any people for miles around, you can establish a reasonable and complete system of spells like your so-called academy city?"
"Haha! It's already difficult enough for them to cast a complete spell, let alone fight against someone! Oh my, I almost burst out laughing when I saw how suspicious you were just now!"
"Damn it, aren't you about to die laughing right now?"
I complained, stomping my feet a few more times: "Get me out of here right now. We need to find Shenxue, who's out keeping watch, as soon as possible, tell her the news, and then decide on an escape route based on the situation."
Alice nodded obediently, then chuckled again.
Fortunately, she acted quickly and didn't throw me off halfway. Instead, she held me in her arms and we safely made our way to our hiding place, where we met up with Shenxue.

"...I don't know." After a moment of silence, Miyuki shook her head and sighed, her expression complicated. "After all, I've been away for a long time, and I don't know much about the specific distribution and changes in the power dynamics within the city. Just like now, I brought you all here on this adventure without even gathering any information, and I thought I had everything under control."
"What a ridiculous idea."
"How about this instead?"
Alice touched her lower lip: "Then let's ask that one, shall we? Since he dared to barge in under these circumstances, he must have his own methods and channels for obtaining information. What do you think?"
She looked up at the brightly lit east, her eyes narrowing as she revealed a sly smile.
