Chapter 228 Location

After a brief hesitation and deliberation, Miyuki and I unanimously approved the proposal.

After all, we have no other backup plan to find and help the innocent girl who was taken away and is about to be used as a human sacrifice.

Of course, although it was about rescuing someone from a large crowd, the subsequent operation went exceptionally smoothly.

It's quite simple; in short, it boils down to just four words: feinting to the east while attacking in the west.

However, the method we used was: Alice would lead me to wander around in the shade of various trees, making cat-like noises as appropriate, and moving among the trees or crowds when necessary, in order to disrupt the reconnaissance and blockade, while Miyuki would take the opportunity to break in and bring out the black-clad men who were about to be surrounded by the crowd.

After repeatedly experimenting and figuring out the overall combat capabilities, the mission proceeded much more easily.

Alice even made me repeatedly run the same group of people around in different places in the same area several times, almost driving them to the Red Temperature Zone.

Although it was difficult for me to keep making a sufficiently attention-grabbing meow, I had the good fortune to spend a fair amount of time playing with cats on a regular basis, and with my previous experience, I was able to barely pass muster after a few attempts at imitation.

In short, apart from the incident where Miyuki was attacked several times by the man in black when she met up with him, due to excessive fright and heightened vigilance, and had to be knocked unconscious and taken away, we didn't encounter any other significant setbacks.

After smoothly scaling over the church's wall, which was only half a meter lower than the inner city wall, we left the chaotic shouts and footsteps in the distance far behind.

The rescued man in black stopped to rest in an elegantly built but deserted flower garden, and at that very moment, he slowly woke up.

I tried to greet him, but was met with a shrinking and wary response.

"It's safe now."

Alice, who was squatting next to the man, rested her chin on her hand and watched him with a smile: "We have taken you out of the church's territory, and now those people who want to capture you are no longer here."

"You're still holding me."

The man quickly retorted, but then kept his lips tightly closed, as if to conceal his features. No matter what we asked him, he didn't speak again, only constantly turning his eyes around, as if searching for an escape route.

Even so, we can still deduce quite a lot from the parts he revealed in a short period of time and the changes in his expression.

First of all, the person in front of me is at most a teenager, probably a child from a family that lives in the inner city.

He seemed to be trying to rescue an acquaintance and had just overheard the news that the group had spread. Without consulting anyone, especially his own family and elders, he simply prepared some equipment on his own and, without making any probing moves, tried to sneak into the destination he had learned about through the rumors.

Unsurprisingly, the boy, who had no combat experience or counter-surveillance awareness, ran right into a guard shortly after landing.

The latter was yawning and lost in thought when he suddenly saw someone appear not far from him. He was obviously stunned and completely forgot to warn us. In a moment of desperation, the boy ambushed him and died without knowing why. He was hidden in the tool shed in the greenhouse garden, which gave the three of us who came out of the secret passage a big fright.

After that, the boy, who was quietly moving forward, was discovered again after walking a short distance. He didn't notice and the other person escaped, which set off an alarm bell. After that, until we rescued him from the crowd, he was constantly running around in a panic.

"Wow, based on this analysis, he's really bad at it."

Alice deliberately used an exaggerated tone, and even I thought she overacted.

"I thought he'd have some real skills, but it turns out he's just a little kid who hasn't even grown a single hair yet and hasn't mastered any kung fu!"

"You're the one who's a little brat!"

Abandoning his principle of silence, the provoked boy retorted loudly, but was quickly overwhelmed by the intense aura emanating from the smiling, rascal-like rabbit, and lowered his head: "I... I'm already an adult! And my swordsmanship is very strong! Even my teacher praises me for doing a great job!"

"Hmm~ You say you're strong, and the teacher even praised you... If meeting just these two conditions is enough to be considered strong, then wouldn't I, who can easily suppress you, also be considered strong?" Alice smiled and pointed to his side. "Also, where's your sword now?"

"I only lost to you because I wasn't in good shape and was careless! Besides, my sword is still perfectly fine... Wow! When did you take it!"

The boy stared in shock, repeatedly checking the empty scabbard at his waist and the short sword that was dancing dangerously on the rabbit's fingertips.

Alice is really something else! Taking advantage of her superior skills, she drew her sword at lightning speed when the other party wasn't paying attention, used the sword as a juggling prop, and deliberately waved it in front of its owner so he couldn't get it. Is bullying a child really that fun?

"Of course I'm very happy!"

As if hearing my thoughts, Alice smiled and winked at me. She spun around again, dodging the little guy's attack, and shoved the short sword back into its sheath. Then, she grabbed the back of his clothes, twisted his wrist, and threw him onto a wooden chair not far away.
